FOUND AXE HEAD restoration 140 Years Old for Donnie 

Not a native Mainer but I've been living here for 6 years now and am completely infatuated with the rich history of Maine. I'm also an avid fisherman, but the stories that come with each body of water or place you visit here are phenomenal and you do such a great job at telling those stories, on and off the water. This channel is truly unique for multiple reasons, and you do such a good job with each one of your videos, they have such a great Maine vibe to them, and the educational aspect is so much more than boring lectures on history, you make your viewers a part of it. Thanks for everything you do Joe, you are truly an inspiration. Merry Christmas and I hope 2023 is even better to you than 2022! Nowhere to go but up from here ;)

That is so cool. I purchased my first good axe a couple years ago. Went with a Hults Bruk Akka. Wanted something that i could carry in my pack basket or a back pack for camping that could be used to split small fire wood. Love the thing.

Love this video it's so great that you and Donny do that trip and found those axe heads and you have the talent to do what you do and put them back into working order again. Would love to see more like this.

I am a novice at making axe handles. I like the way you shape it. Once I get the pattern cut out I then use a round over on my router that works well 😊

Very cool, I had no clue there were that many Maine wedge type variants out there. I would have just called all these Main wedge pattern. The old ones sure are cool. I have a 1864 dated J Yerkes lugged belt axe that I really love, thankfully it was in decent condition since it didn't spend it's life in the ground. It's a joy to use too.

You should have a giveaway with one of the old axes you have restored. Maybe one you have many duplicates of.

Come Joe, tiger stripe that handle for Donnie. Only takes a few minutes to do but makes for a glorious handle. Next time you burn with torch randomly wrap some wire or rope around it

That is a fantastic shop set up you have made yourself!!! I was wondering which belt sander you are using? i have gotten into Knife making Not A Blacksmith!!! Just learning to make knives!!
