Change of Pace: Our goal is to leave the land behind, set up home on a boat, cruise the oceans of the world and capture our adventures as we go.
We, the crew of Let’s Dance are an Australian couple with no sailing experience and a brand new boat. Our plan is to pick up our catamaran from La Rochelle, France and bring her home the long way.
Thank you so much for sharing your amazing videos with us! Your generosity in taking us along on your journey is truly admirable. The time you spend videoing, editing and producing these shows a tremendous commitment. I discovered your channel just a few weeks ago and I must say, I've become completely hooked. I started binge-watching from the very beginning and your content never fails to bring me joy and entertainment. You guys are such a lovely couple with delightful personalities. It's inspiring to witness you both chasing and living your dream with so much enthusiasm. I also appreciate how you often include your compatible friends in your adventures, creating the perfect blend of sailing, boat life, travel vlogging, and storytelling. The way you present your videos, from the editing to the fantastic music selection, is just top-notch. You're telling an interesting story with each episode. I sense the joy you derive from making new connections on land and cherishing every moment as a precious memory. Thank you once again for sharing your incredible content. I can't wait to see what further adventures await you on your journey!
Hi Carl, thank you so much for your very kind words. Comments like yours keep us motivated to continue the sharing of our adventures. So glad you found our channel and like what we do, happy viewing.
Thanks Carl glad you enjoyed it. You are right about our music it is all covered by copyright. We don’t monetise our channel in any way, any add revenue goes straight to the artists we use, this is how we can continue, cheers.
It was super cool meeting you guys at SCIBS on Sunday. (We were the family with 2 young girls talking at the helm while you waited for your coffee) We are looking forward to watching all your adventures! If you are ever passing through Coffs Harbour we would love to catch up, talk triathlon and share some more cruising stories. Joel, Megan, Amelia and Penny.
Hey Joel, thanks for dropping by our channel, enjoy the ride. Great to chat with you and the family at the show and hearing about your interesting past. Will keep you and Coffs in mind if we are passing through, cheers.
Nice to meet you at the show today, I met you first thing with my young boy. All the best with the new pad on the Goldy, it’s ’gods country’ up here mate 😀👍
Hi Marita, great to meet you at the boat show today and I’ve really enjoyed your video. I did the ARC in 2011 on a Jeaneau 54 starting in the UK so Cape Verde and the Canaries are fond memories . Looking forward to following your exploits . Best of luck to you both . Bob
Hi Bob, it really was a pleasure to meet you today. Glad you enjoyed the vid and a ‘sail down memory lane’. Welcome on board our adventure. Keep living the good life. Cheers
Another beaut story. Watch keeping is not all that it’s made out to be. 3 hours rotation is a killer. Hope the next big ocean crossing goes as planned. Can’t wait for the video. Cheers, Ian
Cheers mate, even with 4 on board you would be surprised just how tied you get over a long passage. Even so, wouldn’t trade our experience for anything.
Remember weather modification which US admits (NOAA) goes on through out the world. Look up HAARP (in Alaska, Texas, Nevada etc) is main cause of climate change.
Thanks Robert glad you enjoyed it. An exclusive for you because you are at the GC we will be at the Multihull Solutions stand for the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, drop by and say GDay, cheers
Great trip stories ..... small tip ...... if you losing fish then your hooks need a sharpen ..... sharpen with a file and do it every time you put lines in! Thanks for sharing and love the music sound track
Thank you for another great video. We plan to cross the Atlantic West to East in May 2025 in our Elba 45, going back to the Caribbean in December 2026. Our goal is Australia in 2027 or 2028. Cheers.
Great vid guys, thanks for taking us along. You're always so happy 😊 😊,quick question I see you've been flying all the foresails without the main. Is that recommended ? I thought not with a catamaran due to no backstay?? Thanks in advance
Thanks for watching, the lovely comment and the question. This is a long standing controversial question and one that we wanted to get right (in our heads at least) way back in 2016 when we bought our first Parasailor. We questioned, our broker and Fountaine Pajot at the time and both told us it wouldn’t be a problem. We have sailed in this setup for over 7 years without issue, cheers.
Great video as usual! I got excited when I saw that you’re using PredictWind too. Did you use the preloaded Elba 45 polars for your PredictWind? If so, how much did you adjust them. I can’t seem to get them dialed in for our Elba, and we’re in the middle of our crossing right now. I’m trying 90% the next couple days to see if that works. I wish I could sail as fast as PredictWind thinks I can!
We did use the preloaded Elba 45 polars and like you we found that we weren’t usually meeting the expected speed. Might’ve had something to do with our boat being loaded to the waterline 🤣. And we weren’t keen to push hard. We adjusted ours to around 80%. Fair winds for the remainder of your crossing. Our Elba loved the Atlantic.
Thank you so much for the response - I was really getting frustrated with not being able to get the performance. I tried 80, and then it seemed too slow. Hopefully 90 will work. We’re pretty loaded to the waterline too!
🤣🤣🤣 if you knew the scrutiny that the pots and pans go through after every wash you would understand that this comment is even more funny than probably first thought, cheers.
Hi Guys Safe travels and good fun for you all as you cross the Atlantic. A quick question for you about your provisioning - Do you have a freezer on board (either portable or fixed) ? If yes, what size did you choose to go with ? I ask because we are in a very similar position to you guys - we own a FP Helia 44 and plan to cross the Atlantic with 4 people in November 2024 (ARC). We will get a portable freezer before then but right now we are still to-ing and fro-ing on what size we should get 🤔 Cheers
Hi Glenda, thanks for your comment. Spoiler alert we have already crossed the Atlantic and have a fair bit of footage yet to catch up on, hope this doesn’t spoil the image. We did post regularly during the crossing on Facebook which you might find in our history. We may even repost these stories during the next few weeks, cheers.
@@LetsDanceSailing many folks complain of ear infections days after ceaning boat bottoms. This is causd by microscopic orgasms and even small crabs, yes crabs which find themselves near an open warm canal..... ear canal and enter. The treatment for this is time consuming and can be very painful. The unfortunate thing is that folks usually clean hulls before they embark on a passage thus leaving no retreat for medical attention. Your eyes and nose are protected by the mask however, if you have a head of hair, they will migrate to your hair and if not thoroughly washed with lots of suds, will eventually find their way to ears, eyes, nose . Get the logic behind my warning?
@@lets_go_see_ wow, never heard of anyone actually being inflicted like this but I guess it makes sense. Particularly important when preparing for an ocean crossing as you say, no support was you push off. Thanks for the insight cheers.
Have a great crossing boys and girls, how exciting always looking forward to your next video. 100% best you tube channel Wishing you fair seas and following winds Love from Perth
Yes, we’ve really enjoyed it there. The first time was when the boat came out of the factory - so we had a lot of play time. This time it’s more focused on getting the boat provisioned and ready to go. Thanks again!
Great to meet you guys at the Keith Prowse Australian F1 Grand Prix event last night. Have got that selfie to send to you, but can’t figure out how to on RU-vid!! LOL
