That singer is the late great Levi Stubbs. Absolutely one of the greatest singers in all of soul music's history. He had a super long career too and was always consistently excellent. He was even better live which is always the hallmark of a superb singer.

Levi Stubbs has the best golden voice in the Four Tops. He was also the voice of the villainous Audrey 2 in the film version of Little Shop of Horrors with Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, Vincenzo Gardenia, Steve Martin, and Bill Murray.

Reminds me of cruising in my 72 chevelle and listening to the radio. After about 8:00 at night a radio station KOMA out of Oklahoma city would turn its power up and you vould hear that all over the west and they played the top ten over and over with a song in the top 100 or just one listeners liked every once in a while and this song was Number 4 1973. I would have listen to my 8 track tape player but it eat all my tapes. In otherwords this song is timeless.

A popular song in Northern Soul is one by the name of Do I Love You (Indeed I do) by Frank Wilson. It’s my parents’ ‘song’ that they both had their first tattoo of at the age of 60. My dad has been collecting soul and northern soul music for well over 40 years and has somewhere in the region of 20,000 vinyl records so there’s plenty of it around for you to check out! That's the only unfortunate thing about the hits from the sixties and early seventies. The formula was that a song couldn't be more than 3 to 3.5 minutes. They all ended way too soon.
