Tbilisi is a small city by most measures. Yet there is a huge degree of difference between the different districts and neighborhoods.
Drawing boundaries around the different neighborhoods in Tbilisi is not an easy task. While the 10 administrative districts (raions) are fairly clear, within those 10 there are dozens of ‘micro-districts’ that sometimes overlap and intersect, plus informal historic neighborhoods that people refer to by different names. Then there are nicknames on top of that, often based on the nearest avenue or metro station. Tbilisi is very safe and you can still find real estate at affordable prices.
In this video, Lika Tsintsabadze, Business Lawer, will share four of the best neighborhoods to live in Tbilisi.

Unless someone is a Georgian speaker, it's impossible to track with the monologue. Lika has a wonderful voice, but if you don't already know the names she's using, it's impossible to really keep up. People who just enjoy looking at video of scenic shots won't mind, but those who would like to get acquainted with the city won't be helped much. Please augment with text on screen that provides the spellings of important neighborhoods, buildings, etc. There was a little bit of this, but we could benefit from a lot more. Thanks!

What do you think of the area by Station Square since that’s where both main train stations meet. It’s about 10 minute walk tomarjansiville. I recently picked up and finished an apartment between station square and Marjansiville station thinking it will rent well on the short term market.

If You want Beautiful apartments, but not as expensive, and NOT trendy, just a good place to live, Try Didi Dighomi. It has the Most New apartment buildings of anywhere in Tbilisi. I moved to an older part of Tbilisi (Varketili) after 1 1/2 years in Didi Dighomi. The only thing I didn't like about Didi , was the smell of construction in the air because of the non stop building of new apartment buildings. Varketili is a higher elevation and has lots of trees, so the air is Always fresh!

I don't recommend toursit areas. They are too noisy and crowded. Any suburb areas with metro station should be fine. Local guys care district name, but for me all areas are same. I can't find any difference by areas... Similar home, similar kebab shop, similar shopping mall, etc. All same! My important criteria is FRESCO supermarket, because it offers quick meals

@calum.macleod
@calum.macleod Год назад
Yes, I would say that most people I know here would call Tbilisi very walkable. From Gldani to Varketili, the Metro makes Tbilisi very walkable compared to European cities.
@evguenimigachoff9428
@evguenimigachoff9428 Год назад
It is pretty much walkable as any soviet cities. I Soviet Union we had 4 cars for 254 apartments. So people used to walk and use public transportation

@@zeroh3049 Robbery is very low compared to Western Europe, etc. There is a specific problem with some undocumented children harassing foreigners in a couple of highly touristic locations. They are not a danger, the problem is that tourists don't know how to act with these young kids and the police aren't able to process them But in normal life, Tbilisi is much safer than Western cities. You can walk the streets at night and you don't need to lock your door.

I find this channel has overrated Tbilisi. I came to Tbilisi because of this channel. I was recently there, currently in Kutaisi. The real value in Georgia is in the Nature, Mountains, People, and history. For me, Tbilisi is a pretty average city and prices right now are absolutely ridiculously overpriced because of the Russian mobilization. I would simply avoid going to Tbilisi until the conflict is resolved. It's a nice little city but there are definitely better options for your money. And to those saying "its still relatively cheap" - no it's not. Cape Town is even cheaper and that is a better city by almost every metric except excessive crime and power cuts. Even Istanbul is cheaper. Even besides cost, its still just an average City.
@mattball7074
@mattball7074 Год назад
Got back from there today. I agree. I really really disliked there. Ill save details & like their banking but i think its a shithole that is gonna get way way more dangerous & authoritarian like old days. Its hard to come and go from there too (expensive). Id avoid folks

@JonHunter80 Год назад
lol ya and Cape Town is of course more dangerous, just because its cheaper doesnt mean its better, is it worth save a few $$ if it ends up costing your life? of you end up becoming kidnapped for ransom because some lowlifes think your family must be rich, and they'll pay $$$$$$$$$ for you. come on, you cant be that foolish. also Istanbul is cheaper but not nearly as friendly people they're not as kind to foreigners, especially Christians,' because Istanbul is a Muslim country, so your points are stupid
