Sending the new frame up into some beautiful mountains. New setup did great, Hope you enjoyed the views as much as I did. • How To Build A 7 Inch ... #fpv #dji #fpvdrone #drone #betaflight #flight #djio3
I bought mine at the same dealer. Tom is a great person to deal with. Finished mine 3 weeks ago. I have put 10 flights on mine so far. Nice flight no doubt!
I'm flyin' TBS Source One V5s-7", a few of them. HDZ-Freestyles/&goggs and TBS Nanos [Radiomaster TS16X MKii MAX]. True RC Singularities and TBS Immortal-Ts at deep range. Works so sweet! 👍Great stuff, Carl is awesome!
Bro, you saved me. Im in the same situation with the Rekon7. Im assuming I'll get the frame sometime before 2024, hopefully. Anyways, I've had all the components for a pretty similar LR build but am waiting for the frame. I ordered this new frame youre using from the recommended site last video, and it should be here next tuesday. You're a lifesaver! Keep killin' it out there, bro👌
Hey man happy I could help, thats definitely one of the biggest reasons I make build videos and talk about the components I use. you will love the frame. Good luck with the frame swap🤘
Thank you@@andrewmedia3568 I also use HAM hack and custom antennas (iflight Crystal) and I have poor range. (but much better than stock) I'm using dji controller though. I'm thinking about switching to elrs. Maybe then googles will have more bandwith just for them and the range will be better..?
Nice video. I love that frame, it's lightweight and pretty easy to work on. I built up the original DJI Air Unit version for my first long range drone, got some great long-range flights, and lost it on a mountain when I had an unexpected voltage drop probably due to a bad battery cell. Now I know the importance of logging GPS data into my radio. It still hurts...
Cool video man! Im not really into long range but this was a nice watch! By coincidence I tell in my latest upload about getting the Foxeer Mega 5" frame recently. It was a great build and a complete package with all the tpu accessories, unfortunately I broke an arm pretty quick and couldnt find any replacement parts.😞 Tried to contact Foxeer but no luck, so I had to switch frames again. Bummer!
Great lr flight in a very nice landscape 💪💪. What was your lowest bitrate at the turning point and which antennas did you use on your goggles ? (Goggles V2 or Goggles 2?). Best greetings from Germany 😎👋
Lowest bitrate was about 12-15 mbps. At that distance and with whatever interference if any from the towers the bitrate would jump around from 12-30 mbps. using goggles V2 and on top running 2 TrueRC stubby omni directional LHCP, and then a visor patch antenna going to the bottom ports.
@@andrewmedia3568 thanks for your answer, mate 👍. Great setup and not without risk to fly so close to that radio towers. Well done 💪. I fly LR too, with a Chimera 7. I was 6 km (3.7 miles) out so far. I use Goggles V2 like you and 3-turn helicals.
Flight tine was only like 7-10 min and speed varied from 30-40-70 mph. don't remember ending voltage but I know I only used like half the Battery capacity. landed at around 4000mah so I had another 3500 Mah 🫡😄
I am also interested in long range. Will you make a test to see how long it can reach? Have you thought about auto pilot it (with something like ardupilot)?
I posted a video of me range testing it right after I built it but then a bunch of people freaked out crying about it being illegal and the worst thing ever and trying to report me to FAA so I took the video down. And auto pilot would defeat the purpose of flying. Like a self driving car. Might as well just watch videos of people fly if you wanna use autopilot. 🤷♂️. Not trying to be rude, that’s just my opinion.
@@dewhoop No its the 2.4ghz receiver. I did not use the antennas it came with I put 900mhz TBS immortal T antennas on it because they are longer. everyone says that I can't and it wont work but I obviously did and flew 4 miles out with no issues. 🤷♂
@@andrewmedia3568 curious. I ordered the aura 8" has same camera mount. Might put O3 or moonlight in. Moonlight fine has built in gummies for vibration
@@divingfalconfpv4602 if your getting an 8” I’m assuming your flying long range. You aren’t gonna get more than maybe 2 miles with walksnail, which is more like mid range. I have both systems. With O3 your only limit is battery life. I don’t think it will be an issue with the gyro if the camera is tight and the quad is tuned well.
I noticed that running Bi blades the quad ran soo much smoother so I would suggest that as well. Im not a PID tuning master by any means I just made small adjustments maybe these will help. Damping 0.95 Tracking is 1.1 Stick response 0.95 Dynamic damping 0 Drift wobble 0.85 Pitch damping 1 Pitch tracking 1.05 Master multiplier 1.05
@@andrewmedia3568 appreciate. I’ll try bi-blades and compare PIDS. I had to drop the master multiplier from 1.3 to .7 just to prevent flyaway and warm motors. Now I’ve got some throttle bobbles and just a little wobbly all over. Thanks
Yea none of the presets worked with mine. even stock BNF tune had wobble. company helped. And I tweaked it. playing around watching alot of bardwell and uavtech tuning videos
p.s. nice that your GF tolerates your "toys". Mine always hated my rc hobby... I just whipped my brand new 7" apex around the neighborhood and seriously freaked out my neighbors - that doesn't help - lol
I know you spend a lot on DJI stuff already... but... please... they're looking to lock down our hobby hand in hand with the FAA - they want government contracts - their consumer drone division is just an entry point to do just that.
Half baked thought there man, most western governments won’t allow a Chinese made electronic pen never mind a drone for government use. Sure there consumer products are a way for them to prove their other lines but Governments make regulations and they update their products in order to keep selling them, simple. If you want to be free from the rules you can put a bunch of open source stuff together..
