@@thadmaster7 I have a question is a cartoon better being episodic or having a story cause I loved a show called teen titans as a kid but I was confused when watching at first because there was an ongoing story and kim possible and phineas and ferb are two of my favories and their episodic so do you agree with the higher ups decision or not
Facts: According to one interview, Tara Strong she mentioned herself that she outright hates her role of voicing the male character Terrance from Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends because they messed up her vocals while voice acting to him was not good due to Terrance's deeper and stronger voice.
American Dragon, Jake Long & Danny Phantom: never heard or watched it. Ben 10 Classic: Nothing can beat the original classic series of Ben 10, is too memorable and iconic!
Same here. I tried to get into this show, but I never did since most of the time, every character is such a cruel asshole towards each other (even though they're all supposed to be "friends"), especially in Foster's Goes to Europe, Imposter's Home For Um... Make 'Em Up Pals, I Only Have Surprise For You, and most notably, Everybody Knows It's Bendy. And if you like this show, I can respect that, but mean spiritness is something that NEVER sits well with me.
Foster's Goes To Europe isn't even a terrible episode. It's honestly pretty funny mostly until the last few minutes where Madame Foster steals the tickets. Had the ending not been that mean it wouldn't be so hated
@@cartoonfanatic Maybe, but after Frankie found out that it was Madame Foster who stole Mac's tickets for Europe, NO ONE apologizes to Mac nor feels bad for scolding and blaming Mac for losing the tickets to Europe. It almost feels like that the show really hates Mac and that he should probably run away and never come back after the constant mistreatment he gets from the show. Besides, the show does have a lot of mean spiritness moments most of the time, to the point that it could make the show unwatchable for some people like me.
you know i think making a show good on a consistant basis is difficult and theres always going to be some episodes that are better than others but i feel like when fosters screws up it screws up really badly and the sad thing is as a kid i didn't even realize it you know i feel like kim possible was one of those shows that was consistantly good from begining to end more or less l like the 4th season @@VampireFan-rf5kb
That's a interesting topic, I remember having mixed feelings on this show as a child. Some episodes I really enjoyed and other I really disliked. But due to it's popularity I always assumed it must've been mostly good. This video kinda convinced me to give it a re-watch to reevaluate my feelings towards it. Also, as I kid I really disliked Goo, I disliked her so much in her first episode that every episode she was in after I would just skip.
@@StrawberryCocoaPowder I'm surprised there isn't more conversation about Cheese on the internet. I had a brother with brain damage irl that had some weirdly similar characteristics to Cheese (limited speech, panic attacks, overly repeating themselves). Makes me wonder if the creators knew the implications of portraying him mostly as a hustle to the protagonists.

As a 90s kid I loved shows like ed edd n eddy and courage the cowardly dog and stuff but fosters home wasn’t one of my favourites I saw it as filler programmes what you’d watch if there was nothing else on yeah it was ok to watch but wasn’t one of my favourites
I think people hold the "mean spirited" ball on this show too much to consider it bad. Like how most view 2000's shows as bad because of a "back in the day" mentality. As someone who is a fan of this show, yes I agree the show didn't exactly nail dark humor or unlikable characters well most of the time. I mean hell my favorite comedy tv show of all time is It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia, a show that thrives on this kind of humor. I mean lots of shows around the time Fosters was out had similar issues or rather bleak character likability, so I don't see what makes them any different. I mean would people say this is any worse than Dark Age Spongebob or Modern Family Guy? Or any of the stale raunchy badly animated adult cartoons immulating a similar style? And tbh I think Western Animation has hit a Dark Age since shortly before the Pandemic hit, because in reality how many new shows are discussed by community or how many shows have hit a sense of intrigue shows Pre-2020 did, there's like The Owl House, Infinity Train and a couple others, but that's about it. And also to be fair to Fosters, I'd rather like this show in comparison to the worst Seasons of OG PPG or MLP. I mean the mean spirited nature in a way provides it a sense of intrigue, when the show could do it right. I mean when people say characters like Terrence or Duchess are unlikable, I question if people know what intentional is because they are suppose to be antagonists, that being said it was a shame how underutilzed the became in the later seasons. As for the characters, this show doesn't have THAT big of a gap of unlikable/likable, I mean the likability outweights then unlikability. For me the only problematic ones are Bloo (at his worst) Mr Herriman, Jackie Khones and Madame Foster. And I find the latter 3 to be worse than Bloo, because Bloo's likability really depends on the plot Post Season 2. Some episodes his jerk nature is used well to kickstart the plot or generally provide mean humor to offset the positivity, at his worst he can halt the plot and generally be the main problem. Which is more than what I can say for Mr Herriman or Madame Foster, who had consistently unlikable moments post Season 1. And their worst moments are more egregious than Bloo. Frankie is hands down the most likable and relatable, and her short temper isn't an issue given all the people she's surrounded by and how hard her job is. Yeah she isn't safe from being written out of character, but that doesn't make her bad. That being said I DO agree this show squanders its potential later on, earlier it was fine. But after Season 4 I felt they had huge missed opportunities they just didn't take advantage of, Season 5 especially with over half of the episodes being dull or potential wasting. At the very least Foster's NAILED their specials and are among the best of any CN show. I also don't consider Goodbye to Bloo a finale, as the TV special Destination Imagination had a finale tone to it and was the last episode produced, just not aired.
