@@PatSmage More than welcome and we'll desserved. The Moto inspiration is clear in both your styles. I love any riding that plays off tree's. I was hooked from the opening scenes 😂
@@qualm43 don't agree. Two different styles. Pat is crazy calculated and Chris is pure YOLO lol It's clear that Pat has more than one riding influence.
As commenters have already said countless times, it really is a blast to watch you ride! You make some insanely difficult techniques look so smooth and natural! This edit is world class, and will undoubtedly be viral in a very short time! Much respect and admiration.
Thanks! Personally, I like the look, but I guess it’s not for everyone. Its a bit different from most and some consider it more old school looking. But it’s more about how it rides anyway and it rides quite nicely.
Thanks! Hopefully more inspiring for most though! I had a lot of time to move things around and build a bit. Being stuck at home isn’t so bad when this is right across the street.
Sooooooooooooooooo good!!! Great to see a real, complete edit with so much great skill and creativity on display. Smiles for miles in this one and on par with some of my fave's from Akrigg. Well done, Pat!!!
Wow, Pat. This is one of the best mtb vids I've seen in a long time. Absolutely amazing skills. I hope more people find out about you and start watching 👍
Unbelievable. You somehow make that look like it flows! A great change of pace video with the music, seemed like a session; I do love your normal narration though. Keep up the hard work. When that algorithm hits you’re going to be at a million subs in no time!
Thanks! I love trying to make trials flow, it is a huge challenge but when it works it is a cool feeling. Good to hear you like both styles, these are a lot more work but I think its good to do them once in a while.
Awesome Pat! Thx so much for sharing this vid with us. Your skills are next level 👏👏. Great videography & production also 👍. Ya, I'd say you're completely healed 😊.
This was me in my dreams last night! Wow! I love watching trials and I love the forest. This is the first time I've seen trials in a forest-like setting. I'm not sure which shots weren't perfect though...
Thanks for watching and enjoying! It's just some little things that aren't perfect in my eyes. Style/technique in a couple, camera settings in others, and even the mosquitos in front of the lens at times! But glad they aren't too noticeable for most people!
Awesome vid! Always in awe at how you use your power and balance to make the bike do whatever you want. Years of practice I'm sure! Was also thinking, I'd watch a vid of you and fellow Ibis rider Jeff Kendall-Weed playing a game or 2 of B.I.K.E, would be one for the ages...
I have definitely spent countless hours in that woods trying to figure it out! I would love to ride with Jeff some day. Hopefully we can make that happen. 👍
Haha, it may look that way but this one took some work! I have a couple videos practicing some of these lines coming later that will show that. Thanks!
From Wisconsin it’s great to see this type of caliber rider. Heck, TREK in Waterloo needs to sign you up bro. You definitely need to be a household name in the mtb industry along with Danny and all others. Hope to see someone big pick you up! Not that you haven’t been picked up. We need to get you to 1M followers. Way to go WI! Let me know what city you are from and when I visit WI I will come by to meet the great and get you to sign my mtb. 🤣. Keep them vids coming...have enjoyed all your mtb videos.
Thank you! Wisconsin is not so bad, you just have to search a bit or build what you want to ride. I am down south near Alpine Valley, you should try to come out for a race there when they pick back up. I am trying to get a bit more involved in the MTB industry, so hopefully plenty more to come. I am happy and excited to be with Ibis though!
Wow man! Not only was the riding as mind-blowing as ever, but you really killed it on the quality of the footage and edit. N1bikes/Ibis need to give you a raise now! Haha
Having some trials skill makes all riding so much more fun in my opinion. It gives you a different perspective of what is rideable and opens up a lot more playgrounds! I am lucky to have this one.
@@PatSmage i would agree though my trials skills and novice to intermediate at best but the good thing is that practicing is fun. I enjoy watching you ride because it gives me ideas on skills i can work on to open up "new playgrounds" Thanks for replying

Glad you liked it! I am running Hayes Dominions. I love the modulation and power they provide since I rely on that for a lot of moves. Being able to control exactly how much power you get in a smooth way is key. A lot of other brakes are either strong or smooth, these are both which makes the one wheel control moves a bit easier.
Thank you! Those guys are fun to watch. I am liking the Mezzer a lot, solid and stiff with plenty of adjustments to dial it in. I had it pretty quick for this but will probably slow it down and plush it up for the normal trail.
Pat Smage well I’m really looking forward to seeing more like that! You’ve got to put more of this out! Definitely think you should do at least a mini review of that fork also because there’s barely any reviews out on that fork but I hear people rave about it. Looking forward to more edits man!! Cheers!
smooth , powerfull, creativ ! that short is action packed and a true pleasure to watch !! one thing i noticed is the nice filming but i wonder : is that someone filming you ?
Thank you! It is hard to be creative these days with so many good riders. Yes, my wife filmed most of this. I set up the shots and showed her how to follow the action. It was her first time panning with a tripod but it helped a lot with stability.
@@PatSmage ah ok, it's the tripod that gives this unique kind of robotic move. that's a good wife ! congratulations to her ! you both made a great video despite not having a redbull kind of budget !! i respect that ! i'm watching trial videos since thierry girard was world champ lol ! i love them all Marc Vinco, TRA, Chris Akrigg, Ryan Leech, Danny Macakill and i added your name to my list !
dude what the .... i've been watching mtb youtube since like 5 years ... and i've never seen such a good rider... you will do 1 collab.. .and you'll make yourself famous... get out there pat!! holy molly.... and also have more communication in the video with the viewers ....... but holy.. mother... that was really impressive... some danny macaskill or better shit
Thank you! That is awesome to hear! Talking to the camera ha never been my specialty but it helps to think of it as an audience instead. So I’m working on it and hope to grow a bit in the future. I’d love to link up with another rider at some point for a combo video!
How am I just discovering you? And how are you not a household name among the likes of Danny Mac/Loose Dog/JKW?? Or maybe I am just late to the party... Mesmerising to watch you on a bike! Thanks for this. I have some practicing to do.
It is hard to get anywhere near those guys level, they are amazing riders and doing it right. Thanks for comparing me to them though! I appreciate it and am glad you like my style! I am trying to put a little more effort in to the MTB side of things and see where it takes me, so hopefully you will see more in the future.👍
Please help me ! How can u drive backward without pedal turn idk i would like to know how is that possible ??? PS: really great vidéo and u do all the thinks smooth is amazing !!!
Thanks! It can coast backwards because I put in a custom 3d printed spacer in place of some gears. I'll have some details in a future video. It is a lot of fun to have as an option!
