I'm warning you now! I have a lot to say in this one! It's a bit long and chatty! But I think it's all relevant...I hope you think so too! This Road Test puts Neutrogena Hydro Boost Foundation to the test to see how it holds up on my combination 40+ skin. As usual, I tested this in many ways to see how it applied and wore best. Thank you for this review! I suffer from rosecea and it's a struggle to find something that can make the texture on my skin look somewhat presentable as heavy foundations definitely enhance all of it. I'm oily skinned, too. I wear the same shades as you in Estee Lauder. I usually love a medium to full coverage look, but this is so beautiful on my skin, and I don't feel like a greaseball, either. The hyaluronic acid keeps me hydrated, so I don't get oil slick breakouts mid day, I just get dewy, which is unbelievable. I just bought some more at half off regular price at Ulta. I hope it's not being discontinued.

I am combo and really like it too! I agree about the applicator, I just don't like it! I use a brush and I have been complimented on my my skin a few times.

Renewed Hope in a Jar skin tint from Philisophy........check it out? I got super lucky I got 5.5 beige I believe online and perfect match, I have this weird 20 second period where it just won't blend, Idk if it's my serums or anything I put underneath but it's so strange but if I keep working it in my skin with my fingers, just like a moisturizer bcuz that's what it is, it gives me the prettiest most youthful skin, it's so pretty Stephanie! It's this lightweight gel texture and it's does moisturize as your rubbing it in so I think I need to try it with bare skin. And it's buildable oddly enough but I don't need to do that it's perfect coverage, the only thing I don't think you'll like is, as the name of it says, it comes in a jar, so maybe not sanitary but I don't mind. Stephanie I think you would LOVE this, good ingredients and honestly I've never seen anything look so natural or pretty on my skin. Just a suggestion, I can't find any reviews because it's so new! Please head over to Ulta and get this! I'm in love, it just applies weird at first, use your fingers!

Angela B Remember to try it on completely bare skin first, like I said when I my serums underneath it really bunched up while I was rubbing it in, but it eventually warms up or something and blends beautifully. I thought it was my primer at first so I eliminated that because I don't think you're suppose to need one but I'm oily so I do what I can to help my skin. so today is the day I'll try it on bare skin, I'm just sad I won't have my vitamin C with Ferulic Acid serum on my skin but this stuff claims to have alot of anti aging benefits in it, so Philosophy, let's see what u can do!!! lol, let me know if u like it!

Angela B Please do! Because I rubbed it on my daughters bare face and it went on just fine. one time I did just my Vitamin C serum, waited quite awhile to sink in, then I just sprayed my face with the UD quick fix or the B6 spray, I don't remember which one, waited for it to dry and it still wouldn't blend right away! I just have an issue with putting nothing anti aging on my skin before my foundation or BB cream. I am about to take my beauty mask off and all I'm going to do is a toner, then put on the skin tint and I'll let you know how it goes, lol!

Brilliant review! I am 53 and have just received this from the US on ebay (I'm in the UK) and I'm in love. Other reviewers I watched made the same mistake you did initially by trying to turn this tint into a full coverage foundation once you go with it and accept it for the product it is, you can really start to enjoy it. I think it makes my skin more youthful and radiant.

I just got this, but haven’t tried it yet. The applicator is broken, think I’m going to just snap it out of there anyway. I think this will be great for what I’m looking for. I love a more full coverage foundation, but find that after a few hours, it doesn’t look as nice as when first applied. I want something that looks more natural. I have little to cover up, and anything I do, a concealer will take care of. So I’m psyched about the light coverage, and am hoping it will still look fresh after 6-8 hours.

I loved the finish and longevity of this foundation on me, but got silicone-filled bumps all over my face and around my mouth after two days! Back to RMS Beauty's Un-Cover Up. I was hoping for a more affordable drugstore foundation, but I guess my skin just couldn't handle silicones/siloxanes. 😔

@@AndreaRodgers Hi Andrea. When someone reads "More authentic", it naturally appears as though you mean that I'm less authentic now. I'm nothing but authentic with everything I do, even now. I wasn't as confident in front of the camera early on, which is natural. Your reply sounds like I never do unsponsored videos. Are those just the only ones you're clicking on because 75-85% of my videos are unsponsored. I haven't had a sponsorship in a month until today. I'm always careful about spacing them out because they're a LOT of work. And I always share my opinions - that's what reviews and sharing favorites and fails are. I did an eyeliner video on Thursday actually. Dupes videos and foundation and concealer reviews help people and I do them regularly for that reason. I appreciate you supporting my channel but am confused by this comment because I'm not some robot that sits here and praises every product and does constant sponsorships. I'm honest and share good and bad. I hope you can see why I would read that the way I did.

Stephanie Marie, I am about the same skin tone as you and I have both the 40 and 60 shades. I was mixing them, but found that they got too dark after oxidizing. 40 alone looks a little light when first applied, but perfect within 15 minutes after it darkens on my skin. Maybe give that one a shot if you don't feel like bronzing your neck!

