I live in ATL and traveled to AZ for work in 2017. I can count on one hand the amount of blacks that I saw out there. The Uber drive was from Africa and was shocked that i was black lol.
I was pretty naive about this whole situation until I did pest control over the summer. I was the only Hispanic in the group and the only one who had the cops called on multiple times. And I had a guy tell me in Draper “what are you doing here?”. I’m not gonna lie, that was my worst summer.
@@Roxality Yes there a lot of great people here! I was knocking about 100 doors a day so I was bound to find some bad apples. 😅 Just sad to witness this myself.
I’m a trucker and I’ve been to every state. Utah is by far the most racist IMO. I obviously look Hispanic and I get dirty looks and I can just see it in peoples body language.
really the mexicans are far more racist now that they are coming here in boat loads to utah. They seem to be the only group that comes off as extremely racist in utah..
The older people in Utah were the racist ones. I am very aware that I was talked about behind my back and racial slurs were thrown to my face as well. Always from older white Mormons but the younger generation (people my age 20s ) and never defended me. I can tell some thought it was wrong but to afraid to say anything. Cowards I will say. I was super uncomfortable in Utah, any part of it. Glad I’m out and now in Florida , super diverse…..
I live in Utah. I hope we can have these conversations and make everyone feel loved. Please, reach out to me if I can be a support or help. I’m not sure how I should be supportive or if it’s even my place as a white person.
I've always had a strong disdain for the state of Utah, because of how racist they are. No Black person belongs there. I see a room full of beautiful and intelligent Black folks. Go where you are appreciated. Also don't buy into the whole "safety" argument. There is nothing safe about being around people who despise you...it is not safe mentally, emotionally, culturally, spiritually, financially, and potentially even physically.
As a minority i was born and raised in utah im always the minority in the work group! Sometimes i think people are unknowingly racist because the lack of diversity!!
when i moved from utah to la it was quite different going up to a black guy on launch break saying hi he knew i wasn't from around there because people don't socialize or talk about things other then work outside their race I was told the same thing talking to the Mexicans at my other job the ones that were born in LA anyway i just hang out with the Mexicans who just came over the border because they didn't have that attitude
The civil rights act which we died, bleed, protest, attack with dogs, integrated schools, marched and fought for has benefited everyone else but us. What happen to the original peacemaker of protest. We were brought back to the plantation and sold out.
I used to frequent Utah as a truck driver. I've never had any racial discriminatory events happen to me. Utahens have always been kind to me. I've always had a blast in Salt Lake, and Ogden. I get treated with more disdain from other black people.
If you're talking about the Christians of lds faith that believe in book of mormon, you're wrong. However, some may think from what pearl of great price says, that the mark of cain is black skin. One guy from the church actually blatantly said the mark of cain was black skin but that he wasn't racist. Saw blacks like a friend of his like any other human 🤷🏻
My take on all of this is that if you're saying that you want to grow I would say open up more black businesses support our black businesses number one and also more black people need to start attending more hbcus and black charter schools for our children so they don't have to feel this way but feel accepted and be successful at the same time and more entrepreneurships for black people to start up people let's wake up and stop finding excuses why we can't do or that we're feeling ashamed of ourselves it's in our hands to do this we don't do it then it's nothing more than deeper in the wind it's just a dream not reality anymore I hate it when black people don't do anything we're always saying that we're stereotype let's get up and do something stop finding excuses and start doing.
@josebravo he right you talk institutional racism but in the end there are black banks, HBCUs and many organizations to help you succeed. I think many younger blacks have way more entrepreneurial spirit compared to The black baby boomers and gen x.
We are going to need to disaggregate data so we can measure how far Black Americans have come instead of lumping us in with immigrants. Then you'll be able to see our trajectory over time. As far as how people here treat Black people? hahahahahahaha do you even need to ask?
I have respect for white couples that adopt black children, but they simply don’t have the knowledge of how to raise a black child to a black man in America. You can’t raise a white child and a black child the same way it’s just how it is. But as I said respect ✊🏽
@@kellystraveli7825 if America was fair and equal to everyone this would not be fact but unfortunately America is not fair and equal. We cannot live with the same mindset as white people because that might get us locked up or shot. You have to be very aware of what your doing and how you look to everyone else because your life can very well depend on it. It’s like asking a person with two working arms to teach a person with one arm how to live their everyday life. You don’t have the experience of having on arm so you do not have the knowledge of how it is to live with one arm.
@@elohimsoldier7 i suggest you stop watching cnn and read your bible more...since you claim to be a believer. Let your beliefs be formed by the word and not Al Sharpton
It’s racist everyone you go… with the first guy I have to disagree I feel like it has changed a little we can go to restaurants and we can sit down with others along with using the bathrooms… riding the same buses … voting rights… we are better than Martin Luther King days … even in the state of Georgia that’s I reside in and it’s can be racist at time … I’m going to Utah for 6 months for work and yes, it’s not a lot of blacks there … even living Massachusetts for 4 months I felt the racist … Wisconsin as well… I was the only black girl working at my job but, I don’t let that bother me … I was getting to my coins
Since they want to talk about MLK quotes.... What about going to Washington to get our check and sold millions of acres of land and mechanized OUR FARMS!!!!! We we're here before the pilgrims came and before the star spangled banner was written. Include everything he said he was killed for letting us know who's land this is. Family Genealogy is key
That's rite muur. If they hate us so much why are these people on are land. We are the muurs/moors. This is are land all of it that why they hate us/ I would be lien there many reason.
@@LadyMusse no they just don't teach the oppression that happened and focus on it all day long by the time the Civil War ended in America there were still over a million white slaves in the old Moorish kingdoms the last one being freed in 1906 small settlements along the ocean as far as Ireland had to be abandoned due to raiding but they don't even mention that in school compared to an entire month or longer about hearing about the slavery here
U cant be proud to be white. White is an absence of color its blank a lack of something.. That would mean you are proud of having a lack of a certain thing doesnt make sense..
I am Asian. We are tiny and skinny. We are always bullied by the black people. We find them always whining about this and that. “Our hard work, integrity and intelligence can break the barrier of individual barriers.
Why would black history only be about “black achievement”? US History doesn’t only focus on America’s achievements. I believe white fragility has made white people resistant to hearing about the atrocities of this country and to what white supremacy has done to non-white people.
