Welcome to my RU-vid channel. Here, I make videos reviewing various older animated series (mostly those made from 1991-2010). These are full restrospectives on them, going into their history, styles, and best/worst episodes. I also create SpongeComs, commentary tracks for SpongeBob episodes as they turn 20 years old. They’re made to celebrate the series’ history, qualities and legacy.
Keep a lookout for full reviews of your favourite animated shows, and commentaries for your favourite SpongeBob episodes!
NOTE: Although I make my videos for viewers of all ages, they’re generally designed to be viewed by people of age 13 and over. I talk about cartoons, but in a mature, analytical way. Additionally, while I’m in the process of finding ways to monetise my channel, I don’t own the rights to any of the cartoons featured here. They count as fair use under the way I review and analyse them. RU-vid is my hobby, and I prefer to keep it as such. Have a good day.
Why cels look better according to this video: - Because they look better - "Cozy vibe" - they just look better okayy?? Why digital is better according to this video: -"the environment" disliked this trash!!!
This episode is basically MLP:FIM's answer to Bubble Bass Reviews from the Patrick Star Show but the difference is Fame and Misfortune was hated by the fans because how the show portrayed them and Bubble Bass Reviews is loved because the writers portrayed the critics like LS Mark,Saberspark,Mr. Enter,Nostalgia Critic and AVGN perfectly and had so many funny jokes.

While EQG was a interesting concept I like, I deeply despise the whole "Spike is a dog instead of human" bit. It really made no sense since Spike is a SAPIENT being in Equestria and is not a freaking pet. Not only him being a dog spat on his character(which took till Sparkle's Seven to even start trying to repair that damage) but its sayin he(and other dragons) are lower beings and not like other sapient beings. Its messed up and is just a huge can of worms. That and it badly restricted Spike's(and his human-world counterpart's) involvement and interaction in EQG. Because "no pets allowed" so Sci-Twi either acts like a hypocrite and not bring him or he's stuck in the bookbag all the time. Or just.. THERE like a prop. A sidelined mascot/prop instead of a PROPER character. And he can't interact with anyone that isn't the Rainbooms and be his own character. And its worse with how while the Rainbooms kept getting powers and forms, Sci-Spike gets nothing. NOTHING
I actually just recently watched the entire show from season 1 to present. While I can see the change you're talking about, the most drastic change I noticed was around the era of PC Principal. Once they started going full season story arcs, that's when I felt it really changed. Up until that point, it all felt like a natural development. Especially when Tegridy Farms came into play. Boy did that change things. Basically became the Randy show for a hot minute there...
Butch did horror stories specifically in the Halloween episode, but while they could all be scary, I'd say his real focus was playground lore and urban legends.
I've actually seen similar concepts in actual Chinese made fantasies. One of their versions of spirits that have the ability to take on a human appearance through cultivation. This also applies to supernatural creatures like dragons.
Yal should watch the episode that cartman eats all the skins from the KFC chicken. There’s a scene where cartman moms back was getting blown out lol she was screaming and cartman thought his mom was crying lmao
Toy Story: Just because you’re not what you thought you were doesn’t mean you’re not part of a good thing. Toy Story 2: Just because a good thing won’t last forever doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still enjoy it while it lasts. Toy Story 3: Just because a good thing ends, it doesn’t mean that there aren’t good things ahead of you. Toy Story 4: Screw all y’all, I’m leaving and joining the circus with my girlfriend. (this isn't mine I took this from another video, but it does show my feeling perfectly.)
this series was great in my opinion, sad it never got more merchandise outside of some coloring books and some storybooks (The Big Dig and Cruella Returns) and the McDonalds Happy Meal toys (the flipcars which I had 3 of them, namely the ones with Cadpig, Two-Tone, and Rolly). Then again, they still had a lot of merchandise left over from the live action movie available at the time too and Disney figured not to flood the market with two 101 Dalmatians franchises at the same time (would kill to get a 101 Dalmatians the series Two-Tone plush, or Lucky for that matter) Now there was something else to point out, and that would be Lucky having a love interest and as the video pointed out on Dumpling (and let's be honest, it would never work between them besides the obvious fact Rolly had a crush on Dumpling), Lucky was doing his darndest to get out of his "debt" after he accidentally saved Dumpling's life in "The Life you Save" she even stole Two-Tone's fantasy from "Love em and Flea em" too (I'll go into more detail on that episode later), safe to say that couple would never happen, that and Lucky did get his debt erased, freeing him from Dumpling. the next would be Rebecca, the 16th century dalmatian pup seen in DeVilville in the episode "Devillage Elder", as the episode explained the Curse of DeVilville, Hester Hen had casted the curse on the village to make the citizens eternally happy being in the village, save for Judge Dimsdale de Vil who was miserable. and in the episode we do see Roger, Anita, Lucky, Rolly, and Cadpig become influenced by the curse and making them love being in the village (Lucky found himself in the curse's effect befriending Rebecca), Spot who was immune to the curse broke it on Lucky, then did the same for Cadpig, Rolly, Roger, Anita, and Rebecca too, this also had the effect of changing the color of Rebecca's eyes from a shade of pink to blue, her natual eye color. Though when the dalmatians escaped the village, Lucky invited Rebecca to come with them but she refused stating she needs to stay and keep her DeVil in check (Judge Dimsdale) while telling Lucky to go back to his world and keep his DeVil in check (Cruella), also the side effect of the curse would also make Lucky (as well as Roger, Anita, Rolly, Cadpig, and even Cruella) forget about the village and everything that happened in there. Also, the village would always appear once every century so it's obvious this couple couldn't happen either due to the DeVilville curse. the last one, and of course one I'll talk about is Two-Tone. I know people shame this couple due to the whole incest thing but you have to remember they are dogs, not humans. Anyhow the series bible even indicates Two-Tone having a crush on Lucky (she also has one on the farm's bully Mooch though he tends to ignore her, even though she's his advisor in the gang) the series bible also points out that Two-Tone even hangs out with Lucky and they tend to dig for bones together, the series episode "Love em and Flea em" does go a step further with Two-Tone in the limelight as she finds difficulty in finding an outfit to impress Mooch only for Mooch to reject her and ironically Lucky invites her to the Four Legged Fall Ball, also as mentioned above Two-Tone has a fantasy vision of Lucky as her knight in shining armor (which Dumpling later stole in "The life you save") when she accepts Lucky's invite to the Four Legged Fall Ball. In the end, despite Mooch's attempts to sabotage Lucky (including using Dipstick's fleas and dumping pink food coloring into Lucky's fleabath) backfire as Two-Tone chooses Lucky, complete with the heart shaped iris out and the two nosing as well.
I have to agree that the first four seasons, although they had their own charm... They were nothing compared to what was about to come in quality terms.
Actually, the reason Dib and Gaz are more tan in the movie is because they’re canonically Latino! Jhonen Vasquez said so years ago. Plenty of Latino people have white skin, but my guess is they made it slightly tanner so that it’s a bit easier to tell without making them very brown.
Excellent video - great points. I’m a 1993 kid, so this show is very much something that I have nostalgic memories of. You spoke about it in a way that was interesting and relaxing. Surprised that you don’t have a higher follower count.