I wouldn't say we're in a dark age as there have been a lot of really good shows that have been released in the past 3 years. A age age is an era like the 70s and 80s where there's only very few good animated shows released amoungst a number of bland/uninspired junk
The ironic thing is that Keith Ferguson would later go one to voice Lord hater in Wander over Yonder and I actually liked Hater more despite him being the villain!
During the month of september of 15 days I've already finished and bindge my watching the entire series of 6 seasons and 79 episodes of Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends from 12th-27th september in just 3 weeks straight up and the show itself wakes me up tons of nostalgic waves of good old memories and wonderful childhood. It it by far one of the most successful and greatest cartoon show of Cartoon Network from the 2000s era since I love the episodes, the premise, the music intro, the cast of characters, the interactions among them and that was the high peak of his popularity as we grew up with this show and it gives me the feeling of nostalgic childhood road trip memories and it deserves more love and attention to watch as we grew older this show makes our hearts melted for nostalgia vibes in our nostalgic childhood memories since this show it will be remembered for years and decades.😊
I totally 100% agree with you on "I Only Have Surprise For You". It it my most hated episode of any cartoon as well, and it is without a doubt, the absolute worst episode of the entire series. I dislike most of the series, because of it having too much bad episodes that are poorly written and badly executed. This show started off terribly in my opinion, because of the infamous scene where Mac's Mom blames and punishes Mac for something that was Terrence's fault, and Terrence got away with his actions scot-free, which comes off as unacceptable, because Mac did absolutely nothing wrong to begin with. Poor Mac never deserved the treatment he got in the actual series. I just don't understand why this show likes to torture and punish Mac for no reason at all. Some people who actually hate this show thinks it should be called "Foster's Home for Imaginary Jerks", considering the endless amounts of mean-spirited moments and episodes there are in the actual show itself.
@@NicholasRSims gross out humor doesnt have anything to do with mean spiritness tho, but youre right on the second one, i barely remembered a single episode where jake was punished, while i do remember a few times were bloo had consequences for his actions
@@hard-fard235 the closest to Jake getting punished was at the end of the episode where Adam was an unwittingly school prankster at the end both he and Jake have to clean up the aftermaths of the pranks and while Adam doesn't mind Jake is less than thrilled
I remember I used to like this show when I was a kid. But looking back, it's one of the meanest shows ever put on Cartoon Network. EVERYONE was an asshole in some way, making the heartfelt moments feel disingenuous and/or out of place. It's great if anyone else found enjoyment in it, but now I just see douchebags being assholes to each other for the sake of comedy.
bloo is an alright character. he is a horrible person but his antics are mostly funny and the fact he has a long criminal record is kinda amusing. despite me having bloo in my pfp i don't think this show is top 10 cn shows. i picked this pfp because bloo has such an asshole grin. this show can piss me off sometimes, like the clickbait europe episode and the gooball episode. there are many funny moments and good episodes i can't really hate it.
also mac is weird how he has barely any memorable character traits. most cn protags don't have this issue. like dexter has the ego the size of johnny sins' penis, blossom is a good leader but kinda bossy, numbuh 1 is all about the work and really dedicated to his job and so on and so on. mac has... uh he donates to frankie's only fans and he has a sugar rush sometimes. the show can be a bit too fast paced and loud and they put a bit too much focus on bloo i feel like. and all and all that's my fosters review. a creative show with many funny moments but sometimes it can be a bit too overbearing (nobody's reading all this are they :( )
I disagree that Bloo is a terrible person. The show potrays him as an irredeemable jerk like Johnny Test, but if you investigate more deeply into the show, you'd realize that Bloo is highly misunderstood, and the writers and characters did him dirty. Bloo does have moments where he shows signs of being good and willing to change, but the show outright either overlooks that or punishes him for being vulnerable. They would even give characters that are worse than Bloo an even bigger spotlight than he does. I think that Blooregard is, in my opinion, the most misunderstood characters in Cartoon Network.
