I think the most fun and addictive thing about Ableton is that it doesn't matter what skills you acquire, or what tricks you know, there is always a new idea, a new concept, which many times makes you feel like you are just another apprentice, it strips us in front of to creativity, making us all equal.

I've always loved that four tet clip and this recreation is really dope. the 1/16th quantization just hits instantly

for sure man, resampling a few passes with one at 1/16 one at 1/8 and then maybe one triplet 16ths or something, then doing the take lane thing is really sick. really fun with full tracks too!

i think there's also the Granulator Max For Live unit that can do that effect and you can automate the position that way, not 100% sure tho

for sure! you can also midi map the start head of an audio clip and just keep retriggering the clip while messing with that start head. pretty sick!

Great technique. Is there a way to replicate the looping function, though? This is more or less exactly how the iPad app Samplr works, so that's an alternative.

Yes sir, you can midi map the clip "start" and freely adjust it. i was trying to see if you could use the max for live lfo but i haven't found a way to map it.
