Hey Will, no disrespect but I have an Engel Bait Cooler and the cooler keeps the bait cool and the in-cooler net is great. HOWEVER the Engel air pump sucks. I use Marine Metal Products bubbler. Engel wouldn't accept it back for return or warranty. Good luck and Tight Lines and Full Limits To Ya. 🎣

@@bigk3381I had been looking at these bait coolers for a while. When I finally pulled the trigger, dropped $100. Within the first 30 minutes, the car power adapter burned up. I wasn’t ready so had to go find batteries. I didn’t have any at home, by the time I got batteries most of my drink were dead. Got up in the morning and all shrimp were dead.

Exactly, fisherman have a responsibility for sustainable waters. Shrimping industry is horrible for the ocean and best thing we can do is to not support it.

I totally agree, just make sure there's a hook in them first.

They will all get released, on a hook at the end of my line.

You can cover more ground with artificial

Bait shrimping isn't the same as shrimping for food. The trawls for bait don't destroy the bottom nearly as much, and they get pulled far more frequently so the shrimp stay alive. Food shrimping tears up the bottom, and they drag long enough that any bycatch is likely dead, including turtles. Shrimp trawls for bait are also smaller so they get less bycatch and they can release some of the stuff they don't want, alive. Personally I prefer catching my own shrimp. If they're common enough to cast net, great, I'll use shrimp. If little fish are the common bait I'll use them. Or you can just use an artificial shrimp like the Power Prawns. But bait shrimping isn't nearly as terrible for the world like commercially catching them for food.

We love using the Power Prawn USA as an alternative to live bait.
