I love watching these video's! I was adopted and just last year found my biological family. My Mother had sadly passed. But I have a half-brother and a half sister and a ton of cousins. My Grandmother was one of 15, so you do the math ! I also found my Father. They were never married. Plus I need to say I was 60 when I found him ! I have 3 half sisters and a half brother on that side. I was blessed enough to be held in my Poppas arms. He's now 87. We talk nearly every day !! So blessed and thankful!!

i am a canadian native , a 60's scoop " kid " , which really started in the 50's , of which is when i'm from '53....read your sign ...read the " find me " and me eyes started to tear up ... i was 30 when i was reunited with my family . so happy fer you

Words fail me... This short documentary is so impactful and cuts really deep. What I like about your filming technique is that the people themselves tell us the story and not a narrator. Their vocal intonation and expression makes me a part of the experience. It draws me right into the lives of everyone of them. Your story inspires me...recently my Dad, who was a Vietnam Veteran passed away from Agent Orange exposure. He came in 1971, home after 2 tours in Vietnam severely mentally ill and my Mom left with me in tow at just 2 years old. My Dad died 17 days after diagnosis. I had 17 days with him I'll cherish forever. One day I was chatting with some of his high school friends, when I received a private message from one of them. He informed me that I had an older Brother...by 4 years. I thought I was his only child for 42 years. I didn't get to have my Dad...but he left a piece of him here for me to know...just received my DNA test kit yesterday. The birth Mom was a high school fling who gave birth at 17 while my Dad was on his way to Vietnam. She did not want to give him up but at 17 her parents made the final call and he was adopted 2 days after he was born in a private adoption. Jaime, I'm watching your journey and crying my eyes out. I'm so happy that you have been reunited with your family. Family is all we have. And, in your case having been adopted at birth you have no link to who you are. And this is incredibly important. So i'm glad you got this resolved now while your still young enough to meet everyone. Oh, and thanks for sharing your story on youtube.

I also grew up not knowing my biological father, He passed in 1972, but I located his daughters (my sisters) in 2018 and we are now building a relationship. I love them dearly and their children (my nieces and nephews). Also, my wife had given a daughter up for adoption thru Catholic services in 1971 when she was very young. She has missed this child every day since. In 2016 this daughter contacted us and said she had been looking for her mother since she was 13 years old. We were overwhelmed with joy and love. She has been a part of our lives every day since and we just couldn't be happier or prouder. BTW, her biological father rejected her when she contacted him. I had never met him but since the day I met my wife she had simply said he was an ASS. She was right but, it was his loss. I have the most fantastic wife and now I have the daughter I always wanted. I couldn't have children myself so this has been a miracle for me. GOD is GOOD.

My heart goes out to Ed. He didn't care that his wife's baby was not his own, and wants her for his daughter anyway. That tugged at my heart.

I know marks daughter she's my best friend. It is so good that you found your family my mom was adopted so she knows how it feels she never found her real father either.

The discussion that starts at the 6:20 mark really hit home for me because yes, rejection can & does happen twice. I found my birth parents 5 years ago (I'll be 51 next April) and while my bio-mother was open & receiving, I can't say the same for "the sperm donor" as I can him now. He was extremely stand offish, almost to the point where I got the impression he was paranoid about anyone finding out that he had a child years before he met his wife. I think there may be some fear of backlash from his family members because I am a product of a bi-racial relationship he had with a Japanese nurse while stationed overseas... He abandoned her when she told him that she was pregnant. She had been under the impression that they were "in love" and that he would want to marry her & raise a daughter together... She was sadly mistaken & literally left on the street with no money, nowhere to go, & no one to turn to for help...

I am happy that she finally found the missing pieces of the puzzle and found her family whom excepted her and Ed is incredible being there even though he isn't her biological father he seems to care a lot for her I am glad they all met and conected.

