The reason why I watch you and ignore nearly everyone else is because you abstain from "gazillion of kills", "I've got the most crowns", "see how great I am". I realize that Fortnite is a playground composed mainly of adolescents so I accept that content. It's their thing. But your content is my thing. I learn from it. You're a good teacher. You've made my play much better over the years. When I watch your videos, I am grateful that you in no way resemble an overgrown adolescent. It's so refreshing. Thanks!
Fr, he's so good at making content. I like how all of his videos are actually intelligently made. His gameplay is there, but the main component is him breaking down strategy and how to approach the game as the match progresses. If Fortnite had a an equivalent to ESPEN, I feel like he would make a great host.
you should also check out prospering. he doesnt even collect crown wins, always drops his crowns. just watching his streams made me a bit better at moving around during fights and flicking with the shotgun.
I spent the last week in Ibiza. Internet wasn’t great so I watched a fair amount of prospering live streams instead of playing. His movement is good but his aim is somewhat sussy imo and he kills a lot of what I’d describe as bots. Jmo so no need for hate defending.
He has a crown because they aren't pure bot lobbies. He was playing with a low level account that he lost a few matches on with no kills. That way he has mostly bots and most likely a few noobs to beat up on. As long as there is one other real player in the game you can earn a crown.
No. You will get crowns after reaching lvl 10. So if you team with an alt account that never reached lvl 10, you will get bot lobbies. No crowns. If instead you party with an alt account that got over lvl 10 in a past season (doesn't matter that in this season is lvl 1), you will receive alot easyer lobbyes and also crowns for winning.
FINALLY SOMEONE TALKS ABOUT THOSE “Solo vs Squad” CHANNELS. 99.9% of their kills are all ai, and they rarely ever get any real player kills. They’re such a waste of space in the community.
Magneto is the worst item ever added. Extremely broken hit box is 20 meters wide, damage is insane even when it misses you completely. Cool down time is way to fast i absolutely hate it so much. Its always the worst players just spamming it all game.
I got 2 clips of it being broken I had completely full health and I got one hit insta killed from the mangeto gloves and then this other time I got in a car and didn't know someone was there and as soon as I got in the car he was hitting it with Magento and on the left side of the car so if I got out I wud get hit and I cudt move either and died right away there was literally nothing I can do so stupid
Last season it was broken water bending. This season has way too many OP weapons with Magneto being the worst. Stopped playing normal BR, started playing Reload, which was fun for a while but became repetitive due to the small map and having to kill the same players over and over. Taking a break until the actual OG season.
They do much worse than this. When the battle pass bonus rewards aren't announced yet, they make videos which "reveal" what they are, and just make up a skin and blatantly lie about it coming from game files. It's not misleading; it's just a blatant lie.
I'm 50/50 - I think these kinds of creators are insanely stupid and I don't really care - but at the same time, to see his views for such BS gameplay is a little infuriating. I have a friend who has been working on his streaming journey for years, and would kill to have those views on his videos - of real, amazing gameplay - I think it's maybe "unfair" (if you will) that idiots like the guys who create ""fake"" content are getting such exposure, but, it is what it is. If the community wants to watch him kill bot lobbies, then so be it, I guess? But - Jake - you're amazing, I recommend your channel all the time - the videos you make are valuable, and you're one of the few remaining genuine FN players out there - thank you and keep it up!
I call 11pm dad hour.. I'll get outplayed by 11 Ur olds throughout the day but once the kids are in bed I get a few decent wins against all the other dads trying to get a bit of practice In 😂... (I am starting to hold my own against the 11 Ur olds now though 😅)
Yeah I have no problem with this because it doesn’t affect stats. If it did then it would mess up leaderboards and that would make stats totally irrelevant

Ok, i dont wanna receive too much hate, but I do not have lobbies for Quests and stuff for it to work the "new account" has to be below lvl 10 or 15 and the lobbies will only be bots. But if you go to the fortnite tracker, it will say it was a bot lobby, and it doesn't count toward your wins or anything. So if a person is doing "bot lobbies" and has a private fortnite tracker profile, it is major sus.
