I'd like to imagine all the fortnite players return to their island while charlie is just stranded out at sea alone until the next time he decides to play the game
I'd argue Smash Bros still holds that title since its characters retain their actual... well... character. As opposed to Fortnite where the guest characters are just skins. It doesn't really feel like Naruto is interacting with Batman when Naruto is dancing gangnam style and Batman is holding an assault rifle. Multiversus however looks like a strong contender for actual best crossover of all time since its characters will actually be themselves and unlike Smash won't be restricted to just videogames. We're really getting a game where Gandalf, Rick Sanchez, Aria Stark, and Steven Universe are all going to fight each other. And judging by the trailer the characters may even verbally interact, which would also put it a step above Smash.
Seeing people say “I don’t play Fortnite but I’ve gotta admit this is pretty cool” makes me happy. You don’t have to like the game, but you’ve gotta admit Epic puts so much love and effort into this game and it’s events
it's like league. No one likes the game or community, not even the community itself. But alot like the music, cinematics, Arcane, and events are incredible and alot of people like those
@@notar5148 Alot of people like the game actually, it's mostly just that certain members of the community (cringey kids, toxic competitive players, ect.,) end up becoming projected as "The Fortnite Community," while the wholesome, mature, and friendly members generally get ignored
@@TheAlphaTeamPlays Exactly. Us mature members of the community have been trying to shed that “cringy” past for a while. You’d be surprised how many of us there are.
Despite how memed this game is you can see how much the devs seem to care for the game and community. I dont play anymore but my brother does and it's wholesome to see this all play out
Could you imagine how AWESOME something like this must feel for kids? Like genuinely, I feel like if I was younger, all of this stuff would blow my mind and I'd be hyped talking to my friends at school about it
I don't enjoy Fortnite, but stuff like that makes me want to like it and warms my heart a little. With all the scummy developers, publishers, and practices being used by game companies its really refreshing to see something so wholesome.
with stuff like this I want to like Fortnite so much. I just wish the building wasnt there but that will never happen because thats like the core mechanic but if it wasnt there I would love Fortnite so much
Love or hate this game, it’s pretty incredible what they’ve done with it. I have nothing but respect for these developers and their work regardless if I don’t like the game or the direction they went. I’m honestly excited to see what this team could do outside of Fortnite.
Not gonna lie, I can see why kids like Fortnite with little events like this. This is cool for a multiplayer game to do this every so often. I would be more interested if it wasn't a battle royale
You should try save the world. It's a decent hop in hop out base survival kinda thing with different modes and it's own events. It's pretty nice but i've played it out over the years.
I don't even play Fortnite, but this basically shows that all other AAA "live service" games, that don't do events anywhere near this level, aren't really invested in their own product.
Fortnite is able to do this because of their status. I sincerely doubt that Apex could have tons of celebrities and Musicians in their game because Alex just isn’t as big of a name, although I could just be wrong.
@@warv6552 they could probably grow their brand if they tried, but that would require incorporating a story (and to my knowledge, Apex doesn’t have one and it could be a little late to start one). All they would need is to announce a live event ahead of time with truly well thought-out, original idea and ensure it runs smoothly.
To be completely honest, Save the World could be so much better if it had PvE battles like this. Sucks that I missed this event though, it looked really cool
@@zeorph it's a shame but it makes sense from a business standpoint. Put more money into the hugely popular (and hugely profitable) battle royale game mode, or the pve defense game mode that the majority of players hardly even know exists.
Also yeah they are, I truly respect Epic Games for their effort into these events. Props to them! I don't play it like I used to I but the memories I have were so fun.
Kinda make me sad that they put in all this effort for a Battle Royale... a genre that frankly has overstayed it's welcome. Imagine how cool it would be if this event was for a massive co-op action game with the same crossover events without the limitations of a Battle Royale.
@@Shinransa they probably plan to integrate other full-time gamemodes in the future, but the reason they put all of this effort in is because people still play the game. It’s very fulfilling to see all of your hard work come to fruition, especially when it’s being recognized by millions.
@@NextGenHoliness to be fair, save the world had a ton of issues, namely the RNG lootbox way of getting new heroes. If it pulled a warframe and let you grind certain missions for hero "shards" or whatever, it would have been better. Not to mention its other issues, but still, I loved that mode and I bought 4 of the 40 buck founders packs for my pals and I.