Thanks for sharing, I am 52 and will be 53 next week and still don't know who's my biological father. I just assumed a person whom I look like and his children, but still I am not so sure about it. From growing up looking at other kids with both parents, I felt empty while I was living with my great grandma and grand aunt.

in 1950 my sister was born , i remembered her my whole life. i was always told there was no baby, i kept saying. no no my baby. she was given up for adoption i believe it was 1992 with the help of an aunt,i found her.we keep in touch.my brother or sister never got married,i did and had 6 kids.when i called her ,asked her name i said who i was then i told her , her aunt was her grandmother her. grandmother was her great grm and i had 6 kids . she had been adopted into the family.i went and got her and she stayed with me for 3 wks she was given to my dads cousin. i was traumatized my whole life over it and mad.my mother hated me and made sure she let me know every day,even tho i took care of her,she still said it till the day she died but i took good care of her ill the end, i have no regrets .i always keep everything inside ,talk about having a serious case of ptsd.i was told , i opened a can of worms.i said thats to bad , but you should have seen us when we met. like looking in the mirror.our brother had black hair and brown eyes.she and i blond and blue eyes so don't get upset if you into some hurdles it will get better hugs.

I spent years wondering who my biological father is and how l envy other children living, lovely and happily together with both parents. I grew up being leaving behind on an island with different relatives when my grand parents (who took me as their child) would leave on a ship to the main land called "PALAU" due to my grandma's asthma problem. Leaving me behind as easy as it is today with easy communications, it was complete no connections for years and months to see them again, very lonely and sad....watching other families happily together, having nice things. I live with simple clothings made by my grandma . Unspoken life experiences and an island life circumstances. I now knew who my father is, sadly he has passed 2 and half decades ago, but l am happy that l knew him, very closed to him 3 decades ago, he calls me son at times, l thought because of him as an uncle. He was married to my grandma's younger sister. I just found out 3 or 4 years ago confirming that this man is my father....thanx 4 this videos, God bless!

This is so amazing. My fiance is currently searching for his mom. He was born 1/7/72 in poughkeepsie ny. He was placed in foster care at birth. He was told he's biracial (black and Hispanic) he doesn't know which parent is which. He remember last name Mendence. Praying he find his mom

Most family secrets are not good. My daughter had a child that she gave up. It was an open adoption. Those wonderful people who adopted him friended me. Thank goodness.

That is so sad that her mother died. If I was adopted, I would search as soon as I was legally able to. I kept encouraging my adopted cousin to look for his parents and he finally did last year only to find out it was too late.

I so know a precious someone I am sure praying for their biological Father to step up to bat and come into their life. They are grown now and would never ask more than to know him and love each other. Stories of people being reunited give me hope.

Wow I saw this on fb years ago and always wondered if she ever found anyone related to her, she's very like her mam, pity her mam had passed but at least she knows her brother always wondered about her.

She moved to upstate New York shortly after this documentary was filmed.

My dad passed in Feb 2018. I found in his stuff that he had another child. I dont know if I have another brother or sister, but I know there is someone some place I am related to. I am continuing to look for anything to help me. 😢

So happy for you all finding each other :) I love family reunions no matter what caused people to part. We have a show here in Greece running now for 12 years or more and it's often about reunions... whether someone is seeking biological parents/siblings/children or recently story of a Father who hadn't seen his daughter since she was a few months old because his ex & the new man in her life denied him then moved away. They were able to track her down, she lived in the US & after 33 years Father & daughter reunited! She didn't even know anything about her Dad until she was 20y/o. He had searched for her even in the US & she had started searching but never had the last name. It was such a beautiful reunion & he was overjoyed to find out he had 2 grandsons too now. With all the complaints women make about deadbeat Dads, so sad to see a Dad who was denied the one thing he really wanted and that was to be with his child. I lived in the US before, I'm surprised with such a big country & I frequently hear of stories online people seeking their biological family. Surprised there isn't a show that helps in such a search. Who wouldn't want to watch a sweet reunion like this on TV? I would! Love from Greece!

’m sure Ed knew he was not the father, Same as he did when she was born. Hence the break up between Ed and her mother soon after.