I feel like the biggest issues with these mythics is that they have infinite ammo, like just give them limited uses so people can’t spam them and problem solved
there used to be a bot acc that you could join and it put you in bot lobbies without you personally needing a second account and epic removed all of them

Really appreciate how objective you present the information in your vids. Although some people may say it's just for kids this kinda bs propagated by Epic (misinformation, unfairness, predatory practices) ends up negatively effecting those kids.
Some interesting info about bot lobbies, low skill lobbies and how to "fake" those ones: 15:18 you can join a bot lobby with a crown, but those lobbies don't track crown progress, so you can't get a crown win or lose your crown in a bot lobby Bot lobbies also requires an account that has an account level lower than 5, that's all. You can also "trick" the system by joining a lobby with an account that has an account level lower than 200 to get easy lobbies that counts as a regular lobby, something that some people do every season to get TONS of crown wins You can also "trick" the UI by canceling the matchmaking in the last second on your low level account (or close the game when loading), so you will NOT have your name in the top left corner, like when you're playing alone So... yeah... you can make those fake lobbies and no one will notice
I sadly cant get hyped over high kill games because of the general aspect of bots being in lobbies when watching content, unless say its from something like a diamond 3 and up ranked game. I get why fortnite does it but I really wish fortnite could do something maybe like how xdefiant had the newcomer playlist till a specific level tho doubt thatll ever happen. In the mean time ill just stick to watching jakes tips for whenever new stuff gets added.
one time i played with somebody who did this and they told me this: 1. the level of the bot account doesn't seem to affect much. 2. it's possible to do this without having the name on the top left 3. it's quite common to queue with people doing the same thing
it is so easy to notice how bad the players are they are up against. usually small channels (nothing wrong with small creators, gotta start somewhere. who get 50 plus kills solo squads easily where the squad is acting like a nintendo switch lobby and none are pro players...
I think it is extremely immoral for streamers to make a fat living by misleading people and especially children. I do not care if players choose to do this privately, because as Jake mentions they do not hurt anyone. The point is that misleading people to make money is appalling and the fact that many people do it on RU-vid should not be an excuse but simply hoghtlights the extent of the problem - where would we be if everybody did that? You know I have to say, I really like the logical and conceptual approach you take to breaking down how to play Fortnite based on practicality and logic. As someone who has trained in several martial arts, your content is very similar to how my MMA instructors train me how to fight.
Everyone - Fortnite will give you an easy lobby first match of the day usually Me - full crown lobby everytime and end up rage quitting after being killed off spawn 6 times in a row 😁
i noticed that one time when fn got me into a lobby but kept the other people out of the match, so i assume that as long as you have someone in in the party it will show the health bar
See it all the time, especially on live streams, where they have a "fan" join their squad who is level 2 and then does nothing all match, even floating in the sea. Aside from the 2-boxing, a lot of creators are smurfing, where YT FN creators run new accounts themselves and do the same thing, whenever they go to a POI the pop-up "+1000XP for location discovered" appears on screen. For me its scummy to deceive people like that, especially on Live but people will and can do what they want. Meanwhile as soon as I passed Lvl 200+ I get put into lobbies with Unreal, Champion and Elites while I'm trying to hit someone with a coconut for the glider.
I think it’s scummy as you said that the people making the money from lying takes away from views and the money made as a whole from good content creators like yourself
Fun fact: the reason why it doesn’t show your name in the corner when you queue solo is because of a bug in chapter 2 where you could make the game say that you were levelling up super fast, and it would announce it to the whole lobby because back in early chapter 2 they made it say in the kill feed when you level up. So they removed the name from the corner when you queue solo and it announcing level ups in kill feed.
I used to watch a few videos but then I just got bored of it because of how many bots there were and while I see these types of videos pop up on my feed I no longer click on it
As a new player (~10ish months old now) i recall seeing one of those thumbnails early on and thinking to myself "Oh wow, i really can't relate to that person, i can barely get 1 kill" **scrolls past scam video...
