It is impossible to turn the tide of culture in the US at this point. The vast federal bureaucracy has been carefully cultivated and sourced for several generations by ideological zealots from academia. There is no simple solution, but to let things hit rock bottom and then hope for a popular uprising that will overturn the establishment. For this to happen it will take at least another ten to twenty years. Mass immigration also slows down this process, as the newcomers come from even worse political environments, so they do not see the declining state of affairs as a big issue. The social pressures will have to become unbearable even for those with higher tolerance for disorder, for the tide to start turning. But, until then, most people who like orderly, civilized societies will have to endure a worsening chaos. Therefore, it is better to act now and make the move. Life is short. And few reasonable people aren’t going to change an entire culture based on grievances, entitlement, instant gratification and organized chaos!

I think it must be mentioned here the differences between childhoods in each place. It is my belief that here in the USA, everyone is being treated like they are 10 years younger than they actually are, and this has had a profound effect on culture. 16 years olds being treated like 6 year olds and being discouraged from getting drivers licenses. 35 year olds being treated like 25 year olds and being told they "don't know what the real world of work is like" (despite having been in the workforce for ~15 years). 20 year old college students being told that every time they feel offended, it is a "trauma response" and "an act of violence" that requires running to the nearest authority figure to solve for them. No matter what you think about "woke culture," that (and other social phenomena adjacent to it) is a direct result of the above.

In a referendum on April 3, 2022, almost 4 million Hungarians affirmed the government’s policy direction voting that child protection must remain a priority and that decisions regarding their children’s upbringing must remain the sole right of parents.”

@@freedomfighter1734 as a hungarian i can only say this: on one hand everything you said is true, but on the other hand wokeism so absent in society to the point where the legislation give more of a wtich hunt wibe for those who dont follow what the hell is going on in the West (yes, most hungarians dont even have an idea what "wokeness" is, even Hollywood movies very often jsut dont make any sense at all for most ppl., simply put, the ideology just dont exist at all) than an actually necessary law which needed desperately (in a way, even for me it feels more liek a propaganda stunt aimed towards westerners specifically to atract them, but thats jsut the cynical hungarian talking from me). Personally i atribute this to 3 factor: -the hungarian language is gender neutral. There is only one gender neutral "pronounce" in the language, and no room to make up new ones. This basically meant to most of the gender ideology is literally incompatible with the hungarian language (and by extension beyond the comprehension of anyone who dotn speak a foreign language... whick bring us to...) -only 20% of the hungarian population is even capable of having a conversation on ANY foreign language - the lowest in Europe. It literally further isolated Hungarian society from this ideology -and lastly, its a post-communist country. Ppl. are generally VERY cynical and the greatest national value (due historical circumstances) is literally adaptability (the ability to endure hardship - the very antithesis of wokeism). That beeing said, i can only recommend Hungary with reservations, since like i mentioned only 1 out of 5 ppl. speak any foreign language (and half of them likely speak only german as foreign language, NOT english), and the hungarian language is also one of the hardest in not just Europe, but in the world.

The woke is getting stronger and more present in everything. The best thing I can think to do is learn to build passive income and create a skill set that can be used anywhere. The corporate world is deep into the wokeness and if you don't like it you need to learn how to be self sufficient. You need to start thinking outside the box to escape the prison. Passive income is best because it always works even when you do not. A RU-vid channel done correctly can provide you with this and at most you need an hour to two a day to make and edit a video. If you want to be free, you have to start by thinking creatively as someone who is free. Conventional methods will not give it to you. Your parents grew up in a different time that no longer exists. Only this moment and this current does and to be free you must adapt.
@johnclifford544
@johnclifford544 Год назад
Alternatively, you could learn a truly useful skill, whether it be in a technical/scientific/medical field, in marketing, trades (electrician, carpenter, welder, etc), etc, and make an actual contribution to society. While this won't be as easy as cooking up some way to get 'passive income', most human experience to date has shown that providing an actual useful service or product leads to prosperity.

I moved to Ecuador last year and it's been a very good fit for me. I'm on track for permanent residence, possibly leading to citizenship. IMHO, the U.S. (and the West in general) is in sharp decline economically, morally and geopolitically, and I believe that WOKENESS is contributing to the cultural decline. The U.S. is no longer a true democracy! My Ecuadorian friends tease me about how Biden is trying to jail his political opponent. They tell me that they've heard stories about this sinister political tactic from their grandparents. "Your country is going backwards", they say. "If you cant beat 'em JAIL 'em"!😅 For me Ecuador is a "Goldilocks" in terms of weather, culture, common sense and sanity. I'm saddened by the divisiveness in the U.S. but I'm delighted to be able to live in a place that has "like minded" citizens and respects my values. The thing that has made me more and more uncomfortable is government, workplace, school and media intrusion into people's lives. I saw this occuring years ago in the NHS where it felt like they were trying to dictate the personal/moral values of staff. We had mandatory training which was more akin to 'sensitivity training', than actual work-based training. And it irked me at the time because I felt like being preached to. And it was one of the reasons I moved away from the NHS. I didn't understand at the time what was going on (about 12 years ago), but as the years have passed I've now seen that the workplace, schools and colleges, media organizations and politics is where they are trying to re-shape people's values, sometimes on the back of sweeping assumptions about the general public, and are quick to punish people who don't toe the line. For years I said I could see myself retiring in a small 'traditionally' minded community in the UK, perhaps in some small town, well away from large city's. but I've been having serious doubts the past few years because these organizations are getting too intrusive for my liking.

