I want to see the rare Sherman variant from South America where they replaced the normal turret with the M45 Quad 50 cal mount used on the M16 multiple gun motor carriage. I've seen a picture of it in use in South America. I have know idea what it's called though. I've also seen pictures of the same M45 mount as a turret replacement for a M8 Greyhound.
@@douglascampbell9809 it would be in British tech tree if they added it but the south african line in the British tech tree is most consisting of light and medium tanks
@@georgedang449 I haven't noticed that, besides the AP having a very, very small amount of HE while the Wirbelwind's standard AP doesn't (afaik) and also pens ever so slightly more (by about 1-2mm depending on range)
@Still Eulenspiegel, seine Hochwohlgeboren von Huy this is a realistic change lmao. This change has been years in the waiting and multiple sources back up the fact that the m42 used belts and not 12 round clips.
A thing I noticed, markers on map completely disappeared. U can no longer ping the map, at least u till GAIJIN fixes it. And uptiers are back, with 200% chance, at least in the first days
@gillysuit2 if u referring to the pinging prob I mentioned, no. The sound still hears, but the mark doesn't render on the map if u in a tank, apparently in plane u can see. It's a bug and must be fixed
@@duke0salt717 lol yeah, I've actually come around on this thing and decided that the change here is actually a nerf. Now you can only bring 1 ammo type into battle and, if you're actually using it as an AA vehicle, it completely runs out of ammo way too fast. I actually liked this thing more when it had the stupid low capacity ammo belts.
Everyone: "PLEASE UPTIER THE R3 I BEG YOU ITALIAN SPAA IS TOO DAMN STRONG!" Gaijin: "maybe we should make the spaghettiwind belt-fed? sounds pretty cool."
@@lillayoda4095 one can hope. but it feels like italy is just an SPAA tree at this point, and there's still no such thing as a good italian lineup. if they still do BR adjustment by win rate like they claim, this thing is going to be bulling low-mid tier games for years to come.
@@stagiestpizza otomatic isn’t crazy good… sidam isn’t any better than other radar spaa… r3 is under br’d, and the m42 got buffed 3 days ago and had 12 round magazines before this update (making it super shit)
Gaijin when they add op vehicles for the big nations: "well that's fine, our statistics show us that the k/d ratio of this vehicles is balanced". Gaijin when they add op vehicles for italy: "NERF THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF THIS VEHICLE RIGHT NOW!".
A normal conversation: "Italy did not have such a good military." War Thunder: "You want something stupid?! I'll give ye stupid!" *da da da da da da da da*
Nah they look like animations nothing like real vapor trails. Awful. I think it was just to help players see each other better because they can't fix the 'pop in' and disappearing effects for aircraft models.
What's up Odd, I was just wishing I had a new video to watch (I was rewatching all your old Italy videos, especially the AB43 and 75/46 m43, still not sorry about requesting those) and YES THE M42 IS FINALLY GOOD!!!!!!!
As I've always said, Germany and Italy gets the best low and midtier AA. I'm still waiting for literally one other nation to get a really powerful and versatile AA below radar guided.
@@destroyerarmor2846 Only if your target approaches at a crisp 100kph and doesn't bother shooting at you until he's within 300 meters (and is flying at ground level).
I love this thing. I've got more kills than my whirlyboo. When I started playing WT, this seemed much more attainable than the Wirblewind. So I started grinding Italy. The malfunctions I suffer from really draws me to AA. I'm the idiot who's loadout will have one tank, 4AA, don't even own planes. Well, I just started grinding planes. I'm almost top tier in every nation with 1.7br planes. Like 9.0. Dude, I hope you're feeling better. WT isn't the same without your content. Dang, I seem longwinded. Ha
Loving the new sounds. I know they'll change in the future though cause the guys in the sound department need to keep working to justify their existence so they can keep a job. But damn I'll enjoy this current state as much as I can
Was just reading about the changes and see this tank modification and think "could become good now" and them get in RU-vid and you are already destroying everything with it hahahahahah
IMO, I think the R3 T20 FA-HS does fine at 4.7, it will either way get uptiered to 5.3/5.7, and besides its not getting as spammed much anymore, and overall 90% of R3 players aren't that bright at all. IF somehow it goes to 5.7/6.0, I think it should get its stabilizer back. The M42 as much it's like a Whirbelwind, The mobility is worse, the crew is only 3, I think the armour is worse than the Whirbelwind, The only "op" things that it has are the rear facing smoke grenades, and of course the beltfeed 20mms. Moving it to 4.3 is a little overkill. Why should a somewhat worse variant of the Whirbelwind, be at a higher BR than the actual Whirbelwind? And putting a Sagittario repair cost on a 3.3 vehicle will get backlash.
I hear what you're saying, it would be good to see the map get smaller options in the future, like Port Novo has a couple of different versions, however I do also massively welcome the introduction of bigger maps, as there's already enough small claustrophobic maps IMO, the gameplay on such maps gets real predictable after a while. Big maps just need big games, as many players as poss and maybe more spawns per person.
i was watching this with like 2-3 min pauses cuz my PC can't update WT and watch youtube. unfortunately my parents decided that i only can use my PC for 1 hour. i have a 1 hour 30 min download for direct shit so. its gonna be a endless loop till the weekend.
