I don't usually comment but you are honestly the best virtual instructor out there; the combination of explaining things thoroughly and the animation graphic works wonderfully and really easy to understand. I hope you get a lot more subscribers and likes because you well deserve it!
I have my drivers license, but I’ve not driven since the day I passed my test. Love watching these videos just so I can keep up to date, and not forget what I learned
I've only recently started driving and I've been passed for 2 and a half years. Only because I didn't need a car then and now I do. I've started watching his videos and they are really useful :)
Hi Richard, I passed my test today and your videos played a massive part, my instructor unfortunately let me down ( after milking me per lesson and spending a whole lesson just on how to use the mirrors!) I used your video to learn without an instructor all manoeuvres and all correct mirror checks! ( had them on repeat) Thank you!!
I recently passed my test and just bought my first car today. Watching your videos really gave me that extra confidence on my journey to getting on the roads. Thanks dude!
as a Valet driver I must say this is some of the best tips you can get for forward parking Especially the bit about over shooting a spot being better than under shooting
i passed my test about a month and a half ago but I sometimes find manoeuvering very challenging and parking in tight spaces without a lot of room for error. this video gives a lot of great rules of thumb and I found it very useful. thank you :)
You are probably the most informative and best person who explains driving and manoeuvres on the whole of RU-vid. This is genuinely a god send. My driving lessons have been messed up because of covid so I’m spending the time between driving watching your videos and soaking up all in information so I Can put it in to practice when I’m ready!
Conquer Driving I have. I’m slowly watching through all your videos. They are extremely helpful. Thank you for putting so much effort in to all of your videos. 🙏🏻
Honestly, I am really grateful for your guidance in this. I was really struggling with the manoeuvres in forward bay parking because my driving instructor would constantly yell at me for getting it wrong. I was losing my motivation for driving as he kept saying I should drive like a man and not a woman, constantly comparing me to his other students and telling me the opposite of the road rules e.g. speed in moderation but will tell you you're going slow when he tells you it's fast when it's the speed limit. I'm hoping I pass tomorrow thanks to your videos. I learnt more driving from this channel than my countless hours of driving lessons. Thank you for helping me and so many others. I appreciate it very much.
Must watch the video after 6 mins. It's a wonderful parking tip n can avoid any failure in forward parking even with less driving practice. Excellent information for the new drivers!
Watching this about 2 weeks after passing my test first time. This channel was so helpful in the buildup to my test, and its so good now that I’ve passed to get more and more confident.
If it is your own car, do what ever you want. Who cares if you damage your own car? Go for it! A driving instructor has to do these things many times a day, every day. Easy to not dry steer. Anyone can do it properly if they practice.
As a mechanic of many years, the extra strain on the components is completely negligible and not even worth mentioning, definitely not to the degree that people say it does. I've never had a car fail an mot based on dry steering component wear. It's just not a thing.
I don't know what I would've done without this channel! All the questions I have before I watch the video, is always answered by the end of the video. Thank you and keep up the awesome content!!
I was watching this a couple months ago and wasn't learning to drive at the time now watching again makes more sense I didn't understand too much before but now I'm learning more and more makes my life easier thanks to this channel ❤ Ty 💯 wished I lived closer to try get you as my instructor 😞 I believe mines taking the Mickey always on he's phone.
Thanks for all your help and advice you are best teacher 😊 I really appreciate all the kind words! I am pleased to say that I passed my test first time 😀 Good luck to everyone else who is taking their driving test in the near future!!!
I will not say how great you are because every one knows that But I’d have to say every thing I didn’t find answer or explanation for it , I automatically opens your videos ❤
Great videos. Like watching these. I can get into the tighter spots, but getting out does scare me with any type of parking. I often find myself lucky that a car around me just exited the parking spot. 😅
Aaah man, I've had my license for more than 2 years but haven't driven, now I've got a car I feel like I have to learn and practice again (which is fine) today I tried to park between a car and a pillar. I went forward too early so I was too close to the car next to me 😅 I was so close I was stuck. Luckily someone came and helped
Brilliant video! Incredibly clear, concise, friendly and build confidence. So glad I found your channel, will go away and watch a lit more now. Thank you!
Thank you:) just come across your videos as I’m getting ready for my test this month. My last test at the end I ended up going too far forward and failed, so taking all advice to not do this again.
My instructor said that you can’t correct a forward bay park(like you can’t reverse or anything), but from your video we can reverse if we mess up by turning too late?
Very useful video with great real-life practice and supporting virtual visuals! Thanks. I would like to ask how to benefit from additional mirrors while front parking. Is there any special mirror that can make front parking easier? I am very good at reverse parking however my front parking always needs minor adjustment so I want to make at one-go with the help of mirrors, sensors or any useful tools.
I'm afraid the mirrors aren't much help when you're going in forwards as you can't see the lines until you're in. Sometimes you can't see the lines at all.
Hi, thank you again for this great video. I was just wondering that if you did get into the bay wonkey and wanted to correct your position, are you allowed to reverse back out and come back in? Also, does this same rule apply for all manoeuvres ( ie correcting mistakes)?