People have been saying that here probably since colonial times. EVERY generation, once they reach a certain age, begins lamenting the lost 'safety, freedom, common sense', etc that prevailed when they were younger and has now vanished. The constant pining for 'the good old days', that were never really as good as most people's hindsight would have them believe, is as old as the hills, and it's tiring. Yes, there are things that were better in the past for most individuals, in large part because we were younger, healthier, and more optimistic about the possibilities that awaited us. But there are also good things happening today that weren't happening in the past. In fact, there is even greater safety (from violent crime) in most American cities since the violent crime and murder peak in 1993. Freedom is greater for many segments of the population, relative to our past when minorities and women couldn't vote, get loans, etc. Common sense is also not entirely lost, even if it seems that way much of the time.

In some ways, because Swiss society has always been quite conservative (try, for example, buying anything on a Sunday), people have sort of short-circuited the process. Note that the pronoun wars aren't really a thing - gendered pronouns of course are reality of life in other European languages, and I'm sure plenty of people are currently funding a PhD for themselves studying this delta. They do of course have gendered job-titles, which is not a 'thing' in English, but is very much a bear trap for the unwary.

You mention a lot of positives regarding Eastern Europe, and I am to thank you for actually acknowledging these things (as the West usually dumps on us). However, it is important to consider all aspects of that life. People on that side of the globe have been shaped by the hardships and history in that region. Thus, if you are physically or mentally weak, and you seek a comfortable living for the long term as you leave the West - Eastern Europe is probably not for you. Unless you are rich, of course, then many issues simply don't affect you. But hey, that's my take on it growing up in the ruins of the USSR, so take it with a grain of salt.

Let me add a different perspective of someone who visited recently for tourism in States with family. Our earlier plan was to stay for 2 months and tickets were booked accordingly. While we arrived at the Dulles, I can still recall the reaction of my kids 10 and 7 who have been fascinated by Mr. Beast videos. Dirty n unhygienic restrooms at the airport and it was all garbage here n there at the airport. The poor dressing sense of people was scary to the kids. Same was the case at the 4 or 5 star hotels we stayed. The irony is Americans have forgotten to take care of basic hygiene. Common breakfast was also a nightmare. Anyways I had to drive my kids from Washington to Niagra side and on the way it was delightful to see that people in villages n small town truly feel PROUD on themselves and they had US flags hanging out of their door while the cleanliness was well maintained. While in Buffalo n Niagara side area, you don't feel safe as people don't have the audacity not to stare constantly. Anyways then we head to NYC, as kids need to see this famous square known as Times Square. I wish I had a helicopter to just drop my kids directly there rather than going through different avenues n streets that head towards it. Unfortunately it was such a disgusting smelly n awkward passage to Townsqaure and no matter which direction you come in. To be honest, it felt like we may vomit any moment. From metro to roads, it was a nightmare. I took them to several other cities as we travelled from very far. Finally, we gave up and winded up our trip to 22 days while I paid for changing our tickets. There was one instance in US that I must mention. There was one American lady who was pure American at Target with age around 55-60 who caught my kids' attention. She wasn't just lost in mobile n elsewhere. Present in the moment and greeted and treated our kids like her grandkids. ❤️ for her, and I wish I could show more genuine American people from the past to my kids. It was also a surprise that couple of gentlemen at the famous Wall Street JP morgan side, approached us and insisted that you as family should be all in same frame in pictures. While they did that, they complemented what a nice and marvellous family you are. I don't know but me and my wife felt as if its coming from someone who really feel the need of it. Prayers and ❤ for them and also prayers for America to see it again as it was before.

I lived in the Philippines for a bit over a year. Now we're in Japan. I noticed that every other ad in the Philippines was a Trans person or someone in drag. I don't mind there being an LGBTQ culture, but its in your face 24/7. For a country that lacks basic infrastructure compared even to it's peers, Philippines lacks focus and woke culture has taken over. Kids in these somewhat English speaking countries sit on Twitter and Reddit all day, reading about how great the west is and lack zero context. Singapore is the same. Youth are pushing hard for LGBTQ rights, meanwhile their birthrate is abysmal and they're sandwiched between two Muslim majority countries. It seems that a language barrier sometimes is a useful tool. Nothing wrong with Conservative or Liberal values, but blindly following them when they don't fit is a recipe for disaster, ala the Iranian Revolution. Of course, nobody teaches this in school. Then of course, there's the disdain for the rich, even if they're self made. Andrew is right, diversify your options.
