Four officials in the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure have been suspended in the wake of a R300 million cyber-theft investigation within the department.
In a statement, the department says in the latest episode, a further R24 million was stolen in May, which prompted a full forensic investigation by the Hawks, the SAPS, State security and experts in the ICT and cyber security industry.
Speaking on other matters, newly appointed Minister, Dean Macpherson provided a glimpse of what can be expected from the department over the next five years.
