One of my favorite parts of Warhammer 40k lore is that Imperial temples, cathedrals, and fortress monasteries will likely have actual choirs of serfs or even servitors physically wired into the architecture whose sole purpose is to drone out monastic chants all day every day. So those buildings will have actual ambiance music like this.
holy emps i never considered this, they probably do have vox servitors singing gregorian plainchant or maybe even some organum all the gosh darn day till their bodies decay or their throats fall out
Highly impractal, a wast of ressources, but have you noticed how well it fits with the architecture brother? Now come, we must load the torpedoes with gothic inscription of them, and with windows sculpted on the sides
@@Sir_Bucket What is Imperium if not a highly impractical waste of resources? Besides at least in Mechanicum or in Rouge Trader fleets, being directly merged with your workstation is a sign of highest devotion and deserves our utmost respect.Of course, this being Absurdhammer, most mergers do so to atone for their sin of existence
Yup. This is stated in many 40k novels. Servo-skulls and cybernetic Cherubs are also mentioned to be typical decorations that fly around, chant and release holy incense from burners. i.pinimg.com/originals/86/48/d7/8648d7c8323d21ab6233ffc6aa4b518a.jpg img.fireden.net/tg/image/1501/64/1501643945822.png A type of chanting is also mentioned to be used in some Imperial boarding craft. A servitor built directly into the troop compartment interior would chant from a vox speaker implanted into it's gaping mouth. Changing high pitched chants relayed basic information to the troops, such as how close the craft was to impacting it's target.
Imperial Design is so over the top its funny.... " Sir, just finished the design of this emperor class titan, what do you think? " " You know what its missing..... It needs a twenty story Cathedral on its back! "
It's not over the top, it's there to inspire the troops and raise morale. It's a fucking game changer. A tank is just a weapon of war, but when you add a church onto it, it suddenly becomes a holy artifact. The imperium isn't just waging war, it's waging a HOLY war. It's the fucking crusades.
GOD IS DEAD You’re right, brother. Let’s mount this overly cumbersome Fuckhuge cathedral ontop of this already gargantuan Titan. That’ll show those heretics.
It's strange that that is their overarching motto because that statement goes against the very vision the Emperor had for the Space Marines. "They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest guns will they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no sickness will blight them. They will have tactics, strategies and machines such that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear. " - The Emperor of Mankind I guess you could argue that was before we had Nurgle, Tzeentch, Khorne, Slaanesh, Necrons and Tyranids.
@@ChaosxSpacexMarine I mean, technically it's the same thing. He just didn't want them to straight-up die within five minutes of fighting stuff because it's "His will"
One must always keep forging on the sword that is the mind, but sometimes one must stop fanning the flames of the forge or else the weapon becomes misshapen, unwieldy and a mockery of wat it could have been.
I've got a solution in the meanwhile. Right click once or twice and there's a loop feature for you. Enjoy your infinite hours loop, depending on battery life, of course. Or, if on mobile, dump it in a playlist on its own and set the playlist to Repeat.
Well...Catholic Hymns would be correct. The people who write Warhammer 40K use Latin as the go to for "High Gothic" in the 40K universe. Everyone else who don't speak High Gothic speak a form of Low Gothic....Low Gothic meaning "English" or some other Dialect. There are many different forms of Low Gothic.
It's sad to you because it comes from a place inside of you, a primal urge to be part of something timeless, immortal. You seek order in a world that holds up only the facade of order. You know that there is something off about the world we live in. Something about this last 100-200 years of our history just seems.. weird. What is it. It's almost as if a parasite took hold of the Western world. Is life really all about consuming products, watching colorful animations, going into that eternal sleep after a life of superficial endeavors?
