However, whenever a witnessed meteor gets sighted, Mark is in a small group of meteorite hunters that travel the globe looking for freshly fallen rocks from space. Mark is very well known in the meteorite community as well. Mark runs a website called ExpertDetecting.com where he teaches courses related to many facets of treasure hunting, detecting, prospecting and even hunting meteorites.
Mark has been a treasure hunter for 35+ years and is a published author and expert in using metal detectors. Spent all of his adult life as a Firefighter-Paramedic in California. The white miners, used to go and raid the mining camps of the Chinese ("Chinese Camp" is an actual historical location, of the California gold rush rea) They'd attack the industrious asians, for thier gold, because it was easier to take thiers, than work for thier own! The lawmen weren't going to help them [ Insert offensive racial derogative term, here ], anyways. The poor guy who stashed it, probably died in a raid, unable to ever retrieve it, after all his hard work. This was the gold rush, folks. That is the history....warts and all.

I Put a Drop of Mercury next to a Gold Nugget, Next Day it Looked Like a Silver Nugget, Took to a Buddies Welding Shop, Hit it With a Torch, Instant Gold Nugget, Do not Breath the Vapors. Best was is a Retort, You Get Your Mercury Back, and Have Your Gold. Most Likely a Miner, may or may not have been Highgraded. Why it Wasn't Recovered. I learned about this in college and the conditions were beyond brutal. The workers were expendable and literally dropped like flies. That poor soul stash that hoping to walk away from this nightmare with a little something. He never returned to retrieve it. Sad. They would amalgamate the gold with the Mercury using bare hands as well as burning it openly. Brutal

He had to hide it so the people coming to steal it wouldn’t take all the gold he worked for.

Mercury is liquid so...?
@BrassMedic
@BrassMedic 4 месяца назад
Mercury is a fascinating element/substance. It's only liquid at room temperature or when in an amalgam (such as is the case in this video). Mercury has an affinity for gold and will bind to it on the molecular level. Another interesting property about mercury is it is mined from rocks in the form of Cinnabar which after heating turns it into mercury which can be reconstituted and turned tight back into cinnabar, you can do this repeatedly. It's one of the only metals that can do this. The miners in the 1850's California Gold Rush would use mercury to gather up fine gold, usually on copper trays. Then heat the mercury up to boiling temp to get rid of the mercury as it turned to a gas form which would leave the gold in its solidified form. Thanks for the view and comment!

A lot of thieves and knaves back then. Had to hid it.

Absolutely, nobody could be trusted and most areas had no law enforcement. You banked your finds into hiding places in rocks, caves or underground to prevent theft. Thank you for your view!

Well propaganda has made the blacks feel entitled so.... Their ancestors are probably so ashamed they sacrificed their freedom for the next generations to have a great life and not be living in the slums of Africa Just to waste their gift of freedom complaining about slavery that they know nothing about and use it as an excuse why they fail school and aren't great at anything because their ambition and dreams got over shadowed by wanting to be a gangster or have 100 kids and be mad the white man Their whole life's instead of being thankful they're here and making a life for themselves I mean not all of them they're plenty successful black people that are smart but it's probably .005% the rest are all the same Same clothes Same views Same music taste Same ghetto goals Same interest in girls Etc etc rap music has made every inner city black one of the same 😂 Long rant Be original and take advantage of your ancestor sacrifice for your ungrateful asses to be here and become successful and put in the effort and time Instead of complaining and quiting everything soon as you start it. You can keep complaining but if it wasn't for your ancestors you'd be stuck in the bungalows of Africa maybe they'd like it better because they're not happy here

If you were to destroy this California Gold Rush relic artifact by putting the gold amalgam into a retort to recover just the gold, it may be not worth much as it would have been destroyed in the process. However here in California we have gold rush relic shows where items like this are considered priceless as is. To have something like this in your museum or display case gives this a whole different consideration of value. And if the finder of this decided to sell it at one of our big shows, you would be surprised at how much it's worth! Thank you for the view and comment!
