The Chiefs beat the 49ers because they were, at the very least, the best team in Miami, Florida on that day. All this analysis that smacks of sour grapes or lost bets gets real old.
For the young generation, we should all be so lucky to have someone like Howie long who knows how to speak professionally and eloquently when talking about football. We've lost a lot of the old commentators that we all use to listen too.
@@PenguinIceDelta EXCEPT - they ran into the best D on the field that night. Running back by committee and a game manager QB will only get you so far... unless they upgrade the 49ers will be lucky to finish 8-8. Mark it down👍
#1. That's Howie "Fucking" Long. #2. Read #1 two more times, out loud. #3. That is what "Expert Analysis" sounds like. #4. That is what a "Father" sounds like. #5. At 60, Mr. Long is still a very, very Bad Man. Happy Birthday, Big Fella #75!
The Chiefs won all season with these spurts, explosions, whatever you want to call them. They weren't just offensive explosions; it was both sides of the ball. How does it happen? Shrugs. Dunno. But the Chiefs did this often throughout the season. When it happens, it's usually game over.
Getting sick and tired of hearing that man wasn't game-set-match. There was still a minute and a half left when he threw that ball. So don't tell me that it was over Mahomes done that plenty of times.
luis _ expose? Mahomes had a 49.8 passer rating in the first 50 minutes of Super Bowl LIV, and the Chiefs had 10 points. He then had a 130.1 rating and led the Chiefs to 21 points in the game’s final 10 minutes, which is absolutely mind-blowing. Those 21 points aren’t on Jimmy G. They are on the 49ers defense.
luis _ 1.) It’s the Super Bowl...you take those shots to win the last game. If you go back and watch him through the season...he doesn’t take those hits and slides to protect. He isn’t Lamar, who I think will break down due to hits. 2.) Face it, Mahomes is special and has a bright future to become one of the greatest...2-3 Super Bowl rings. He is a leader and has freak physical abilities and a throwing arm. He also understands the unique position he is in term of his career and greatness. I challenge you to do more research and watch more videos on Mahomes and let’s see if you change your mind at all or at least acknowledge his greatness
@Luke Enno Especially since KC still had 3 timeouts. Touchdown by Niners would have only given them a 3 point lead. At bare minimum, that leads to overtime since I think Mahomes would have easily driven KC for a field goal. And very possible he drives it for a game winning TD in that situation. 90 seconds and 3 timeouts is a ton of time.
Howie said some good points. But I think he’s almost cutting JG too much slack being very young and inexperienced. His time behind Brady has to be factored in there somewhere. I support JG. I’m not a hater, but evidently not enough of that magic has rubbed on him. Could happen in the future...time will tell.
SF players & fans thought they had it won even as SF never was able to actually put the game away. Late 4th qtr it was Chiefs who had the defense, offense, head coach and QB. SF players and fans were left stunned and searching for scapegoats, enter the officials :)!!..........."21 straight points in a flash"....Howie Long
@@PrinceAmac You nailed it. Howie played the Chiefs twice a year when those two teams truly hated each other, and it was different league back then. When teams could mix it up and scrape a little (actually a lot more) without all the fines and suspensions.
JImmy G needs more work and experience. Being in SB as a Back up is different than being the starter. He will be fine , Everything came so quickly. No one including me was thinking Super bowl in the preseason.
Dave Zobel Jr and it was his first season after an ACL, which is a big big deal. If you look at Jimmy G’s stats for this season and compare to Drew Brees stats in his first full season, they are very similar. I’m not saying he will be as good as Brees, but he will definitely improve. People need to lay off him. The batted down ball should never have happened, there were 3 niners players trying to wrestle the guy, it’s just unfortunate. There were many other reasons why we lost. Must remember, he actually out played Mahomes for 3 quarters. Not many qb’s have done that. I’m really hoping he improves.
Jimmy G was having a good game aside from that 1st INT. Then the Chiefs started to blitz him and rattle him just like the 49ers got to Mahomes for 3 quarters and had him rattled; but got gassed at the end.
You mean on a still shot in the NFL. Yep, probably. As with every single still shot of the lines in the NFL on every single play. You know who else didn't get called for holding even ONCE in the Superbowl? The Niners...