There is also something in between. The account level or character level doesn't matter. My son has an account on switch he is 5 y o, can't shoot and don't want to, can not do crazy movements. He loves driving a car and up the hill and going around the map in battle royale. He has not had any kill so far. His lobbies will not going to get any harder for a good reason. He plays creative games which he gets most of the XP from but the battle royale lobbies are going to be easy because of kill and death ratio and data saved per gameplay like accuracy and just basically anything you do in battle royale how you play is going to determine what lobbies you get.
I do bot lobbies to easily farm my battle pass as I don't play enough to complete it otherwise. Definitely prefer lobbies with at least some humans tho
Yep. It’s fine to use it to level up and get the perks of the battle pass easier. But farming kills for views is a bit of a grey area. It’s all entertainment and 90% of the entertainment we see of B.S. so I don’t really care.
@14:58 - The extra account you make the party leader needs to have its Career Level stay at 1. Your season level is on the Play tab, and your Career Level is on the Career tab in the bottom lefthand corner. Even if your extra account gets to level 2, it will start to give you less and less bots. And when a new season starts, there is some sort of mechanic that automatically levels up your account a bit, so you have to make a new extra account when the season changes, if you want strictly bot lobbies.
Hey Jake! About 14:50. I actually play duos with my girl, she plays from the switch and I use pc. I’m lvl 230+ and she’s closing in on 70 bc of how much we’ve played, and I still get mostly bots!! I do get real players here and there but I’d say it’s about 85% bots and the real players aren’t that great. Not sure if that helps to understand the system better, but it’s been my experience so far!
Faking for getting more views it's just to prove that these RU-vidrs are not actually good at the game and really can't provide much information or tips on how to become better at the game. It's pretty limited satisfaction after all if this person feels so hyped up about killing bots and there is an audience for that which are mostly children I guess. Kinda boring to be honest. But you're doing well Jake, always legit, informative, showing good tips and tricks which always helpful to viewers. There aren't many people on RU-vid who can compete with you Jake 🏆

It's an age gap thing. Older gamers (and YT watchers in general) can spot some lying, bs, or just unrealistic scenarios a mile away. Watch any reaction/prank YT short or something where everyone is clearly in on it and the acting is horrible...half the comments call it out in a well-articulated fashion, and half of them are just people laughing/spamming emojis and stuff. Old vs young people, respectively. My niece is 10 and eating up YT content sadly and everything she shows me is such BS but she loves it and tells me it's all true and wants to do it. I just roll my eyes. Same thing with gaming. We know...but the younger crowd who just doom scroll eat it up and it gets more views. Sadly it shouldn't be this way, but it is. Can't blame the content creators for maximizing their views despite a different group of people being completely turned off by it.
Is there any way to reset the assigned buttons for the jetpack? I hover and get in a firefight and wind up pushing down on the controller and landing. A similar thing happened last season when I would ride in the jeep and it would keep changing seats because was pushing down during a fight. It's a hard thing to stop doing and need a remedy.
That doesn't always work anymore, dragging an alt that you have dip out. I had a friend who swore by it. Then, we'd get wrecked in trios. It didn't help he was also a terrible player, so it was me carrying or failing. 😅😂
Agree with Jake. Dont care if people want to play bot lobbies or have alt accounts etc, doesnt effect me at all but not cool deceiving people, more so newer players as anyone whos played the game a while can spot a bot a mile off and if they started watching one of these "high kill videos" would simply switch it strait off, seeing it for the garbage it is. Stick with EJ, best Fortnite content creator out there by far! It’s just simple math. How would one come across so many people in one lobby in a single game? I can’t even believe someone getting 30 kills in a game. Thats 1/3 of a lobby.
I only use this method for completing quests.. im in the mid to mid-high skill level and sometimes just running quests is a pain in the ass because of hot dropping and certain POIs i have to go to..
My daughter and I use a level 1 account to play against bot lobbies and get all of our quests done, use all the different weapons, and just have fun. I don't know why you would pass that off as "real" skill based kills, but if you can get clicks and monetize it, then well done, I suppose. I assumed that was the case whenever the RU-vid algorithm promoted a thumbnail with stupid numbers.
