After all these years of resisting the urge, in the blink of an eye we decided to get Flexiteek installed on Let's Dance. This is a short movie of the installation process.
greetings: i first saw an installation of flexiteek on the Zatara sailing channel. It seems to be catching on and congratulations on your new install. It was nice of you to prepare a traditional snack for the crew. That goes a long way in cementing social acceptance between cultures. Hats off to the both of you
Hi Jim, yes it’s becoming a very popular install and we love it. The Turkish people have been so welcoming it’s hard not to love them and their country, cheers.
Congrats, you guys make excellent choices in anything you decide on, starting with your ocean going home. Well done and thanks for sharing the whole process of laying down the Flexiteek. It looks great 👍
I love flexiteek and would definitely have it on my boat. Looks great. Congratulations! I just sailed 350 miles from La Rochelle to Falmouth on a friends Catana 42. My first sailing passage and I loved it! Not much wind so had to motor sail quite a bit but still it was a great trip. Cats are the best! Both a Sailing and a motor boat and they sit so flat on the water. Yes they hobby horse a bit in waves but you have to take the small rough with a lot of smooth!! I am hooked on cat sailing!! Love to you both. Xx
Hi Rob, as you have discovered there is a lot to love about sailing a cat, welcome to the club ⛵️. Love the new look, really happy with the Flexiteek, cheers.
The Flexiteek looks great and its got to have an advantage on a hot day as well. Looks as though your putting your stamp on the new boat for sure, Cheers from Oz. 👍
Thanks Gordon, those areas exposed to the sun do get hot but we are super pleased with the result. Getting Özgür back to do the bathrooms next, cheers.
Hi Gary, we’ve been so busy of late prepping Let’s Dance for the season and shaking off a terrible run of health issues that we just haven’t had the time for editing. We are keen to continue, just need some time to get cracking, cheers.
Nice! I put down a similar product on my Hobie Pro Angler 12 as you see in my profile picture. Feels great on the feet and works great to help reduce noise! Cheers guys!
You picked the best color combination. Love the way it looks on Tom C.'s Saba (shout-out to my friend on SV Ghost). It is very hot underfoot when exposed to the sun for a few hours, so be careful when stepping on the sugar scoops to reel in a fish and when jumping on- and off-board. Also, keep an eye on the glue; from what I have observed on other boats even the best installations have problems with sections shifting and bubbling. Other than that, the only problem is the hair and dirt that accumulates around the edges. Did they bevel the caulk around the edges or just run a bead around each section?
Thanks Doug, yes we love the colour, look and feel. One of the reasons we haven’t gone down this path before is because of the heat, we have experienced it underfoot in the sun and it certainly gets hot but we decided the trade off was worth it for this boat. They did a bead around each section and already understand the collection of dirt but happy to keep that clean on a regular basis, cheers.
@@ffarag our installation was 2 years ago so the prices have probably increased significantly since then. At the time what we paid in Turkey was comparable to other quotes from around the Med.
That’s one of flexiteek’s advantages over similar products. It weighs 4.5kg per square metre. For our cockpit they started with about 18sqm of product, finished with net approx 15sqm installed.
