Bought a TCM CE, one of the first units. Im a big fan of the theme and love it. Best bang for the buck imo, fully loaded, topper, blades, so many details. Feels like a Stern LE + topper for the price of a premium. Hats off to Spooky! I will buy again.
Pulp is very challenging, but definitely 1 of my favorites. My location has it steep, outlanes wide open, and they removed the center post. They have just about ruined the game. Greedy bastards.
I loved John Wick so much, went out and bought an LE. I really like the premium/LE vs pro. You definitely know how to get a ball lock. I am an ok player, didn't feel the shots were too tight compared to other sterns. I just love the theme. Love the insider connected and the fact you can rank up. Stern is smart with this. I retroed my Jurassic Park and added insider connect. Stern is on to something with IC.
I just ordered the John Wick Premium for my mancave. I like it most out of all others in same price bucket (and yes I give it a try and also compared it to others, the visual side and also the game play is great). Of course Elton is totally different league, but if you are not really into his music then it gets too expensive. Looney Tunes is nice, when you have kids (which I have), but it is maybe a next flipper to purchase if you have enough room (and if meanwhile kids does not get too old). TCM even my wife would not like to play (for me it would not be problem but I am buying it for all of us). This is just my opinion from someone who never played flippers.
Surprised you find JW so difficult. I don't find it any harder than JP in terms of tight shots. Of course the theme is only so - so comparatively speaking.
I played John wick pro....it seemed not only tight shots but nothing going on except on the dmd. Jaws I've played enough now to say I think it's a home pin vs location....I was able to hear it last time I played and I think the sound adds a ton. So far out of these 3 Foo is still the winner for me. Haven't played the 2 spooky pins yet Thanks as always for the video mate
What’s more fun, Looney Tunes or Scooby Doo? There’s something about Scooby Doo that just keeps appealing to me more, though I haven’t played Looney Tunes
Completely subjective hobby obviously, but I found John to be the best of the four. It's a super fast shooter. You either nail the super tight ramps perfectly or you deal with the bounce back. Few games create the same amount of intensity and speed as John Wick. Also, the code is not finished yet, which I'm hoping will fix the problems the machine does have (agreed about progress not being clear on a JW). Do you get more mechanisms with Jaws? Premium, for sure. But JW pro versus Jaws pro, they're different kinds of games.
Re: John Wick....Ramp rejects combined with a super drainy lower playfield killed Godzilla for me. Now when I watch it in tournaments that is all I can see happening, even with top players. As to Barry O's...the game penalizes you for making shots. That's a deal breaker and hopefully they will fix that in the code. You & Texas Chainsaw...that was me with The Walking Dead (at first). Today and for quite some time now the game is in my top three.
John Wick reminds me of TMNT which is also very hated. But TMNT was the dream theme for me. I love John Wick as a theme but the machine at least on location where I can play it has the tilt set so sensitive you can barely put your hands on the machine. Jaws would be my choice too. The more I play it the more I love it.
The WiFi password hurdle confuses me lol. Can’t hop on the upstairs WiFi? Add a password to the basement one? Insider connected is dope and how do you get software updates?
Thanks. Indeed - given the choice, I would (and did) buy a Jaws Premium. Had it a few months and very happy with the decision. TCM I would put in second place. (I have played all of these games here in the US)
Great vid once again Gonzo! I wouldn't buy any of them either. I played Wick only of all the four there and it wasn't bad... but I had very low expectations, either way the theme doesn't do it for me. I went with Pulp and Jaws pro this year as my two pin purchases for the year.
I wouldn't buy any of these games either. Also just bought a jaws pro and it just absolutely blows all these games out of the water. It's not even close.
I wouldn't want any of them, either. I have to say that John Wick has the best lighting of the four. Certainly, a sniper's game, but the atmosphere that the light show creates is really fantastic, for my money. The two Spooky's are interesting, but neither theme appeals to me and Barry's BBQ Challenge just seems very odd. American Pinball have created some very cool games, but this one seems like a square peg in a round hole. It's just so basic and as you say, at the price it will cost, highly unlikely to do well in terms of sales in the UK.
Spooky are notorious for bad QC. You're lucky you only had issues with one of them. Stern all the way particularly for resale. JW is a players pin, not for the novice. Thanks for the video
Lol. Have you actually owned a Spooky machine, or you just repeating what you have heard? Coming on here like you're educating people with your knowledge.
