I just wanted to share that when you stopped uploading videos for a while I felt you might be going through a hard time postpartum so I kept praying for you. I had postpartum depression and struggled really hard so I wanted to cover you and your family in prayers. It’s so good to see that you’re happier and more confident being a mom. Thank you for sharing! ❤

I have never related to you as much as when you talked about postpartum anxiety and all the googling. Man, that was so real 😭 I really appreciate your vulnerability, sharing the real and ugly side of motherhood. It's not all sunshines and rainbows.

Resonated with everything you talked about. I remember constantly asking my husband in confusion why none of our friends and family ever told us about the real struggle or why nobody seemed to mind the change and just carried on. I definitely didn't feel "normal" and like you, struggled to enjoy those precious first few months. We lived off lots of prayer and long walks. Now, 9 months in, I feel so incredibly blessed to be a mom. Its a true dream come true. There is absolutely nothing like it. I couldn't imagine my life any other way. Thank you for sharing!! You are doing so amazing ❤

I also had my baby Nov. 2023 and I had such bad postpartum anxiety/depression. What helped me the most was scripture memorization, like Psalm 23 (The Lord is My Shepherd), prayer and our family & church community. I would write scripture on an index card and put it in front of the sink (where I spent so much time). I'm pregnant again (not planned) so apparently God thinks me & my husband can handle this again 😂 Thank you for sharing!

Remember parents fed is best 😊 I tried my hardest to breastfeed my son but I could never make more than 2oz a day! I tried pumping every two hours and power pumping 1x a day for a few weeks then more or less power pumping, etc. it was just way too stressful and my milk never produced more so I decided to stop after 2 months postpartum which actually was a blessing. I got to spend so much more time with my son and no longer stressed about when I need to pump and if I will make enough. You are strong Michelle and your baby is very loved

I loved this video. My baby was due the 10th of November 2023 but she was born early on the 7th of September 2023 and my postpartum experience was so emotional and it really only hit me when she came home after 50 days in the NICU. I was just in survival mode in those first few weeks of her life. Only now starting to heal from everything that happened postpartum after finally asking for help ❤

I am a new momma just had her on March 29th and I am going through the thick of that newborn stage. I am blessed to be able to breastfeed but breastfeeding comes with a price on your body and mental health. I literally feel like a cow 🐄 and at times I cry because I don’t feel like I am my own person. Figuring her out as she figures me out is a tough thing. I love her so much but I have to be honest.. this stage of postpartum is EXHAUSTING. Everyone says it will get better and so I just continue on hoping and surviving the newborn stage. Any new mommas.. I hear you, I see you and I pray for you and those days when you feel like giving up… DONT. There is light at the end of the tunnel. We’re never alone on this journey❤

Also I had my Boy on March 27th 2024 and I’m sooooo grateful for him being healthy and I! The birth was VERY Supernatural it was a pain free birth which I prayed for. Hallelujah!!🙌🙌✝️❤️❤️💯💯

I remember having horrible PPA before google was even a thing! It was much better with my second son because I knew to anticipate it and I could shut down the intrusive thoughts. I’m so glad to hear there’s a two week PP check now to offer resources if need be. Don’t ever allow anyone or anything make you feel guilty about the parenting decisions you decide on for your own sanity and the well being of your baby. Kids thrive on having a happy, healthy mommy above everything else. ❤

I had almost the exact same postpartum experience with my first son and I just want to give the hope that just because your postpartum experience was so hard the first time DOES NOT mean it will happen every time! I had my second son three years later, and my postpartum experience was SO POSITIVE and I had been soo scared I would be anxious and living the way I had the first time around. Also, after you live through PPA or PPD you are so aware of the signs of it, that it should be easier to identify and get yourself some help sooner. Take care of yourselves mamas!!!!! Your mental health matters more than sleep routines, how you feed your baby, or anything else society tries to tell us about caring for our babies.

