Switching to pc was by far your best choice. Pop up cups are cross platform so there is no downside to playing pc, you still come across all consoles and get the added framerate and visual options

I'm from South Africa and I played the duos Gauntlet with a friend and came in the top 9% playing on 200 ping all the time.We had to stop because we coudn't fight people with below 100 ping when it comes to editing and shooting people out the sky due to lag. We need servers even if it is just for the competitive scene.
