I always start at the back. I dont feel safe starting at the front of the pack because classic forza first turn shenanigans. Its fun putting pressure on players and fighting my way up the grid
Is it just me or do the cars in front lose some grip as soon as you get close to them? Edit: also at 11:29 you lost grip as soon as the car behind you got close
That penalty system looks like an unfiltered rage generator. What on Earth were they thinking with this game? The just gave us all the finger, and then decided to rub it in with this penalty system.

Another wild Forza launch 🤣 yeah I watched the Forza Monthly stream and the devs they had on kept saying how PROUD they are of the fixes in the next update. I think it would have been better to be PROUD of putting a game out without the bugs in the first place. Forza logic.
I think you have to race at the right times of the day when kids are in school and at night when the drunks are ready to pass out . I was in a race in the GT class on forza and I started 23 and by the time we hit the end of the first strait there was so many crashes I went into the first turn and was in 6th place but that did not get me out of that turn someone took me out. So almost three fourths of the cars had been taken out on the first strait.
I’ve been starting from the rear on purpose so I can avoid the T1 shenanigans. Whenever I qualify high on the grid, I get punted into the shadow realm. But starting from the back you just get to pass all the idiots that are bashing each other
What game can I play that has a similar matchmaking or multiplayer system but that has way better gameplay? I play assetto corsa but it is so hard to set up and find races. Is there anything like that?

Skill rating seems like a complete lie or not working, in my experience the quality of the races and opponents went down when going from low 4k to high 4k sr
Starting at the front is worse. At least when you start at the back of the grid you can avoid all of the chaos easier. From the front you catch all of it going into the first turn.
Starting from the back is actually the best spot to be. I’ll probably never get first but atleast I’m not getting sent to the moon and avoiding game pad kids with no sense of track awareness is difficult on wheel😂
Devon did a video trying to get the lowest rating possible and he still got matched with a player that had 4900. He apparently asked him after that player won the race. I think the ratings are just a number and it just matches first come first served in your region or something.
8:38 That car cut over exactly how it does if you set all the assists on for ai to drive for you. Wouldn’t surprise me if some folks just turn the assists on and just leave the game to do something else.
In my experience, the skill rating only helps at the upper end. I'm S safety rating at just over 4800 skill rating and the races are pretty damn clean. I jumped on my dad's account to help him with some achievments. He barely touched multiplayer so I was racing at S safety rating and around 2500-3500 skill rating. The races were an absolute nightmare, especially for those achievements. Who the hell knows. For me, it seems like safety rating has almost no impact on opponents, and it's all based on skill rating. Although, I would imagine your skill rating is pretty damn up there as well.
First of all, epic profile pic! Second, yeah I've seen much the same thing. I've done some races with buddies at lower skill ratings but S tier safety and its like the world is ending every race.
The whole system is a big BS. Im at 4950 right now with A rating (i have the 10 races' achivement with S rating), but all of my lobbies are full of rammers and incompetent fellows, it seems the rating system means literary nothing.
@DenHviteBaldr I'm curious: which series are you mostly doing? I've been doing the Touring Car and M3 Spec series' and finding cleaner races. I've found Forza GT to be the most chaotic, so far.

The funny part is the AI duplicates this same behavior. Trying to start from the back with constant break checking and agro AI on level 6 and all assist off is a blast 😐
No matter your skill rating or safety rating, not qualifying is the worst thing you can do or not do rather. I've been doing the starting from the back and over 80% of the time my race is ruined by rammers. Also I HATE you have to drive 3 laps to qualify. In GT7, you only need one! 3 is just overkill. Let us do it in 1 but if we want to keep going, we can!
You only need to set 1 lap time to qualify out of the 3 laps, you don’t need to do all 3 qualification laps. Just go back into practice after doing qualification if there’s extra time left.
People think they’re gonna get from 12th to first in one lap, unwilling to be patient and just race the people around you, it ls usually unlikely your gonna move up to 1st from 10th, also not ALL corners are passing opportunities..
I don't think skill or safety rating ends up meaning anything with the 'reverse dirty air' effect in the game to impersonate close racing. Everyone smashes at the back because you lose downforce when someone is close behind you, causing everyone to lose control as the cars become inconsistent.