These live events are amazing I really see this as the future of gaming considering the cutscenes were still part of the actual game and you could move around while the ai is talking, well done epic games
I mean you say that but I can think of ten people of the top of my head that would surprise me way more Obama Mao zedong Mr Rogers Family guy Naruto (but they'd never do that) That one cereal tiger Minecraft Steve Charlie Octane from Apex Legends Alexander the great Dare I go on
@@Osterochse I mean, the game is fundamentally good but it's mainstream appeal to kids makes it undesirable for some people. It's just goofy and doesn't really have the aspect of seriousness, which is totally fine, but for those who don't mess with that and want a more fast paced environment, there's better alternatives (i.e Apex Legends). Another thing is that people, such as myself, enjoyed the game from like season 1 to 7 but the dramatic change in the game's original elements made a lot of us leave. Their attempt to keep things fresh and new ushered in more players but in my opinion, it didn't need to be changed yet and players from that season 1-5 range would agree, therefore they left when the crazy things that influenced the gameplay became frequent with every season. Lastly though, in this odd paragraph about Fortnite of all things, I think what really killed the game was the stigma around it. So many memes and opinions on the game giving it and it's playerbase a good ol' taste of mockery. It became the League of Legends of the gaming world for awhile and that had removed a lot of it's players I'd say. After all, nobody wants to be uncool, play a game tailored for children, and be mocked for it at that. Closing thoughts: This upcoming season seems promising, despite the notion of still keeping it fresh and new. They're adding sliding and other interesting features, along with a collab with the beloved show Arcane. I don't think it will reach it's peak of enjoyment like seasons 1 - 5 but it will certainly be worth checking out.
I never liked Fornite or BR games but gotta say all these events look amazing, like expanding the world and making these cinematics, imagine if minecraft did this while we were kids, i totally get why kids play this game tbh
I've never played Fortnite so I am so confused at what's going on. I can't explain why Ariana Grande is breaking out of a secret base with the Rock while an alien invasion takes place and the island does a front flip. Even so, obviously a cinematic masterpiece.
@@sharkprisoner1909 And in the right hands. Man... I remember playing fortnite on the first week, I couldn't imagine it would become the next minecraft lol. It's kind of amazing, really.

People that dont play Fortnite dont realize exactly how integral to the plot The Rock is at this point. Also he, canonically, hangs out with Batman in Gotham. So. Yeah. Fortnite has unironically had The Rock and Bruce Wayne chillin together, DC approved.
Regardless of what people say as someone who plays games in virtually every genre I love checking in on fortnite every season. Makes me realize I take other games too seriously sometimes
Ngl I love this new season's weapons and gear. The only thing that bothers me is they removed the ability to scan fallen teammates, so I've run up to downed people and looked like a dumbass.
hate fortnite if you will, but it goes to show how committed is epic to their game with these kind of events. Other games will slap a quirky game mode, a couple of special rewards and call it a day.
I mean, they're not anything majorly impressive. Relatively low-quality models are easy to animate well. Don't forget that Travis Scott was literally nipple-less
Yeah this is the first IP that I've seen cooperate with every other IP regardless. Theyve got deals with marvel. Dc. Universal. Fox. Everyone. I've never seen anything like it before. I'm a little sick of it too tbh. How Fortnite is becoming a commercial for everything. But it's impressive to see one entity achieve this. Too bad the game isn't fun to play anymore.
@@alekra3521 yeah Fortnite has become an commercial for other IPs. But, can't hate. Fortnite and everything it touches is making money hand over fist. And I don't think it's too aggregious... Except the marvel battle pass season. That was a bit much.
No matter how salty everyone is about the game, this was the first game in ages that brought us the lets all be thogether feeling again and i will never forget that, thanks Fortnite.
@@RaijuZilla Did you notice how he posted the same comment after you replied? that shows that he's a lowkey bot designed to reply the same shit after someone cares about it lmao
Me and my friend collectively lost our minds when he showed his face. I do find Fortnite decently fun (only when playing with friends and not taking the game seriously) but the events they do are truly unique and awesome. I wish other games would take some notes.
I've been noting everything down ever since Fortnite came out. This is by far one of the best games ever made in my opinion. I will use these ideas and make my own game. Thank god I was born in the 2000s for this.
God, remember back in 2019 were literal children who liked Fortnite were bullied relentlessly but a fanbase who should know better than to do that considering how their fanbase was mocked in 2013-2017? Horrible times.
The same thing that happened with Minecraft. People hated it because of its fan base but then it became game of the year or some shit. Fortnite really wasn’t that bad of a game at all but the new updates and passing of its old community is bringing it back.
It’s kinda sad how much people look down on people who play the game that most of the comments have “I don’t play Fortnite” or “I know it’s Fortnite” in front of them.
@@firebreath266 bruh if I was gonna say anything positive about a game without actually playing it, it’d have more meaning cause you’re saying something positive without being a braindead fanboy.
The 'Fortnite bad' trend is gonna die the same way 'Minecraft bad' did. The games aren't on the same level of quality but neither are objectively bad. These cinematics are crazy.
ive always never hated fortnite more of a "lol fortnite sucks" cause everyone says it does, but honestly i like it. or its me spending over 100+ dollars on it previously speaking
