Fox by Fansells WIP & Waffle/Chat | Diamond Painting 

Hi Rebecca, I’m posting this comment not to get sympathy but to emphasise just how your wonderful videos (especially your WIP and Waffles) can have such beneficial effects. Last year I was trying to finish a custom painting before Christmas but I had a few episodes of sickness so it just didn’t happen. Then at the beginning of January I was hospitalised and diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer. I had 15 sessions of Radiation Therapy over 3 weeks and then in February I was struck down with terrible pain in my lower back. This proved to be very some very large kidney stones which will only be fixed by either open surgery or laser surgery. I have been wanting to paint but then I have been uninspired also. I guess all the appointments I’ve had hasn’t helped. I haven’t been been able to sit down for an extended amount of time so I tried some smaller off-the-canvas projects to see if they would inspire me. Although I finished them my itch still wasn’t satisfied. Then recently your videos (especially your decision wheels) sparked something in me. I still can’t sit for too long but I feel somewhat satisfied with what I have accomplished. I hope that soon I will be able to post my completed work. I want to thank you for your very special work and how therapeutic it is.

Here in the Eastend of London we would say 'A cats lick and a promise' which when i was a child ment have a quich wash at the kitchen sink during the week, with the old tin bath being filled on a Sunday evening in front of an open fire for all our baths.. it was pure luxury when we finally moved when I was 11 yrs old and had a proper bathroom for the first time 😂 One of my Dads old sayings was 'A spit and polish' yes it had something to do with his army days.. 😊 I love using my decision wheel and hearing of the different ways others use it. I pitty anyone that leaves you a rude message on here with 'Rebecca's Zesties' (Kim's name for us 😁) looking out for you 😉 love and respect always Rebecca for all you do for us 😘🥰💚

Me again, I've also been practicing my multiplacing and I'm up to a 9 placer now. It's great I'm on my tenth painting of the year. But I'm also disabled so I have more time to diamond paint than most. Thanks for the videos It's great to be a part of such a great community.

Hi Rebecca, hope all is well with you and the family! This is going to be a long comment, so I apologize in advance. Thank you for all that you do for us, making diamond painting more enjoyable and easier. I had a lot of “firsts” this past week. I ran out of drills on a square painting for the first time ever. I didn’t have them in my stash so while waiting for the replacements I started another painting. My next “first” was having a lot of drills that were stuck together in quite a few of the colors. I went and pulled my little shaker bottle with the nut we got from Advent. This is the first time I used the jar and “WOW”, I only had to shake it a few times and all the drills were separated. My new favorite little toy, so thank you so much for adding that in the Advent gifts. Lastly, I received my recent order from you and fell in love with the cover paper. I don’t know why I was holding out on purchasing them, maybe because I loved the idea of double sided cover paper but to my great surprise, these are awesome. I purchased the clover, because with a last name of Callahan, I am Irish and had to have them and I purchased the most beautiful Blue Butterfly Garden cover paper. May I request you keep them as a stock item. If not, could you let us know what the availability is so I can purchase more? Lastly, I promise, in my last order I ordered a front and back logbook page so I could have 2 log books, I had purchased the discs in a previous order. I use your Add More Zest pouch to keep my original logbook in, but with the new plastic covers I can’t zip the bag up. When you restock these, do you think you can get them a little larger? I so love the pouches and they are so soft. In my opinion, you are the best RU-vidr with diamond painting. I so look forward to all your videos. You keep everything so real, and I so appreciate your honesty along with your humor. Keep up the great work and I will speak to you again soon.

I normally have 7-8 paintings kitted up at once. Half go into travel bag (we go to our cottage on weekends) and they are small paintings. I always have a large painting on the go and at least one kitted up, they stay home. Rebecca, you made great progress on the adorable fox.

With my third watch of this mass wip and waffle, I think I'll finally get to the end of the video! And I'm close to finishing Magic Bus, only a four-ish sections left. As a reward for consistently doing schoolwork for two months straight, I bought a Simple Modern branded Stanley knock off, and I am in love. I've wanted one for awhile and as someone with [undiagnosed] ADHD, that's a HUGE thing. I love Simple Modern bottles, have been loyal to their brand since 2020, and love a new type to switch when I get bored of my current bottle.

Hi Rebecca, I had 4 vlogs to watch at 4pm so I decide to watch this after tea rather than split it up. Hope you get time to enjoy some family time while your daughter is home. The term "A lick and a promise" - was used by my Nan when growing up in Wales.