I have been eyeing this foundation, but being a combo gal I just wasn't sure it would work. I am so glad you did the hard work again, so we subscribers could reap the benefits. What primer would you suggest? I have the Hangover Rx, but I usually apply Cane and Austin mattifying primer to combat oil breakthrough.

+Elaine Morris Primers are so individual...since I get oily in my t-zone, I love Hourglass Veil and Guerlain Meteorites. They do a great job of making my foundation last, my skin look good and not flat and keeping my t-zone looking good a decent amount of time. Those are still my two faves right now. I've been trying out a few others and nothing comes close yet. :)

I am not crazy about that applicator either. Love the foundation, though, and my skin is really dry. Just don't like using that applicator and how many times you need to put it back to get enough to cover. I've just started using the Hourglass Mineral Veil and am impressed with the almost all day hydration these two products can give.

I'm 56 and my favorite foundation is Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet and this Hydroboost is a close second. I usually wear the hydroboost daily and save my more expensive Chanel for other times. I love this tint! My skin has never looked better and this tint NEVER looks cakey. I love your videos and would love to see you review the Chanel foundation. I'm positive you will love it as much as I do!

+Heather Graff It's Skinmedica (shocking, I know) HA5. I actually got it bc I saw on Brianna Stanko's channel. It's the 1st one that not only adds HA but also actually stimulates your body to make its own HA too. Pretty revolutionary. And I've seen and felt a difference. I think Skinceuticals has come out with a similar product since. I was going to put it in my March favorites or even do a Skinmedica video (what I like and don't) but I wanted to use it a bit longer first. :)

Heard a lot of bad things about this foundation. People with rosacea seem to get flare ups after using this. And the oxidation. I think I'm going to pass just in case. Good video though

Stephanie - I'm surprised you're in the shade 60/ Natural beige - that seems like it's on the medium to darker end of the shades spectrum. It looks great on you - but, do you feel it should have been a shade lighter??

60 is a straight on perfect match for my skin and I am usually lighter than a natural beige in other brands. I have never had such a perfect match. Love this formula!

I've noticed other gurus going to drugstores in other countries, and they have testers for cosmetics in drugstores. IDK if customers are more respectful, or employees are doing a good job tidying, or both but there is no mess around the testers. I wish we had that here to dot foundation on back of hand.

I've been using this for months and I really like it. I didn't find that it oxidized at all. (You remind me of Hot and Flashy and her foundation Fridays!) I use the 40 Nude, usually a 2.0 in Doublewear as you do.

Hi Stephanie, your review has made me interested in this foundation (fdn). Sadly, I get suspicious when a product is suddenly reviewed by tons of beauty YTers (I think viewers are becoming more aware of how makeup co's compensate YTers & the problem w/YTers not fully disclosing monetary compensation). However, I trust you. You said that the fdn didn't look good when you fought with what it's supposed to be (ie. adding mattifying products). What did you mean? How did the fdn not look good? It would have also been nice to hear how it compared to other moisturizing fdns such at the It Cosmetics CC Cream, which we know you really like. Thx for your review! :)

+Susan Mueller Hi Susan! I get suspicious too! Lol! I'm not being sent much to try out yet. Even when/if that happens, I'm not going to endorse anything I don't truly think is good...ever. And I'll ALWAYS be up front if anything is sponsored. Again, that will only be for something I truly use and believe in. I've turned down several already. I don't see a problem with sponsorships IF they're honest since they can help you guys find a good product and can help support channels so we can find and buy more products to test for you guys. It can be a win win. Integrity is hugely important to me. You guys and my daughter look to me for that and it won't ever change. Hydro Boost is lighter coverage whereas It CC is medium to full and has sunscreen. So they're not comparable at all really. Both great foundations and easy to apply though! They each have a place IMO! I felt like it didn't give me that skin-like look when I tried to mattify it. I was getting a more powdery look because I was seeing more of the finish of those products on my face. Instead of a skin-like natural look, it became evident I was wearing makeup. The coverage was still light/medium but I felt like I made my skin look flat when I did that instead of radiant and nice. Thank you Susan!! 😊

+Girly Things by *e* I haven't. They didn't have my shade. I've heard such mixed reviews on it. It seems to give light/med coverage which isn't what I need for my undereyes unfortunately!

Yes, it's definitely not full coverage. I can generally build it to medium pretty easily. But if you need more then definitely a pass.

I really enjoyed this foundation. I am doing a bunch of reviews on foundation as well and I have normal to maybe slightly dry face. This didn't dry up or crease on my face. Did it feel cold when you applied it? It did for me which was crazy. It looks and matches great on your skin:)

Was wondering if you like this with a primer under it or if you prefer it with no primer? I find if I use a primer it doesn't sit as nice on the skin, find it to better without primer. Unless it's just my primer not working well with foundation! Would love to know your thoughts!!!