@@caster863 Yeah that comment was made when I hadn't watched the show in a while. Bloo actually has some nice moments, I remember he had a soft spot for cute animals, like in the episode where a bunch of puppies are in the house or the episode where he is out on the street and the only friend he had was a kitty. I find him to be easily the best and most memorable character from the show. The only 3 characters I really liked were Bloo, Frankie and Wilt. The others were just ok like Mac or Eduardo or actually annoying to me like Cheese.

Then it wouldn’t have a good reception in the first place. Where does the misconception where Fosters is a super divisive come from? It’s more like people don’t talk much about it which isn’t surprising.
I agree with all of this as someone that likes the show. There are likeable parts of the show but theres a ton of wasted potential and poorly executed themes.
I found this cartoon to be the overrated Cartoon Network show from the early 2000's and am surprised people have been sharing a similar sentiment This was one of the shows I still watched as a kid though but looking back I realized this show had more episodes I disliked than any other successful show from that time Also Cheese is the absolute worst dumb side character of all time I will say it was probably the best looking show animated in flash during the 2000's
@@randomguy56789 My knowledge on Disney Channel cartoons are pretty limited compared to Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. I still think Foster's Home is more eye catching than American Dragon though.
@@cartoonfanatic I easily forget it began in 2004. For some reason I remember this show starting when my younger sibling was an infant (they were born in 2002). Also imo it barely counts as a late 2000's show because they took their time releasing 26 episodes from 2007-2009
On the topic of Flash animation at the time. Most of the ones that people deride from that decade came out at the end of the decade (George of The Jungle, Johnny Test, Kid vs Kat etc.) and almost all of them that were being aired on US tv were from Canada and if you were to look at a lot of the US shows airing at the time were traditionally animated. And there were flash shows around Fosters time that did use Flash animation very well; Mucha Lucha, The Buzz on Maggie, El Tigre and Making Fiends

I feel like this show only gets brought up when we complain about the bad bendy episode so it’s good to have a more in-depth review even if you don’t like the show.
@@kelsey1467 Yeah, I remember watching a few of the recent episodes, and everything sort of tanked. Not just the animation, but the writing and even some of the voices started giving out.
I didn't like the Powerpuff Girls that much, I disliked the style, but loved Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and loved the style, that is different despite been flat like the powerpuff girls style. I loved all the characters personality, including Bloo being an adorable, egotistical, jerk-like adorable blue blob, I don't think any of the characters from the other shows have such developed personalities, nor do I think is remembered as the worst now. :/. Imaginary friends turned out to be different from what the children had hoped for. Eduardo was not brave, he was very cowardly, and I doubt that Mac wanted to imagine a friend who would get him into trouble for being capricious and selfish, but that made imaginary friends feel real, that they were their own person after all, outside the control of the children who created them. And I always appreciate when we have written down characters who are not perfectly likable or good. I love Wildo to, his kindness was also a flaw, that also feels real in contrast to the world.
I didn't like Fosters while it was airing, but they showed a multi day marathon of all their episodes right before the series finale, and I watched that sporadically because I was a Cartoon Network kid. I actually liked the show after that and I still like it

The years of 2000-2010 were basically by far the best eras for many cartoon shows of Cartoon Network rising regarding their peakness and popularity as we grew up with them during our nostalgic childhood memories that marked our nostalgia back in the good old days.
Bendy and Terrence are by far one of the worst characters from the cast of Fosters Home and Imaginary Friends as being so obnoxious irritating and annoying as hell and they would make Chesse look like a saint, at least Cheese has some funny and quirky moments through his hillarious humorous one liners.