I'm glad to hear that you had a good Mother's day with your girls. I can't tell you the last time that I have been able to spend Mother's day with mine. My oldest daughter works weekends and all holidays are usually "black out" so she is unable to take the time off. My youngest lives two states away from me (a 14 hour drive), so she is unable to make it to see me. Thankfully, we celebrate Orthodox Easter, so my oldest has no issue of being able to get the day off since our Easter is usually a different day that non-Orthodox Easter. My youngest does not come home for Christmas, but she does for Easter. She will spend a couple of days with us before and after, then she will be off to spend the rest of the days before she heads back home with her in-laws (who of course are also invited to spend Easter with us). My oldest worked on the 17th, but we did go out after with her, her family and her in-laws to celebrate her birthday. I try to make it up to my youngests for her birthday. Since my birthday is on a holiday, if my oldest has the day off, she comes to my house with the baby and we will watch the parade, however, this time, my birthday falls on her work day, so her husband will bring the baby up for my birthday and we will watch the parade. We are thinking of entering our Jeep in the parade this year and maybe having the baby throw the candy out.

I don't currently have enough diamond paintings in my stash to warrant using the decision wheel; but I do have it downloaded and ready for the future as my stash grows. 😊 I love your WIP and waffles. I really enjoy your accent. I'm currently working on a 30x30 Chinese Pug that is so cute! It's a gift for my brother because it looks like his very old Max. He's 16, which is extremely old for this type of dog. Need to finish this week so I can take it to him next week as we travel to my grandson's wedding.

Sorry had to comment again. You made me chuckle when you said “Trolls” made me think of the horrible comment writers being like the trolls in the Trolls movie. Maybe their comment would have been nicer if they had farted the glitter over it. 😆

Hello Rebecca. On the subject of kitting up, that is very personal and differs from person to person. Me myself I usually kit up right away when I receive a painting. Witch means I’ve got sooo many kitted up. But I only do them one at a time. I don’t like having multiple wips (not counting HAED). And as always; love your videos and love the wip and chats. Second comment! "A pinch of salt" reminded me of how it's funny we have different ways of saying things. In America, we say "a grain of salt/sand." (I believe salt is more common, but I have heard sand before.)

I love diamond painting seasonally. Maybe divide up your stash by the 4 seasons. One season per wheel. I do love when you do these nice long catchup wip n chats. I am diamond painting a lot today to get back on schedule with my big Chuck Pinson. Yesterday I had to run errands and do some shopping for some traveling we have in store for us in April. Hubby is on a sabbatical so we are taking advantage. 11 night European cruise is booked and we are so excited! It will be the longest break I take from diamond painting since I started back in 2020. I’m packing some smalls ones in case I have a chance. Thanks for another fun Wip n Chat!

My family uses "a lick and a promise" to mean a superficial job, with a promise to do a more in depth job later. So for a bathroom, I'd wipe up the toothpaste off the sink and the mirror and any other obvious spills. tidy up any products on the counter, sweep the floor and empty the garbage so that it looks reasonably presentable, but save the real clean for when I have the energy to do it at another time. We're in Canada, but I suspect the phrase came from my English grandmother who I unfortunately never got a chance to meet as she passed before I was born. I'm recently returned to diamond painting after not having done it for a year or more but I am glad to see you're still in it and making videos. Love listening to you waffle!

Hi Rebecca! It’s been absolutely ages since I have left a comment and I’m so happy to be back! I’ve missed you and this group! 🙂 I was in a bit of a “funk” at the end of December/beginning of January, so I wasn’t watching the videos and got WAY behind. As you can tell, it’s taken me this long to finally catch up. I didn’t want to comment on older videos and mess up the conversation flow, but I’ve loved them all as usual. Thanks for another great wip & chat. I use the wheel several times. First to which company, then to which image from the company that was chosen. Also have wheels with companies with putty and wax, which I choose in the same way 🙈I think it makes it easier.😊

Hey Rebecca, here I am again, but to stir up the topics. LEGO! So, my boyfriend got me a set of legos for Valentine’s Day. The succulent set. Can we say instant addiction?! I’ve finished my set and deconstructed it as well. Bagged up and organized. We went to the LEGO store yesterday but I only got a small kit for my mom and a keychain for my sister. But today, I went to Target because the price was cheaper and bought 2 more sets, Flower Bouquet and Tiny Plants. 🌱 can we talk about the $$$?! My boyfriend said yesterday, “I’m sorry I introduced you to another expensive hobby” 😂

Hello Rebecca, I only dp with a tray storage. I have 2 32 units and one 40 unit. They are from Amazon, and I glued the two 32 together. One on top of each other, and I have the 40 units sitting beside the others. I want another 40 units, but I will wait. I can hold 107 trays at one time. I kit up into my tower, and I have to finish a kit before I start a new kit, but I love it. I could never go back to tipping out. I just pull a tray and go to work.

Just a thought, Rebecca…what if you completely finish one of the 3 paint gem kits (like the Herstory only has 4 paintings) then you should dekit that ONE set and kit up another to go in the drawer system. You could even do the dekit and new kit up in one video. Then you wouldn’t have to kit up 3 at once again. It might space it out to an enjoyable time frame for you but still be able to use the 4 drawer unit.

