@@LUC66631 lmao you clearly don't know what respect means, It's respectful to give people a proper burial. Especially if they were a soldier. Do you also cry "It's disrespectful to distrub soldiers and their final resting place" when militaries across the globe go in to retrieve the bodies for burial? How about when bodies were retrieved from the sunken ships in Pearl Harbor. Was that also disrepectful? You may want to sit the fk down jr and use what few brain cells you have to better understand what is happening here.

I saw one documentary on the outskirts of Stalingrad they recovered remains fallen Russian soldier with ID and documents ! The family never knew the full details on what happened to him , she still remembered the day he left to go off to war , after all this time her built up emotion's >she became like that little girl again crying and speedily getting her story out .. her sister unfortunately had died only a year or two before ! It is hard to believe that the impact created such a deep crater that later filled in. What an effort to recover the pilot.
@ALAXEILIN
@ALAXEILIN 8 месяцев назад
It was not a crater. The plane just pierced the soft boggy ground, pilots body flew after the heavy engine, thus everything was bent, squeezed, but not torn into pieces. Oil, fuel, clay and swamp preserved it all pretty well.
@J.Walker88

I suspect that over the years being in such a wet muddy area the weight has continued pulling in down
@G58
@G58 8 месяцев назад
80 years worth of rain, foliage, branches and bark shedding, as well as whole trees falling and decaying in a forest located in an already wet boggy area will raise the ground level considerably, whilst gravity will tend to act upon heavy objects. None of this is surprising. Just look at the measures they’re using to shore up the sides of that hole to prevent collapse.

2010 I was working on the island of Guadalcanal. Went hunting for pigs with the natives (spear and dogs). We found a crashed P-38 Lightning in the jungle with pilot still onboard. Notified the US military and they came out to the island about a month later to retrieve the body. I also found a US tank, machine guns, pistols, bayonets, helmets and a US brass-knuckles trench knife with 5 notches on it. Still a lot of artifacts there. All you need is a metal detector and info on where the battles took place.

A little story about my great grandpa who served as a Wehrmacht Soldier and his encounter with a red Army Soldier. Both encountered during an urban combat in a house, alone. Both aimed at each other looked at each other then they stopped aiming and just went away without killing. I hope the mercy of my great grandpa was not in vain and the red army soldier could Return home to his family because his mercy towards my great grandpa was not in vain, he survived the war and returned to his family. Edit: Some people seem to think the story is fake. Lying seems to be a common thing among their families. But not in mine. The story is real.

I think it might be the clay that creates a sort of packing material to block out some of the decay and oxygen. I would hazard a guess that if the plane and pilot had crashed in a field of sand/black earth, most of the metal items would have eroded resulting in rusted artifacts. Interesting how nature can preserve or destroy items from the past. Glad to see the pilot’s family was able to receive his personal effects and receive a proper burial. My hats off to the recovery team. Excellent work.

It's amazing how well preserved the money and the documents were found. And the pistol as well.

@@Irishgamer01 I feel sorry for those who forget history and lack compassion for other people. Russia fought Germany in WW2 and thus against Hitler, so you must be a Nazi sympathizer? 🤔

@@Irishgamer01 what is the problem to respect the death of a ww2 ussr soldier and allied at this time? If we found a body of an usa soldier in europe even after all the shit they doing in vietnam, irak... we are also an usa political lover?

what an incredible job you are all doing for the family and respect of the pilot. The video really got serious when you lifted the body and spread out his pilot suit after over 80 years. Thank you all for your services from the Great Northwest of the USA.

I respect what you do and recovering not only material but fallen soldiers as well. Looking back on the war from today it all seems so unnecessary and pointless. I hope we never come to this again. Thank you all for caring.