Finally someone I can agree with! This show is beautiful, a feat of animation. But Blu is annoying and Mac is boring. Wilt and eduardo wouldve been better protagonists. Another great vid dude
I liked and appreciate most of the cast (Bloo Mac Goo Wilt Frankie Mac's mom Madam Fosters Mr. Herriman Edwardo Red & Coco) while with the only major exceptions of characters that I could not stand them or I dislike them the most were the likes of Berry Terrence Duchess and Bendy. And I am indifferent on Chesse, not good or bad, just ok to decent in between.

I always can't help but play devil's advocate with Everyone Knows it's Bendy. Now I'm not saying that it's a good episode, it's not, but what I personally find so frustrating about it is that it potentially could've been. The entire premise of the show is that it's a world where children's imaginary friends are actual tangible beings that other people, most notably the kid's parents, have to deal with. It brings about the possibility that some poorly behaved children would create an imaginary friend just so they could be naughty and have someone to pin the blame on. And that some inattentive or snobbish parents might refuse to believe that their child could ever be so badly behaved. For an imaginary friend to be created purely for that purpose must be difficult. The beginning of the episode sets this up perfectly, with Frankie and Mr Herriman being suspicious that Bendy's child to be the actual culprit and that he's being falsely blamed, and to then flip the idea on it's head and having Bendy really being the naughty one is a clever idea. Maybe if Bendy was innocent and that his kid always blamed him for his deeds, and that once Bendy got to Foster's he decided to try it out and got a kick out of doing bad things and blaming others. Honestly, that evil smile that Bendy gives when he knows that he's gotten away with something; I could totally imagine his kid giving that exact same smile to Bendy once they leave him at the home. Then again, I do like the idea that Bendy is a subversion of this idea of the scapegoat imaginary friend. Like if at the end they bring the parents from the beginning back to prove that Bendy isn't bad, but then everyone realises that he's been guilty all along, and that the kid says "Told ya so!" However, this does bring up a problem; if imaginary friends are created by kids for a specific reason, then why on earth would a kid create Bendy just to cause trouble? Plus, I have to admit, I almost get what they were doing with the ending, by having Bloo doing all sorts of bad things just to prove that Bendy did something insignificant like stealing a cookie; I can sort of see the funny side there, I just don't think that it was executed very well.
Dude I just watched a lot of ur videos, and I wanna say that ur content is great! But u should work on ur thumbnails and video optimization more. U literally have no tags and ur description is bad. U could gain a lot more views and subs, if u would want to!
Do you know that Bendy's voice it is voiced by the infamous voice actor Jeff Bennett who was also a voice actor role for some other cartoon characters in different shows like: Johnny Bravo (Johnny Bravo) Dexter's Dad (Dexter's Laboratory) Clay Bailey (Xiaolin Showdown) Raj the elephant (Camp Lazlo)
I felt similar, I remember watching the premier on a flight as a kid and not caring for it. It's one of those shows you don't hate and acknowledge is good but do I personally didn't like. I was also not privy to 'girly' looking shows like PPG (which wasn't lol) or Sailor moon, though I liked Kim Possible and Totally spies.
I feel the Same way about the Hotel Transylvania movie series. Great ideas but squandered potential including missed opportunities and flanderized or underwritten characters (Except for Dennis and Winnie who I felt deserved better).
Yeah American Dragon and Ben 10 OG are way better and plus if I might add the werewolf design in Hotel Transylvania sucked ass like seriously the werewolves should have digitigrade feet not plantigrade feed and their claws are supposed to be long sharp and talon like and they should have tails and none of the werewolves should be wearing clothes at all and they should be far more physically powerful and all of them are supposed to have four or six packs and on top of that Dennis should have had long flowy ruby red hair and the vampires are supposed to have visible long claw like fingernails that resemble talons
@@randomguy56789 While you make some good points, those aren’t really the issues I was talking about. I meant more like having Winnie actually interacting with her family to better know their relationship and if her parents actually love her. A question I am still wondering and no one seems to have an answer, or having Dennis actually use his powers.

It it by far one of the most successful and greatest cartoon show of Cartoon Network from the 2000s era since I love the episodes, the premise, the music intro, the cast of characters, the interactions among them and that was the high peak of his popularity as we grew up with this show and it gives me the feeling of nostalgic childhood road trip memories and it deserves more love and attention to watch as we grew older this show makes our hearts melted for nostalgia vibes in our nostalgic childhood memories since this show it will be remembered for years and decades.