The fox is looking great, I’m doing a massive painting at the moment, it is called Abrams Falls. It is going to take forever as it’s 37.8 by 27.6

I have not been adverse to buying paintgem minis. However, in thinking about an upcoming trip that I will be making in October, I may have to purchase a set or two to take with me. My daughter (from other parents) is going to the New England area to photograph a wedding. She has invited my youngest daughter to tag along and will be heading to Boston. I met my best friend in Massachussets when I was stationed there and she currently lives just outside of Boston. I have been promising that I will make a trip there for YEARS! She has been to California to see me three times and I have yet been back to Massachussets since I left there over 30 years! I have decided that I am going to make the trip, spend some time with my friend and then we will meet up with my girls. I am sure that I would have no problems packing a paintgem mini into my suitcase to take along with me. I feel that if I don't, I may go through diamond painting withdrawals!

Good afternoon Rebecca! Hope you are well. Happy St Patrick’s Day. As I am watching this video, I am having a cup of tea with hubby and dekitting my Mandala paintgem mini.

I love my decision wheel, I like to work from my oldest to my newest painting. So I sort of group a few orders together depending on when I bought them and put them on a wheel so it can choose that way it's not exactly in the order I bought them but it is close, and then I have a wheel for my not so premium paintings and I flip between them. I'm a one til it's done painter so if the quality of one is kinda frustrating I can reward myself with a premium company when it's finished.

Hi Rebecca! It’s me again! I just wanted to say that I love watching your videos and when doing big blocks of colours, I am even using your step method.

I heard mum use a ‘flick and a promise’ as it’s just going quickly around to make places tidy but it’s not a full clean. I do similar in my place when I don’t have the energy to do a full clean…! I would rather spend my time diamond painting though! X

Hi Rebecca, Incoming Tech-chat/rant. I am a software engineer and Computer science instructor as my local college. how you explained the difference of the tiny decisions app using code and not A.I. is absolutely correct. creating a list in the app assigns a number to each item on that list, when you press the button on your phone a random number is picked and that item is selected. No "intelligence" just code. I teach this very subject to my students and I couldn't have explained better than you just did. A.I. is the newest form of technology, but technology has been a growing field for decades, not all technology is A.I. Also I want to clear up that what is current called AI is not true AI, it is Machine Learning, It copies what it gets from repository of data, it looks for patterns and tries to recreate what it found. So has actually form any true "intelligence" yet. Tech-chat over. I love this painting the fix is adorable.

Love watching your videos, dont have a big stash but thinking of doing a decision wheel as it takes me ages to decide what to do next less it for an event im doing. I also diamond paint by colour, I dont like doing sections and changing out my tray every few minutes! Have done good few 60x80cm paintings this way 😊

How you keep your hand from sticking to the glue while doing a whole painting, I have no clue. I always have to have a square of cover paper handy to protect the glue from my fat little hand. 😂 Also, you might not have zoomed in but I did anyway on my iPad. For some reason I have to see which symbol you are working on…although you don’t hear me when I say “You’ll be back to that D soon, Rebecca, and be irritated with yourself when you see it.” See, your videos are fun all the time…even when you fumble your tray. Don’t you dare start editing your videos! 😂😂😂

this is going to be a long comment of random little things. - the blue and orange pen of mine broke and I'm heartbroken over it as it was my favourite. I got some super glue and I'm hoping it will fix it. - I admire your ability to single place. I don't know why I do this or if it's just me (it probably is) but I give inanimate objects feelings. So if there is a group of diamonds together in the tray I don't like to separate them. I spend most of my time working out ways they can be close to their tray friends on the painting otherwise they will be sad. it's too mentally draining for me and I don't have this problem when I multiplace for whatever weird reason. - I use the decision wheel differently from you. I put the paintings in that I really want to do at that time and spin. If I land on one and there is some slight disappointment I'll spin again until I land on one without disappointment. And it's not even because I don't want to do the others it's just now is not the time and their time will come. why am I like this? 🤣

You say we can blame you for everything, does that include chocolate and sweets? 😂 Since when you talk about it, I get the craving and break my diet 😂. I have tried using the wheel but I just think and feel which one to do next and I go with it. So I'm the opposite from you which isn't a bad thing. I tried looking for Birkenstocks but I can only find the sandals with the buckles, is that what you have? Also, it's close to £100 which id love to try but I can buy multiple diamond paintings for that amount instead, which I would prefer doing.

Do you think this would have been nicer as a partial instead of all of that white background? I'm finding partials are getting hard to find.

TBH Rebecca, there is a very simple answer regarding if someone one doesn't like ur content/discussion, they can just switch off &/or go watch something else. There is absolutely no reason to be nasty or turn into a keyboard warrior.