Great video, but the thumbnail is a bit misleading in regards to the turn distance. You said we need to be as far away as possible and it looks like the car is close to the bay it’s going in to. Anyway, thanks for your help :)
Thank you so very much for these super informative and educational videos! You’re a wonderful teacher and address stuff my teacher back in the day didn’t. I passed my test four years ago but will only start driving next year, and your videos are really helping with preparing myself to drive my first car!
it’s a week until my driving test today, for some reason pulling into a bay is what i struggle with the most, reverse bay park is easy i don’t know why i find pulling in so difficult lol
Good luck with your test, I find going forwards into the bay the hardest also as you can't see the bay once you start going into it. The car's design is suited for reversing in.
This's a great explanation. Thanks so much. I have a problem with my driving, I am always too wide when I overtake parked cars, thetefore, I get over the central line and almost on the other side of the road!!! This happened to me last week and the drivers on the right ( oncoming traffic on the other side of the road) beeped his horn at me as I was on his way. I asked my instructor but he keeps saying 'you need to judge' but as a learners driver I don't have that experience to judge the distance, thought will ask you as I always find a solution for my problems in your channel. Can you please give me some tips on how to judge the distance when overtaking??
You're welcome. Watch my video on passing parked cars, this gives advice on how to judge if you can fit in the available space. When it comes to judging your position, I need to do a video on this, but essentially you want to feel you're walking ever so slightly right of your space, as if you're actually walking. You can't think about the car you're in as it looks bigger than it is. Most people struggle with this to begin with but then your brain adapts over time.
@@ConquerDriving OMG!! Thank you so much. Seriously saying thank you is not enough, you're great! It was a blessing that I found your channel, I learn from you a lot more than my instructor. Wish you were my instructor. The only thing I can say THANK YOU so much again and God bless you for helping people my friend 😄😊😄
Im from Colchester, and I spent an hour parking in that car park with my driving instructor.. A SOLID HOUR I find driving in is a lot easier than reversing in.. In a driving test does it matter if you need to come back out or whatever to correct your parking so you do end up in the bay..? (keeping correct control of the car and good observations) Nice video :)
Yghhh, I see! I've been watching the video wondering why on earth it looked so similar. I'm in Colchester too and always practising my parking there😂 Anyway, hope you passed ( if you took it)
Thanks for the video. This is nice explanation. I also found it common on some areas that parks like those can have an upward and downward slope, yet there is not yet any videos that in my sense of awareness that I could find. Can you help me out?
For parking on hills it's the same method, you just need to be able to control the vehicle on hills, these videos may help: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O3cTlwMytfU.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BmM-fO5AFHc.html
I don't understand why parking forward into a bay is even considered, reverse in drive out, should be the norm, it is easier, and safer, to drive out than it is to reverse out. People who say they can't reverse in will surely have difficulty reversing out as you have to watch not only for other cars on the car park but also all four corners of your car too.
They included forwards into a bay on the test as it allowed them to drop the two old manuoevres: 3 point turn and reverse round the corner. The reason for this decision was to allow more test routes to include country roads as this has the highest number of casualties yet manoeuvres rarely result in casualties. Also, there are times when driving forwards into a bay is more appropriate, I do this at supermarkets as it's easier to put things in the boot. However if I don't need to access the boot I will reverse in.
@@ConquerDriving thank you for your response to my comment. I realise the two manoeuvres you refer to have been dropped from the test, I have always considered them potentially risky manoeuvres to carry out, parallel and bay parking much more sensible to include. However, I stick by my original comment reverse in drive out, you only have to see the number of people that drive into their driveway then have to reverse out, sometimes on to a busy main road. I have never in 60 years of driving had a problem loading my boot, a tad inconvenient at times, but never a problem.
I encourage my pupils to get out and check if they're unsure of space. Better to get out and have a look than leave your car in an awkward position. It's nothing to be ashamed of and I do it myself sometimes. Doing this is not a fail on test, make sure you secure the car (parking brake and neutral) and turn the engine off before getting out to check. You may still fail though if you take too many attempts, take too long, have poor observations or fail to complete the manoeuvre.
@@ConquerDriving I appreciate you taking the time to provide a thorough explanation. It's good to know that as even if i think I'm in a good position I can still get out to verify.
I am get anxious scared when it comes to driving on highway. Please share your thought and help me clear my driving test for G license. You can encourage someone with your voice. One sub from me
Hi Richard, bay parking isn’t test content in Australia ~ so I started to practice this morning, somehow my car just never can stop parallel to the line - always kind of have an angle… was it because I started too close to the parking bay? I can park in..just don’t feel right ..
It's hard to say without seeing you do it, try not to do it in one, I often reverse out again and go back in to make sure I'm straight. Reversing back out will help you see the lines again. Forward bay parking is difficult.
Hi mate, Can I always choose the reverse parking under this situation in the exam? Since I think reverse parking could use 2 mirrors which are more easy to park.
You can't choose your reversing exercise in the exam. The examiner will choose for you. But you may use whichever method you like to complete the manoeuvre.
Hello, this is a great video, love the graphics! I've been trying to do forward bay parking for my past few lessons, but despite the practice I'm still really struggling with knowing the correct reference point for the car I'm driving! My instructor tells me to line my body up with the space before the one I'm going into, and I do this, but it doesn't always work! The car I drive is quite small, and I'm quite far forward in the car as I only have little legs lol! Do you have any tips for the reference point in my situation?! Thanks in advance x
Focus on the centre of the space you want and aim for your left knee to be in the centre. You can't see the lines when you start going in so imagine the centre point further forward before they go out of view. As for when to steer, steering late is better than early as easier to correct as mentioned in this video.
