John was Fouad’s secondary dad. He lost his father early in life so John stepped in.

The love is real! Butnif you ever watched John's videos and blogs, you could see he was a genuinely nice person who treated everyone with respect. Unfortunately, people like that are rare these days

I've always been impressed with Fouad's ability to be a great interviewer/podcast host. I am even more impressed with his ability to be on the other side of the table. Great job Dave and Fouad!

Luke was the guy who really opened my eyes to the fact bodybuilders have issues, or even that they're real whole people. Especially on BB+B, where I discovered Fouad, because of the longer form medium and the candid conversation kind of thing. Now I've always got bodybuilding and surrounding subjects on RU-vid at least in the background, because these are my people. Genuinely, I was that introverted I had no gym buddies even. I loved bodybuilding as a hobby and wanted to work with bodybuilders as a coach. Until I started following Luke I didn't like bodybuilders as people, I'd never thought about the fact they're not JUST meatheads void of personality because they have to live bodybuilding 24/7/365. It sounds ridiculous now, but I had that image in my mind, and in retrospect I lost some early clients because I expressly said "I'm not like you, I'm a scientist with hands on experience, I'm not a meathead, I'm not a bro.". 🤷
@JoNoP100
@JoNoP100 Год назад
So thats basically just judging people for their hobby/lifestyle. Its a mistake people do with anything can b oh look at this person reading everyday in the library must b a lonely nerd. Or oh this girl is wearing expensive clothes must b a stuck up rich girl. So on so forth. Its all really judging a book by its cover. You dont know them until you really get to know them.
@AndusDominae
@AndusDominae Год назад
@@JoNoP100 absolutely! It's doubly ridiculous, given I was on the school lifting team and turned a bunch of my bullies into friends. You'd think that'd give me a bit of an inkling prejudging people wasn't a smart thing. 🤷
@mattspencer6154
@mattspencer6154 Год назад
Calling that a mistake is being light. You should make it a point to call out anyone judging a person before knowing. I absolutely hate that and it pretty much means you never believed in redemption. Bring your new mentality to real life.

I totally felt the same way when it came to anxiety around people and finding my peace in the gym. I also felt more normal and comfortable at the gym and no where else. It was my liberation and more so finding peace and bodybuilding is something I’m good at. Fouad is so down to earth and an amazing human being. Love this podcast.

I honestly learned so much from watching this whole interview. Not just about bodybuilding and business but also about my own life. Listening to fouad about anxiety and depression helps me reconnect with myself and the goals I’ve put in place. I just turned 34 yr old and I’m an aspiring bodybuilder. I’m just doing this for fun and have been told I’ll never be good enough regardless but after listening to this I say fuck that I’m not to old I’m going to get things done and do what I can. This is probably the best interview I’ve seen all year so inspiring.

Rest in peace John. I love watching his videos. He's even replying to a few comments and questions I've had. That dude was straight up the Mr Rogers of bodybuilding. And a lot of his videos not only did he teach bodybuilding, fitness, powerlifting nutrition. But the way he just presented himself and carried himself. There was also leading by example of how a man should be how common courtesy and respect plays into things. And he didn't even have to say it specifically you could just see it and be like okay I'm lacking in this area I have my ego is too big or whatever the case might be. Like he was everybody's stepfather or Foster father or whatever you want to say categorize that. When he died the world lost a good man, husband, father, friend, mentor, coach and most importantly a man that led by example

Fuad played a huge role into myself getting my life back on track and getting back in the gym doing something I loved after 8 years. I started subscribing to him when he only had one video two videos a few years ago. He had his training videos before that but before this ride took off that's when I started tuning in and I commented and thanked him. I don't know him personally but when I was younger in the Army second Ranger battalion. Sure peds were prevalent. But we didn't know about the side effects the kidney issues because of the blood pressure etc. That's pretty reckless with it. I wouldn't say dosage wise but just the way I did s***. And I remember specifically looking up his channel because I remember him in MuscleTech ads on the MD magazines. and I was like I can relate to this guy cuz he always look pissed off like a chip on the shoulder he's always has a scowl. And I could relate because all my friends and fellow rangers and soldiers said I always look unapproachable I was always mad and I train with intensity but passion I guess. So anyway that is why I saw it his channel out and it just lined up perfectly because he was honest about everything and he and Luke and then followed it on with many other bodybuilders as you know. It was just a channel where you could go and there's no b******* there is no I'm not taking that much gear I'm just a genetic freak or I don't have any health issues basically it is the hard truth. About bodybuilding. And I needed that because after 8 years of stopping cold turkey at 235 lb it took a few years to get down to 200 without anything but then I had a brutal divorce before that I had tried to commit suicide because of survivors guilt. I was a shell of my former self and then I've had back fusions shrapnel in my back ACL MCL shins to hernias my left rotator cuff traumatic brain injury from getting blown up 14 times I've lost 17 men under my command. so life hit me like a ton of bricks I dropped all the way down to 165 and I was like okay I have to do something like this I just didn't give a s***. I was on antidepressants and everything else 165 lb and I got advice whether it be nutrition working out or I wouldn't even say steroid advice but enough to structure a cycle rather than throwing the kitchen sink at it. And I planned my 14 week cycle 500 test for 14 weeks at the last 4 weeks I added trend at 200 mg a week 100 mg the first 2 weeks and then 200 the last two weeks and anadril 50 the last 5 weeks on the push pull leg day workouts that's it and I was blown away. Because I found out how important nutrition was as well why you grow because of the food. I went from 168 skinny fat and just the 10 weeks on the test I was up around 190 3 I believe visible ABS kind of I guess I was around 15 17% body fat. and then when it's all said and done at the end of the four weeks eating three meals a day and one shake push pull legs. I ended off at 212 213 pounds with abs and veins everywhere. He opened up about his anxiety his depression things like this and I could relate so that's why I like the channel so much. I could it felt like I was hanging out with the guys. And the humor that him and Luke brought. It was like my way out it was my disconnect from my b******* life with back fusions and well I've already explained. then again I guess I'm thanking him again if anybody makes it that far if he makes it this far in the message or whatever. And I've said this before in a few comments here and there and his podcast.and I'll say it again whether he knows it or not. He contributed a huge amount of me being able to turn my life around again

I think another reason why guys are dying or unhealthy so fast. Not only because they're going longer and they're bigger. it used to be that trend used to be used pre-contest or even back in the day when it was in the ampules 75 mg per ample. For whatever reason that didn't produce the side effects it does today. But yeah I used to be pre-contest you know 6 weeks out or whatever. Now it's f****** common all year round in a bulk and then they come off for 6 weeks then they start a contest and they're on train again. And it's not like it was the 200 300 mg like it was amazing 600 800 mg. I think that's a big culprit
