The music of the sixties was much more than just music, and so it is no wonder that this music and its artists are still relevant today. They accompany us throughout our lives, and when one dies, it is sometimes almost as if a good friend has passed away. You convey this mood very well in your video description. Through wonderful interpretations like yours, however, such artists live on in the end!
Thank you very much. I much appreciate it. I very much agree the music of the sixties was much more than music. Nobody could have said it any better. I sure do love the sixties music 🙂. Sadly, we have lossed some of the best and Ian Tyson was one of them. Wishing you a Happy New Year...Lloyd :)
Thank you very much. What a great singer songwriter Ian was. He didn't write it but I love his version of Home On The Range 🙂. I was to Alberta twice. Very nice out that way. Sending you love from just north of Toronto 🙂. Happy New Year...Lloyd :)
A beautiful tribute Lloyd. He was one of my favourites too. I had the privilege of seeing him and Sylvia at a small concert in the late 60's. Of course they sang their iconic song .. and it was one of the first songs that I learned. Ian at some point moved to a ranch in southern Alberta. Thank you for the history. Great cover! ♬‧*˚✧♬ ✿`·٠•●♡
Thank you Julane. Very much appreciated dear friend. I didn't get to see Ian but got to see Sylvia just north of Toronto once in the ninties. She performed with another Canadian Murray McLaughlin on Canada day. I'm a fan of Ian. Love his songs. Great songwriter. Yes, he was a cowboy and moved to Alberta and had a ranch there. I just listened to his version of Home On The Range. I love his version and it sure suited him. He will surely be missed. Wish you a healthy and Happy new year...Lloyd :)
Thank you Karen, very much appreciated. I've always been a fan of Ian. I love all his songs. I thought I heard them all but today found this one. I can't stop listening to it. I share with you... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xbN4Ewd-G84.html Let hope he found his way home. Best wishes to you. Happy New Year. Take good care...Lloyd :)

Great dedication to the canadian folk singer. Great "anthem" of Alberta as well. Beautiful singing and guitar accompaniment as always. The harp sounds great too. Thanks for sharing and happy new year. Greetings Peter

Beautiful cover, Lloyd, and a fitting tribute to Ian Tyson. By the way, that story about the Bob Dylan/Ian Tyson connection was in Greenwich Village in the early 1960's. I was playing folk music then in those circles.
Thank you very much. It was a sad day when I heard of Ian's death. Yes, it was Greenwich Village. He told the story on Jerry jeff walker show and he sang one of my fave songs "Summer Wages"... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8suOYr_GVsE.html Wow, it's most have been a nice place to be as a folk singer at that time in Greenwich Village. Did you get to see Dylan? Take good care. Happy 2023...Lloyd :)
@@BDFAN65 Summer Wages is probably my favorite Ian Tyson song. Greenwich Village was incredible in the 60's. I played folk guitar then in local coffee houses and got to see Dylan and many others.
Dear Lloyd, I was so so sad to hear of Ian's passing. He and Sylvia were so so important in the evolution of folk music in our time. And this one? One of my longtime favorites. Know it by heart and sing it so so often when I pick up a guitar or uke. Your gentle way with it was the perfect tribute to Ian. My condolences on the loss of the magnificent Canadian writer and performer, dear Lloyd. Linda
Thank you dear Linda. Yeah, I've always been a big fan of Ian. So many great songs. I never got to see him in person but I did get to see Sylvia perform on Canada Day just north of Toronto back in the ninties. It was a great show outside that day. I don't know if you know Canada's Murray McLoughlin but he performed with her. He had a big hit with The Farmer's Song. Played harmonica like Dylan 🙂. I was watching a video after I heard of Ian's death and found out he did the old country classic "Home On The Range". I could not stop watching him sing it. His version is now one of my faves. It shows him sitting outside on the range singing it. I will share with you. He starts singing it at the 2:12 mark.... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9NtybBCWNEg.html I hope alls well Linda. Take good care. See you again soon...Lloyd :)
@@BDFAN65 Wow Lloyd...thanks so much. That's a super performance by Ian and I've always loved that song. Really appreciate your sharing both the memories and link, dear Lloyd!
@Turtledrum You are very welcome. Glad you enjoyed. He did such wonderful job of this old time classic. Love how it was filmed like that outside on the range and he was a true cowboy. Oh, I was singing that "Summer Wages" song earlier today 😊. Have a nice weekend dear Linda....Lloyd :)
