Norwegian here. (This writ became long, but it's something I have been wanting to express for some time now. And there's no obligation to read it, naturally.) Ever since the World beheld, incredulous, aghast and anxious, that individual trump was accepted as a presidential candidate, many of us concerned foreigners have been trying to warn you all of what an utterly nefarious creature he is. Well knowing that many, if not most of you, saw/knew this too. But particularly for those of us who have some firsthand experience with authoritarian regimes and the unsavory characters "leading" said regimes, it became difficult to stay mum. My own such experience comes from living in a South American country (Bolivia) where we only had a couple of years respite, in between two different, but oh so similar, dictator wannabes. The current one being, unfortunately, even worse than the last one. Both are of the same party. And people here should have known better than to vote _anyone_ of that party in again, as it was the people who ousted the first one, with peaceful street protests all over the country. A feat, as a matter of fact, that ought to have become better known worldwide than it is. I admit to having had a hard time being able to forgive them for allowing another one of the same ilk to become president, and suspect that a good number of them are regretting it now! Anyway; trump is that same type of person: immature immoral greedy insecure narcissistic vengeful inept, etc. etc. Only that trump is worse. He was worse even _before_ he tasted the power of the presidency. And to hand such a creature that amount of power, is pure madness. I can't get over the unfathomable irresponsibility of the electoral college, in that they actually selected him. But here I want to use the opportunity to remind all of us, as I think it does good being reminded of it, that you, the people of USA, gave Hillary nearly 3 million more votes than what trump received. Another splendid and weighty fact (which also is a good thing to have in mind) is that you *FIRED* him the first chance you got! Something we anxious onlookers will remain immensely grateful to you all for. It has also been interesting to see, up thru these last strange years, the reaction of you US citizens to us foreigners taking an interest, mildly said, to the goings-on in USA since 2016. The absolute majority of you express positive, and even touching sentiments. And I'm often downright moved by the response I can get. I have been thanked countless of times, and lots of people have encouraged me to keep on sharing opinions/thoughts/stories that I post, and to keep on taking an interest. Similar sentiments I see expressed towards other foreigners who also are doing what they can to contribute with what they can, hereabouts. Only a very, very few of you seem bothered by our "interference." I'm not talking about trumpists/bots here. Those, after all, are another matter altogether. And I'm glad that it _seems_ like they (trumpists) are dwindling in number, though those remaining seem to be increasing in vileness and inanity. The World, the rational part, that is, really hopes and wishes for things to turn in the right direction in your country, both for YOUR sake and for OUR sake, since the survival of freedom and democracy worldwide, sort of (again mildly said) depends on it. A climate change denying fascist regime in the world's most influential country, is, after all, what our little planet least needs! On a more personal note; my boyfriend is an American, and I might, in the near future, go and live with him. So there's that, too, for me. On another personal note; an aunt of mine is one of the too many Norwegians who has let herself be trumped apart from most of the rest of the family. And that's another story. Yet another story, is how this South American country is affected by trump inspired anti vaxxers, something that is having a direct impact on me and my dearest and nearest here. I guess I'm trying to convey the fact that for billions of people all over our planet, to see that your ex-president receives the justice and accountability he deserves, has become an almost personal matter. He, and his co-conspirators & enablers, just _NEED_ to be made an example of.
