I have a small piece sung by Paul on one of my cd's and I also want the whole song but until now I didn't find it.I even asked the chairman of the British fanclub but he also doesn't have it.

Paul certainly wrote far more songs for other artists than the other Beatles. He was very generous actually imo as he gave away great songs like this one and Goodbye etc...

He also gave “Panina” to some random hotel bar band he befriended on his vacay in Portugal. He wrote it for them in like twenty mins and they got a huge hit out of it and helped that band get their start. It’s honestly just crazy how he does it…

I listened to the interview and generally enjoyed it. it was an interesting choice knowing who the author was. It has to be difficult to block out Paul when talking about the 60's... or by now really easy with all the practice.

Yes, competent but nothing special. When you think how inventive and 'just right' his bass playing and every other instrument he put his hand to sounded, you have to come to the conclusion that Paul's drumming was forever in Ringo's shadow..

@@cliffhughes6010 Yeah, Paul could keep a beat and do simple fills but you can't compare him to Ringo, one of the most musical drummers ever. It's taken a while, but I think he's finally getting the recognition he so rightfully deserves.

They are quite good. They should have kept going. They had a good possibility of being right with some other great singers.

What an era with all those talents and songs. What a luck for Peter (and of course his sister) & Gordon to be friends to Paul.

I agree, they really had a phenomenal sound, right up there with the best. A British Simon and Garfunkel.

Jane quit him not the other way around.

He definitely improved. In the first few albums his bass wasn't anything special. It wasn't til late '65 that he started to show some real uniqueness in his bass playing.

@@imkluu But on You Can't Do That and Don't Bother Me have an interesting bass line. Also Hold Me Tight has a bass line that in a creative way complements the main guitar... I think it's that the Beatles For Sale and Help period had a rather simple bass...

I think he and Peter remained friendly even after his sister dumped him. Which would be awkward I think but eh, lol 😂

@@thesilvershining I know, right? It's so nice that they could stay friends. Or at least friendly. Seeing this I realize how much Paul wanted it to work out between him and Jane. She really was his first full flat out love. But I wonder how much of that was the whole family situation too -- Paul loving being a part of a close-knit working intellectual family. It must have been like a dream come true! But, it seemed that out on their own, trying to cobble together a life just the two of them, he and Jane were just too far apart. He just couldn't be the kind of guy she needed him to be, unless she was right there with him. He wasn't the guy who could make it work with his wife gone for months at a time. He had too much stress in his own life, too many temptations, too many women absolutely throwing themselves at him. (I wonder if that was one of the reasons Paul seemed so conflicted about Yoko gluing herself to John, despite how destructive he could see her behavior was to his ability to write with John, and to the cohesiveness of the group? What Paul may not have quite realized was that Yoko glued herself to John not just for love, but for fame. Unlike Jane who truly had her own career, Yoko to have a real career needed to wrest John away from The Beatles to work on HER things. Such a thing would never have even occurred to Jane. She didn't need Paul. She truly had her own career.) But Paul did find Linda, and Jane found someone else and had a very nice life. I guess that made things easier for Peter and Paul, lol. I think Peter stayed quite active in the music industry, Paul's circles even.

"Nobody I Know" was just ONE of the big hits Paul penned for Peter and Gordon besides, "Woman". You must have forgotten about "A World Without Love" (#1 in the U.K., the U.S., and several other countries) and "I Don't Want To See You Again"??

Yeah. I always get the feeling that he experimented more on recordings by other artists, doing things that he would never do or would not have been aloud to do on a Beatles track. Kind of like a kid being let loose in the candy-store.

...and Paul supposedly found out about their breakup by listening to her live nationwide radio interview, when she announced it to the whole world ... but wait, she supposedly did so because he kept tomcatting around on her. Nonetheless, he turned himself into a tremendously faithful and appreciative husband a few years later, and stayed that way, too, so let's appreciate both of them for their character as well.