I’ve been following you for years and years and just wanted to encourage you- my first postpartum experience sounds identical to yours. I never left the house, my mental health was a disaster, breastfeeding didn’t work, everything. I just had my second 6 weeks ago and it has been a complete 180 and all the things you said you will do differently next time, I said the same. This time around has been so healing and peaceful and I really didn’t think it was possible to enjoy postpartum and not have extreme anxiety. Just be encouraged that just because this experience was hard, doesn’t mean your next one will be. I wish I would’ve known how different each baby/postpartum is! 💞🫶

THIS THIS THIS. I had massive anxiety in the beginning and felt like I was doing everything wrong despite my many years of working with children of many ages including newborns. Nothing humbles you more than going through pregnancy, and postpartum yourself. I had the same experience as you with an easy pregnancy and delivery but the fourth trimester rocks you, I think more so your first time because you have no idea what to expect until you go through it all. My daughter is now 1 and it’s insane how much your brain blocks out the bad parts and the baby fever kicks in 😅 thanks for sharing your vulnerability, especially on the internet❤️

It’s so interesting whenever I hear a mom say the newborn phase was her favorite. They are so precious as babies, but the lack of sleep, physical healing from birth, and stress of being a new mom is so much to handle! It’s funny for me to hear, that you appreciated the two follow-up appointments with the midwife, when, in Germany, where I live, it is normal for the midwife to be with you nearly every day, first few days even twice a day, to check on you and baby. I haven’t had a baby yet, but I can imagine that this would have helped even more and for some people it might even prevent a “negative spiral” all together as they would be able to address every worry instantly. Thank you for sharing your experience and I am happy to see, that all is good now!!

I had a very traumatic natural birth last year. I had severe PPD and PPA....so I completely understand it all. Our daughter is having surgery this friday because she has a duplex kidney. She is almost 13 months old now. A lot of my anxiety came from knowing that. Also my thyroid was/has been messed up, so mamas make sure you get checked out. It can cause depression symptoms. But through all this, God is good!! I so want to watch this video Michelle. But unfortunately I saw the title and I am still healing mentally and this topic is still triggering for me. God bless🩷🙏

I am in the thick of postpartum right now (I had my baby 2 and half weeks ago) and I can relate to a lot of things. My baby is a pretty good sleeper and she latches properly (although we still mix feed- both my milk and formula- because I can't produce enough), but we do struggle with gas and when she cries hysterically it breaks my heart- it's one of the things that stresses me the most. Luckily, it doesn't happen all of the time. Hoping it doesn't turn into colics (please pray for us). Postpartum is tough, but support from your partner and family will definitely help make it better. Good luck to everyone going through this ❤️

Hi Michelle, I just want to say a massive thank you for this video. I have an 8 day old baby who is struggling to breast feed due to poor latch, a very similar story to you. Syringe fed colostrum, I’m breastfeeding with a nipple shield and triple feeding since day 4. It’s only been 4 days but triple feeding is killing my mental health, creating anxiety and challenges bonding with my baby. When you mentioned that Connor has a lip/tongue tie, I immediately checked my son to I find he has a lip tie too. This was not picked up at the hosptial. If it wasn’t for your video, I wouldn’t have checked him. Since watching your video a 2 hours ago I’ve made an apt with a specialist ibclc who can reverse lip ties and my negative thoughts about feeding have been replaced with some hope. So thank you for posting something so personal because this has provided me with a possible insight to what’s going on, makes me feel motivated for triple feeding and could potentially will change the trajectory of my feeding journey xxx

How much I find myself in what you told! Take care of yourself, mom! You are greeted by a mother who is also awake at 3 in the morning. 😂♥️

Thank you so much for posting this! My baby just turned 3 months and we have been dealing with horrible acid reflux since the beginning, which has made my motherhood experience completely different from what I anticipated and it has been really hard. I needed to hear that it is okay for me to not have lived the “newborn bliss” as a lot of people share it. I love her so much and I am so happy and grateful that I get to be her mom, but it has definitely been an adjustment

Ah, that's so hard to deal with 😢 my daughter had such bad colic and we did not have a blissful newborn time. A 3 months I cut out all allergens from my diet (soy, dairy, gluten, etc) and introduced one a week. Turns out she was reacting to the lactose in the milk and gluten - in tiny trace amounts in my breast milk! She had no reflux and no night screaming anymore once those were gone. ❤ Not sure if this will help you, but you are definitely in my prayers that this will pass. 🙏

I bled for 12 weeks straight 😭 but I was on blood thinners due to a high stroke risk. Postpartum has been fairly good to me compared to my pregnancy, labor & delivery.

Needed this right now, deep in the weeds at 4.5 weeks postpartum! Omg I also would wake up thinking baby was in bed with me (she was in a bassinet)!!! So weird!

I’m currently 25 weeks pregnant. The 4th trimester is my biggest stresser because i continue to hear stories of people having a hard time. Is there anyway to prepare yourself or educate yourself to prevent issues like this coming up?
