I think FM4 and FH1 achieved their own respectable goals because they knew to determine their audiences. FM4 was loaded with relevant race cars at the time, and it reached to the real motorsport fans like me. FH1 also worked because it was able to escape that "realism" FM series offered and they gave proper story and goals so you actually know what to do unlike FH4 and above
Motorsport 4 reached multiple audiences. My cousin played it for the lm1 and gt race cars, my dad played it because he worked for ford so just drove the ford cars. Me and my friends just loved tuner cars and would spend hours building fast and furious style cars, that's why I don't even play the new games, there's like zero tuner cars or generic civilian cars you can modify. It's all the top level trim of every car and one of the turn10 CEO said they did this on purpose cause " why would anyone want multiple trims of one car " hahahaha what a clueless jobber
Sadly I didn't have an Xbox 360 when it was current, so I never got to experience the online features of FM4. Those custom multiplayer lobbies really look amazing. Sadly a lot of franchises have moved away from that for whatever reason. Need for Speed Most Wanted and Carbon also had custom lobbies where you could pick any track and turn off collision or nitrous if you wanted to. In modern NFS games you are a lot more restricted, if they even have a proper multiplayer mode at all. The Crew 1 also had more options for PvP than The Crew 2. In NFS Carbon and The Crew 1 I played in some online tournaments that were organized by the community. In the more recent games from those franchise that isn't happening anymore because those games don't have the modes and the options that we would need for it.
Custom lobbies & servers kinda went out of fashion after the 360/PS3 era and standard matchmaking became prominent. I‘m fine with standard matchmaking but it always puts a smile in my face when there‘s options. Also yeah about classic NFS; I think damn near every single one came with standard matchmaking with settings/server browsers out the box just because thats how it was the norm back then. I also loved how some of them had LAN support which helped keep MP alive through third-party programs (EXCEPT for Carbon, how the hell did they just forget on that one lmao)
You aren't the only one skeptical or unexcited about this release. To me T10 is simply a terrible developer. It all went downhill after Fm4 and they know it too. It's been clear for a while that they wanted a Horizon type game instead, and it obviously sells way better to casuals. There is a way to make FM work, but like you mentioned in the vid, they refuse or are simply unable to put requested features back in the series. They also have a horrible reputation for trying to make new features that no one wants or asked for, yet honestly believes it's better for the game. For instance the upgrade system in new Forza. I happen to think the upgrade system is a way to hide PI flaws as most players find performance PI bugs with every iteration almost instantly, but now it acts as a barrier to test cars/upgrades...making these things a lot harder to test. Literally anything T10 can do to shortcut making an actual good game, they'll usually take that route and just hope no one notices or cares.
Modern day Turn 10 are an absolute joke, and shouldn’t be allowed to touch the Motorsport franchise again. It should be ripped from their hands, and Microsoft should find a developer that isn’t bullshit.
Fm4 and FH1 were my introduction to a “mainstream” racing title, and I really think the manufacturer bias would be a good introduction for this reboot since it seems like the Car points you can spend is locked by car level. HokiHoshi and yourself seem to be some of the only RU-vidrs giving this a chance and honestly I only had to pay $35 to get a slight starting advantage, however I won’t be too mad if this game turns into a crap shoot.
Yep, thats on the list :) All the big titles that are Woo-inspired you can think of will be represented. I wanted to make that video since for video games at least, a general "Gun-Fu" guide video doesn‘t exist. Only for movies.
Absolutely epic video! I wanted to create something similar but would have never got around to it, ahaha. You nailed exactly why the new FM title will not beat FM4. Thanks for using my footage at 8:30! I loved hearing your perspective on why FM4 was the best entry. I still play FM4 to this day, and if anyone is keen, let's get a multiplayer lobby going while it's still active!
Thanks again, also for letting me use the footage. Getting videos of all the stuff you don‘t have access anymore is insanely hard due to the servers or the game just being buried by "Horizon 4" RU-vid suggestions instead.
@@ptrcrispy FYI, I have more footage and live stream the game a lot. Literally just played it last night, starting an entirely new game for viewers. I'm on the hunt to get 3 copies to use with 3 Xbox 360's and a Fanatec CSR wheel setup on triple monitors!
Forza Motorsport 3 its my favorite forza of all time, because of the most realistic physics, career mode and dificulty, but Forza Motorsport 4 its a close one because of the engine sounds, speed feeling and the multiclass races.....and because it has the McLaren F1 roadcar but thats its secondary. But i hate 1 thing about this game. It didnt had a "Ultimate Edition" like Forza 2 or 3 so, if you didnt buy the dlc before youre fucked up, i say that because i have the essentials edition that only have 70% of the game. sry for my bad english
Love the video. Now please, transfer the Porsche DLC on USB stick, send the files to me so i can try making it work on my console. FM4 is my all time favorite and its painful playing without Porsches 😢
Jesus Christ what the hell were they thinking with motorsport? I am one of those people, who have been asking for quality over quantity for years, proper progression and a more immersive career like experience, for years. GT4 or FM4 is what I had in mind….not this random, left field individual car levelling 🤦♂️🤦♂️ We had the masterpiece of FM4 over a decade ago, and we’re being given this trash in 2023. I wouldn’t mind if they had a limited development timeline but they had 6 years! 6 years of development and quotes like “built from the ground up” only to result in a re fried FM7 with over 10 less tracks, over 200 less cars, the same dim witted AI, a very odd weather system, where you’re sometimes able to race on a blatantly soaked track on slicks and it grips up fine; and just to top it off an utterly bizarre levelling system that doesn’t feel like progression but just straight tedium. I mean what the absolute fuck?! Oh and one last point (considering that this is supposed to be the simulator end of Forza products) being that this game has clearly had a major sound downgrade from FH5. The gaming industry at the moment is fucked! We had cyberpunk 2077, then the utter sham that was Dying light 2 and now this…..
Yeah from what I've seen people aren't too happy about it. Some positive stuff in regards to online apparently but lack of content, tuning progression not being good and overall lack of optimization on PC. But hey 2023 gives you a ton of alternative games to play honestly
We need more NEED FOR SPEED Advertise.. CRITERION and EA they ve been focusing on battlefield from now on... They apparently Charge the pot and Attendance... In any case, due the Qualität of the last Releases maybe a break of 3 to 5 years can Do good at the franchise... or as long as Criterion die along the way. I would love if Microsoft Studios will take over or the guys from Ex Blizzard interaktive ( PGR4
Yeah the best way is to emulated project Forza 4 plus and getting Forza 7 coz the reboot reminds me of GT aspec but worse here's hoping they completely changed the game or get the next one right coz it's a dud