@@horriblecunt6737 no its just sad because of the emperor's story being a tragedy. Why does everyone have to make everything about today's economic system and "society"
Quod est officium tuum? What is your duty? Ad serve ad voluntatem imperatoris! To serve the emperors will! Quod ad voluntatem imperatoris? What is the emperors will? Quod non pugnare et mori! That we fight and die! Quid est mors? What is death? Nostrum officium! It is our duty!
For official purposes, yeah. It's called High Gothic and is mostly used by the Ecclesiarchy, Inquisition and in other ceremonial Imperial functions (like Space Marines). Everyone usually just uses Low Gothic, so not many people speak/read it.
shut it heretic, the surroundings might be mighty and golden, but the soul is to be humble and at the same time the emperor represents might and power, so you will have to be humble and also you will have to be royal
You are slaves to an emperor that betrayed you, free yourself! Through the power of the Gods the astartes are destined to rule mortal man. EMBRACE CHAOS AND YOUR DESTINY...Brother
My younger brother: "Shut that! I can't listen to that shit!" Me: "Heretic! You will feel Emperors wrath upon you!" *took my slipper off to smack chaos out of him
Ironically, they could probably be more relatable to the regular Guardsman or Sister compared to Sapamanders since BT’s, to my knowledge, are one of the only chapters that actually worship the Emperor.
I wear the heraldic cross proudly upon my chest, where other lesser chapters would wear only the Emperor’s Aquila. We do not wear His symbol. We *are* His symbol.
Damien Killani aye? It's as it says. Im a heretical blood raven who is still devoted to the emperor! I also attended slaneshi parties once in a while and I pay child support across twenty planets.
This is pure art. Got me through good and bad days. Keept me inspired for painting. This ambiance still is and will be special for me. Thank you Cloud Of Judgement for this music.
@@sonfieldthehedgecat6121 Its a interesting idea, given the lore it wouldnt be absurd, this might be inspired from our own world where following the collapse of the western roman empire the barbarians and western nations that emerged tried to emulated it,the language of adm was latin, the church was based in Rome, etc. Even the reinessance was kickstarted by knowledge brought west following the collapse of the Eastern Roman Empire.
@Reverend Krieger Durden Tyler sr How do you know that "skrubs" are invited? How would talking get dangerous? Dont tell me they can touch you through the monitor :)))
ambient music, which combines an excellent atmosphere of profound solemnity, which releases a certain force in transmitting the enigmatic dark side of the musical rhythm and choral voices.
I fell into a deep sleep whilst listening to this. I laid down at 1 AM on Friday, and did not wake until 10:58 PM Saturday. It was the first refreshing, peaceful rest I had in years.
We are the Emperor's Finest. Faith is our shield. Hate is our weapon. We shall know no fear. We are the Adeptus Astartes. We are the Angels of death. Our war is endless. Our Crusade is eternal.
What is your Duty? To serve the Emperor's Will. What is the Emperor's Will? That we fight and die. What is Death? It is our duty. What is your Duty? ...
Blessed be the God Emperor, Let All Praise Be Given To Him, Let His Light Guide Your Actions, And His Let Wishes Be Done For Only In Death Does Duty End. Ave Imperator Inexcelcus Terra
Look to your battle gear and it will protect you. We guard it with our lives. Your armour is your soul, and your soul's dedication is its armour. The soul of the warrior is the protector of humanity. Honour the craft of death. Only the Emperor is higher in our devotion. Honour the battle gear of the dead. We ask only to serve.
Bear not the yoke of heretical desire, battle-brothers. Supplant thy chaotic burdens with the will of the Emperor, made manifest in you. Each round from your boltgun shall be his piercing indictment of the Ruinous Powers, and each piece of armor you wear shall be a testament to his unending fortitude. The sheened steel of your blades shall lash out against the enemies of mankind, imbued with his millennia of wrath. For each of his sons and daughters the darkness consumes, we shall take tenfold more away from the darkness. No traitors and no Xenos shall be spared his judgement, and we shall carry it forth as his arbiters. Fearless, ruthless and deathless in the light of the Emperor!
