@RHOTS Gaming i gotchu man, personally I have a somewhat abnormal cage but it works really well for my hedgie. You can do a big bin and just cut a hole in the top and side for a wheel and water (make sure its a big wheel not a hamster sized one), you can find litter and bedding at petsmart tho personally we order it in im not sure from where. On the welfare side, if you’re getting a baby they need to run around a fair amount so abt 30-an hour of activity (they’re nocturnal so they’ll be running more at night) but whatever age let them sleep in your clothes when they’re out after they’ve run around, helps them get comfortable with you and your scent (just put a shirt recently worn on the floor, they also like burrowing around in them). If you’re getting one I hope this helped
Hes Probably noctournal,,, he went FOR a walk and found a nice clean soft blanket and said, this is nicer than The closest floor, I'll just hang here and sleep.
I have a little Hedgehog familie roamimg my backyard. I usually place a solution of peanutbutter with water near them and they eat it all within minutes. Quite satifying.
Which goes the same for "leaf piles" in your gardens. So if you've racked leaves aprox 1 - 4 days ago, please be careful removing it as hedgehogs usually crawls into them for protection when they sleep. And if you're planning on burning it, burn it the same day you racked the pile.
I love the way you set up the room that way. We litter trained or ferrets and keep hard floors so we don't have to lock up our ferrets.... They're actually pretty clean little critters 🐱
Yes, and that's why we put him back in his home to sleep. But the blanket was on that moment not at a safe place. We now have the blanket permanently in the corner of the room so he can safely sleep there.
Hedgehog: listen any other time I would except your love without question but right now I still need sleep, so if you could give me a lift and just drop me off at my place that would be great thanks
I have a girl Hedgie. Her name is Luna. She never will curl into a back when I lay her on her back. I think their little protection balls are so cute, but she won’t do it!
Hedgehog: *actives yoongi mode* ughhhh.... 5 more minutes of sleep pleaseeee 🥺😪 Owner: *activates Hobi mode* nu nu the sky is awake so I’m awake so we have to play ☺️ (Adorable video thank you 🙏 it made my day)
Hoi@@mboerka2 , Also not wild hedgehogs should be cared for in the garden, not in plastic and glass people's house!. I also have hedgehogs and not wild but they just live in our backyard. Now with cold weather every evening I feed them some cat food and beetroot unsalted peanuts, because the hedgehogs have to hibernate at the end of October or a little later, so they eat a lot before that time to survive the cold wind in sleep.
I love my hedgehog, he's chubby just like yours hehe. Barely fits in that tube. Is that his play area or do you just have an open cage and let him roam freely?
Thanks! Yes the tube got too small for him so we made it bigger. But lately he's not much in his house anymore. We put a blanket with an electric heater on top in the corner of the room. He finds his way to there every day. In the living room he's indeed free to walk around. I think it's the best for him, we had him boxed in before but he's more happy now 🙂
@@mboerka2 i don't really know why.. Dogs, big house ,my older mom lives with me. Im so afraid something will happen to them. Im sure they'd be fine tho. Thier playpens are so small. I have an idea to make a room safe for them to roam.
@@wynterhuff3417 I understand about the dog. Do you think the dog will hurt them? But other than that, they should be fine. We keep a house for him in one corner of the living room and a blanket with a heater blanket on top at the other corner. He decides where he sleeps but it doesn't bother anybody, nor does he accidentally gets hurt. Because it's in a corner where nobody goes. And they are active in the night. So he usually becomes active when we are going to bed.
@@mboerka2 Crazy was just talking to my husband about this. We are gonna give it a go. My dogs are very sweet to them they are afraid of them but it will be good for them. The worst thing that can happen is a little 💩.
Our hedgehog did that before but now he got used to us. At one point he still wants to get away though and we let him. Rubbing his cheeks does help to calm him down
Yes, we always close the doors of the living room in the evening. And he walks around by himself at night. We usually find him in his house or a blanket at the other side of the room. Or in the book shelf when it's warmer outside 😉
@@mboerka2 I used to do that with mine as well, since he loved running around and exploring. I'd usually find him behind the garbage cans in the kitchen in the morning, no matter how many boxes or blankets I gave him.
They say they taste like chicken you know..wrapped in clay and baked on an open fire. The romance of life on the road 😬 House pet or a rather unusual main meal you could try chucking one on a bbq but I doubt it tastes the same. I think it's the slow cooking process that creates such a toothsome experience. 9 out of 10 hedgehogs strongly disagree 🙂
So he is still alive ? I really want want but the short lifespan is scaring me and through my research, I seem to be stumbling on only bad experiences and heartbreaking stories. I’m happy he’s still okay.
