Foxxy Reviews: Conflict Denied Ops... The Dumpster Fire That Destroyed a Franchise 

Just was cleaning out my basement and found the cd, such vivid memories as a kid playing the beginning and getting angry my little kid brain couldn’t figure it out😂

The title speak itself, being denied by many player for existing as Conflict series

I grew up on PS2 and PC playing almost all Conflict Videogame series.. Denied ops was an insult to the conflict franchise it felt unnecesary

I finished this game through 10+ times unfortunately. Replayed tons of individual missions over and over. All while knowing how awful it was. I had no internet at the time to play online and had played everything else through multiple times as well :'(

I understand that I'm kinda too late to comment under this video, to leave my opinion about this game, but I have to do it since I gave this game another chance and decided to replay it again. So yeah, here goes my opinion. The game is okay. It is not bad, it is not good, it is somewhere in between. Like, both characters that you play as has differences between them. One is a sniper and the other one is a, basically machine gunner. And while one can snipe enemies from the distance, the other one can assault enemies and destroy them. And there is stealth in this game later down the line, when you unlock silencer. You just have to take out enemies from the distance, by shooting them in the head. Cause if you shoot in to the body, then it will take up to 3 or 4 shots to take them out. And the best way to do this is with the sniper guy. I beat one mission in full stealth, where you have to sneak inside this huge castle, find some professor, disarm nukes and evacuate from there. The only part of that mission where I had to start blasting around is after I get to the professor. But until then, I was just walking silently and nobody noticed me. But there is a problem to the stealth. It is broken because of your stupid AI partner. Like, you tell him to take cover and sit there, while you take out enemies silently, but he can't do that because, on his way he will find some breakable object, break it and raise the alarm, letting enemies know that you are here. And since some missions require you to complete them by stealth, you have to always save your progress in case if you or your AI partner screws up and you have a chance to start over from the same place that you failed. As for the shooting mechanic, it reminds me of Counter-Strike. And I'm not joking here. Because, even when you shoot from machinegun, there is a chance that sometimes you hit the enemy and other times not. The same with under barrel shotgun. Sometimes it hits the enemy on far distance and other times you can't even hit him up close in to the face. And the enemies are always like to run around your position, run behind you and hit you from behind, just when you think that there is no one in there. And then they spawn out of nowhere, so yeah, this is another problem. But in general, if you are not in rush and you are playing slowly, taking your time, taking down enemies one by one and slowly moving forward, then chances are that you gonna get through the game. By now, as for the time that I'm writing this comment, I managed to get to the mission, where you landing from the chopper down to some kind oil refinery. I just saved right there and decided to take a break, since previous mission on the cargo ship was too damn frustrating. So yeah, I kinda like this game but I'm not yet on my final verdict because, I didn't beat it yet.

Only good thing about it was that foley got rescued.

Desert Storm I & II, Vietnam and Global Storm had so much fun with my friend in Co-Op Mode when I got my first PS2.

Desert Storm 1 and 2 had fun couch coop.

This game is nothing near as the same as the other conflict games

It's fairly decent in co-op and some of the dialogue is memorable (Graves explaining the name of his rifle or complaining when the chopper abandons them once again due to LZ being hot)

Just finished the game and I enjoyed it a lot. Some maps are so much fun and some are just boring. I enjoyed the snow level where you got into an abandoned facility. Stealth is ok. Though there are 2 games that done the "stealth on a ship" thin far better(MGS2 and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory), the castle mission is fun. The best stealth obviouspy is when you blast your way through and as long as jobody rings the alarm, enemies in other rooms are unaware. This is obviously designed for co-op and then there is... Game spy... I really like the level design. Some wraps around itself several times, some has separate ways for when you play coop, so you can flank enemies, and they are not just linear corridors either. Even when they are linear corridors, they are connected sets of linear corridors. Also, exploding barrels are fun. There it is, I sais it.

To this day I always think denied ops was trying to be another army of two game the first game at least (you should review the army of two franchise pretty please) since they came out in the same year, almost same format, same graphics, same cutscences, go to different multiple countries, and 2 players with a command system but a fps version of army of two

The only thing that I liked In this entire game was the fact that you find out that Foley is alive and save him but that's it. You don't even get to play as him it's that bad but at least you find out that he's still alive

This was one of my first Xbox 360 games... never got past the first mission. Boring as hell.

I finished the whole campaign as a kid. I had a lot of fun but I did get very frustrated. I remember being lost for about 2 hours and found the gunplay was crap lol. I remember that destroying a helicopter was faster with a pistol. So because of that, I thought that pistols are extremely effective against helicopters, which they are in this game lol

As soon as I saw the 1st person view, I knew it wasn't going to go well. Spec ops The Line was a much better effort for an obscure tactical shooter

They should remake the first four games

Its sad the devs had to shutdown, up to this game, every Conflict game was so much fun. I loved the 4 man squad and being able to control each of them individually or just roll with one and command the rest of the squad. I started with Conflict Desert Storm on PS2, and then Conflict Desert Storm 2. I thoroughly enjoyed both those and then forgot about them for years. Eventually around probly the time Denied Ops came out and reminded me of this series, so I was surprised to find out they made. Vietnam and Global Terror, which I immediately bought both and are just as much fun as the others....excluding Denied Ops, I seriously don't know how Pivitol made 4 great games that were underground sure, but then they break their mold and try to adapt to what's popular, and it absolutely destroyed them....I want to know if it was solely Pivitol or was Gotham Games still the publisher and pushed them to get it out and be like shooters of that time? Or was it another publisher or someone that changed so much of what worked so well for 4 games in a row, but all the sudden they needed to change things because of whatever reason?! I'm just glad they got 4 great games out before this one killed them. But I'm still trying to find a copy of this on PS3 just to see how bad it is, out of curiosity. And then when I've had enough, depending on how much I paid for it, I'll destroy it in a extremely violent fashion lol. No....I'll probly just re sell it for half of what I bought it cause I don't care.

I've played Desert storm 1 and 2 since they released and all the years i played them on Easy i've now started to play them on Hard...

For me its just really annoying that its not in 3rd person

My dad bought me this game for the 360 for my birthday I think, but I think he saw this on the store shelf and thought it would be a fun game

If Denied ops followed andimproved upon their old formula, the game would be so much better.

I found this game in the basement along with other PS3 games I stopped playing when I grew up, I didn't even try the game but I already felt like it was a bad game, apparently I was right

There's a great sacred knowledge about game industry, which only gamers know, and which is never known by producers of the game-making companies. And this knowledge sounds like this - "Sequel should never be in different genre. It doesn't matter how good your game is - change the genre - and you will kill the franchise". There's some exceptions out there (Ghost Recon, Resident Evil) - but they are exceptions. Anyway - changing of the genre is the deadly ordeal, that your franchise may not survive. If you want to make a different gameplay - just figure out different name for your product. Make it Spin-off!

I legitimately feel bad for you having played this. Scrubbing toilets sounds more fun than this game🤣 Good video tho

I will take a lean mechanic over a sticky cover system every time. People who play tactical shooters will understand. This game does look dreadful though

I played denied ops and you could play in first person and third person just like the previous conflict games.

I played it many years ago. It was absolutely God-awful. I stopped playing after the first mission.

the graphics are okay you say? when a shooter is released in 2008 and looks worse than Far Cry 1, Doom 3 and Half Life 2 all from 2004 (!) then it has shit graphics! otherwise you are completely right though.

just buy this game on steam cuz its dirt cheap, and then now im requesting a refund.
