In part one we head out on our four day journey around Eighteen Mile Island on the French River! Starting out at the French River Supply Post we head north through Dry Pine and Eighteen Mile bays, joining up with the French River North channel and travelling East.
In part two we start the rapids section of the loop (get to run a few!) and stay at the best campsite we've ever had! Part two out next week 🎥
Thank you so much for watching and I hope you enjoy! I love making these videos and I hope it helps others get stoked for adventure!!
🍍If anyone has any favourite dehydrator recipes please drop them in the comments! Meals or snacks, I'm looking for some inspiration ✨

Wow that beast mode was awesome 😅 just take your time and enjoy. Never mind that beast mode it’s not going to happen. 🙄

I did this loop in the late 80's while battling a summer flu bug. The 25 km days were brutal.

Great video Rach. When / if you get yourself a dehydrator there are a lot of good wilderness recipes other folks have posted. Eating and hydrating (water) properly on the trail or along the route during the day is essential to keep energy up and staying safe. Thanks for sharing your adventures.

Thanks for the advice! I did get a dehydrator and I've been looking up recipes and preparing for the coming tripping season. So many options, it's hard to choose what to make 😋

Love that river! did that route many times, once when the water level was VERY high with an aluminum boat with a 20HP motor! LOL,

Great video! Beautiful scenery. Our favourite meal from our last trip was burritos with dehydrated beef and refried beans.

Oh that sounds good! Burritos are such a great idea! 😋 No bread to get squished along the way either lol

Hi Rach. How are you liking the Esquif Prospecteur Sport? I never see anyone with the Sport. I own the same canoe in green 🙌🏻. Took her down the Lower Madawaska earlier this year. What a blast! Very capable boat. We are so lucky to have so many awesome places to explore by canoe.

I am really happy with the Prospecteur Sport! It's very responsive and easy to maneuver on rivers and rapids. We wanted a river boat and weren't disappointed! We are stoked to explore more rivers in the future, including the Madawaska. It's hard to chose which one to do first because, like you say, we are so fortunate to have so much wilderness to explore!

I'll be joining the WCA in January so I'll be out on the rivers more than before. Keep your eyes peeled... He hails from parts unknown 😂

Thanks a lot!! Its an Ontario Parks map. You can get one from their website I believe or if you live in/around Toronto you can grab one from Canadian Outdoor Equipment! ✌️

That map was actually produced by The Friends of French River Heritage Park. The last edition was in 1999, and it is getting to be out of date. There are also a few inaccuracies, but it is all that is available for the river East of Hwy. #69.

Hey! I get my maps from the Chrismar Mapping website. Lots of locations and great map quality I find.
