Calvin Johnson reflects on his journey from wrongful conviction to advocate and Innocence Project board member on the occasion of the organization's 25th anniversary in 2017.
I am so grateful for the Innocence Project. My fiancé’ has been incarcerated for almost 36 years for a crime he didn’t commit, and they’re currently working on his case. I wrote the letter, trusting that God would touch their hearts and see his innocence, and that’s exactly what happened. Happy 25th IP, and thank you!!!
30 years ago I was exonerated with a unanimous supreme court decision. Last year slavery was abolished in Oregon as well as a law to pay us 22 Oregon exonerates. None of us have been paid yet. Abolish qualified immunity End impunity and maybe things would be better.
