As the trial of a high-profile case involving a for-profit foster care agency and a known sex offender unfolds, Michael Trainer, a successful corporate lawyer, is forced to confront his own blind spots. Reluctantly taking on the case of young Jamal, whose life has been shattered by the agency's negligence, Michael initially sees his client as just another opportunist. But as the grim reality of the agency's corruption and the abuse Jamal endured comes to light, Michael's perspective shifts. He transforms from a detached attorney to a passionate advocate, determined to expose the truth and bring justice to Jamal and countless others affected by the system's failure.