I watched the video weeks before you posted this. I was getting massive deja vu until I realized I already watched it. This video was also where I learned about the player name in the upper left corner during team matches. This does have the problem of playing with people above a players skill level if they are one of the other teams not doing this. Apart from that, no biggie. For a time, Fortnite was promoting all brand new players to level 2 right away, but I'm not sure if they are still doing this.
I think a lot of my problem with this isn't just that it's an audience of children, but humans tend to compare ourselves to others in a negative way, especially children. Its concerning to think about children not only falling for this, but holding themselves up to this standard to experience inevitable disappointment.
I honestly miss waterbending and I didn't have much of an issue fighting against it but the magento mythic needs to go as everyone just spams them in zero builds. What's worse is that shield bubbles don't even block it wtf
New Fortnite accounts get bot lobbies for their first five levels. Everything over that will be real matches based on SBMM. The player drop their “ALT” account out of the match before the bus leaves. The bot account is literally back in the lobby.
I saw a video of a guy who said he makes new accounts after every 10 games or so so as to always play easier games. He didn’t want to get better, he just liked playing casually.
I honestly don't think bot lobbies are good for training or what not. Like don't get me wrong I wish you could hop into one without doing some tricky nonsense, but there's a very clear recklessness that comes with playing in these lobbies that I don't think is going to help you at all when you play with actual players. It gets you into a habit of playing kind of sloppy because you don't actually have to worry about some cracked guy third partying you. Like a big tip off with some of these videos back in season 1 and 2 of this chapter was these dudes clearly weren't playing like there was a chance that they would just get reaper sniper rifle'd in the head if they stayed in one spot for too long.
I always have around a 30% win rate by the end of the season, and have so for the last few chapters no matter how much or little I have played. That's one aspect that I noticed when it comes to the matchmaking and how it essentially is a rigged system, much like gambling really.
It is confirmed that true new accounts get 100% bot lobbies and crowns DISABLED. What this player has to be doing, is using a very very low level account to get some new players in the lobby, or there would be no crowns. I find it funny because I checked out this players videos before and immediately could tell by his gameplay alone, that he was not fighting real players.
Bot lobby accounts actually dont need to be leader in a party, the only requirement is theyre a new account made this season and cannot level past 10 or bot lobby access is gone
Happened across a live stream a while back where the streamer was asked how he always manages to go against easy players. He said he pays thousands monthly to get only bronze lobby's for better content. Might be a thing.
Although i really like the magnetos and im one of those annoying players yall see in the last circle flying up and absolutely destroying with them from above, id like it if most of the time there weren't any broken items like that in the game. Id rather it be like last chapter where we just had rare guns that were pretty good. Waterbending, nitrofists, magnetos, they are all annoying and especially fighting anyone in that greenwater! So annoying.
Good video! Has anyone noticed a lot of hackers in fn tournaments? Wall hacks and aim botting. Just spectating I noticed a lot on these tournaments but none on public matches. P.s. i do get the Action Taken and Investigation complete saying action was taken on players reported if you thought I'm just reporting every player that's good.
Been saying this for like 8 years people been revseee boosting since cod. People like swag and a lot of those faze people got rich off it. Streamers like Avery and some others reverse boost and play trios or squads because there’s more AI than in a solos. So yea. Nice to see someone make a vid about this.
Use a switch or a phone this way if it eventually levels you will still have soft lobbies. The lobbies will have people but not many. I have a buddy who uses a switch to solo squad all the time. Every now and again there is someone who doesn't belong in the match and you can yell they are smurfing

The name in the corner thing I believe doesn't really have anything to do with you being in a party. It happens because you are in a team mode. At least that's what I believe is the case. I could be wrong. lol.
Even if you couldn't tell guys are bots, and the top left corner is covered it's pretty clear he's not playing solos when he knocks people down instead of eliminating them. EDIT: I just realized that that's a way to tell that he's queued up with a teammate, rather then queueing solo in squads. I didn't realize initially, my bad.
This dude outed his self in this Fortnite community game group I was apart of lol he posted a screen shot of his kill count/win and he had an account with his in game name with “bot” at the end. His “bot” account had no kills lmfaooooo I think it’s funny that people actually do stuff like this for the views and hype