It's loud cus they are loud in real life. I actually think they did a great job on the new sounds. Coming from an Afghanistan vet. Nerkh, Logar. (Being sarcastic about the sounds).
I have noticed my self included but alot of players killing engines on planed when doing dives as to not alert aa and tanks. It works pretty well xD kill it high and dive then just wep before they know what's hit them.
@@180molotov They are almost cheating when you're gliding behind an enemy. The only downside is you can't see where your rounds are going so you just have to learn where they shoot.
@OddBawz it is a little fun and interesting that sound-thing / issue in War Thunder. I've noticed that both you and Phly uses sound extremely well to find and identify enemies.. I'm impressed that you can hear the little things that differenciate the different models of tanks and planes... I've been driving, operating and working with M113, M109 and Leos and when your are buttoned down you hear absolutely nothning from the outside, apart form shots fired from big caliber weapons. When the hatch is open the deeeeep sound of the leo engine muffles all other sounds, and it is impossible to hear anything... mostly in armoured vehicles you rely on "eyeball mk.1" :-) / your optics, and intel .... Keep the videos comming I love'em and your great sence of humor and laughter :-)
Yeah, I think that people forget that this is a game though? Imagine WT but you can only look out of a periscope from the tank and you couldn't hear anything but the hum of your own engine. Hardly anyone would play it. I mean, look at Simulator Battles! lmao
@@OddBawZ totally agree :-) it is a balancing act between realism and entertainment..... don't remember the name of the game I played, but it was a kind of infantry fps where you didn't have zoom on your weapons.. and most likely had iron sights.. that game didn't stay long on my PC... LOL
Things I noticed immediately in the first three games tonight. -80% of the planes made no noise. Even when I was looking for them. -map pinging is broken, for everyone. It worked 10% of the time. Everytime I tried marking on the map where an enemy was, it wouldn’t show up, same when friendlies marked. The radio message came up, but no marker. -the sounds are F*CKING loud. Radio messages were screaming in my ears. Arty is pretty intense too. That was just the three games I was able to play tonight. Can’t wait to see what other problems arise.
In the defense of the aircraft engine sounds, some of us cut our engines for a bombing run, so that might be why sometimes you don't hear it. Sometimes.
But they aren't. And they don't even make sounds when you're dogfighting. Just the "pass-by" sounds which are not engine sounds. This is the complaint I'm making.
R3 is a cancer loving rat bastard and needs to be at least 6.3 so it can't pen anything on the ground except other SPAA. Move it to 7.3 and it is just a marder with more speed and no Milans. Everyone who first-spawns in an R3 T20 FA-HS is a scumbag. I am so glad the cap requirements for the special events have been removed, so the R3 scum cap rush strategy is mostly a thing of the past.
They'll move it bet.. and the move will come outta my Silver Eagle pocket; i spent a fortune fixing my trees/BR lineup's on that last big br fix. Which was bs.
I've noticed the few matches I had before I stopped that this bloody thing was FAR too good at nailing planes with short bursts at long extr ranges, fast or slow didn't matter and to make things worse the bloody barrows would be clearly facing one way away from me while I'm coming up behind one only to take shots to the face despite the barrows facing the other way....
Day 76: Play the AR-2 with three 500kg bombs in Ground RB with BT-5, SU-122, ZIS-30 and Chaika... or play it at a higher BR... have an excellent Tuesday everybody!
You can't expect to hear anything whilst artillery shells exploding, hello ? Even for the game wise artillery can be use to manipulate the sound, it's a good tool, don't complain.
The Spaghetti X-wing when it fires. So after discussions with the Gaijin sound guy the soundscape has gone in completely the wrong direction. You know what to do next then. Planes are to loud and artillery is to quiet....etc.
Some of the sounds are excellent though. Mainly the 50 cal as well as the Abram’s engine sounds and environment interaction sounds (e.g. tank going through water).
Honestly, it's still kinda just a Wirbel. The only thing that ever let it down was its reload speed compared to the Wirbelwind, and less in terms of general mobility. Now it mostly gets let down by the rate of fire (ironically) sneezing away your ammo before you can think. Once again, it's just an SPAA that's way too good at killing tanks, having the ammo in a belt really doesn't help it to the point of being overpowered, just means it'll likely go up to 3.7 or 4.0
Are you kidding? You clearly never played the M16 AA befor, that one is better than the Wirbelwind only because of being beltfed. This thing is so good at shooting down aircraft, it belongs to 4.0 or 4.3, at least.
@@mandernachluca3774 The M16 has magazines, mate. It just has big ones. More importantly, 50 cals are magical in War Thunder and instantly set fire to everything they touch, just like the Wirbelwind's 20mm is magic in its ability to completely obliterate a plane with a single hit. The M42 has been this effective against tanks since it was implemented, except now it doesn't have to reload after every kill, which never hindered the ability to get a kill before. The only increase in overall efficiency is anti-air, because having to fire in bursts was extremely limiting against aircraft.
Absolutely love taking that thing into customs, baiting jets into diving on me, then absolutely shredding them lmao. I also make sure to let them know just how low tier I am 😂
