@@RobertLesac you tried both 2.0 how? Did you update firmware on the receiver or did you select those options in the transmitter? What type Taranis radio (model & year of model)?
@@RobertLesac not sure why you chose to update firmware on receiver. I'm not familiar with XSR-M, only XSR. Please see information at this github site: github.com/betaflight/betaflight/wiki/The-FrSky-FPort-Protocol
TMac, Great video. I love your explanation on the F4 flight controller. Now I know why I could not get the R1F working on my iFlight Cinebee. Also, I finally got my R1 working on my Beta85X 4K. After all that time, through the BETAFPV user group I found out that f.port doesn’t seem to like TX3. When I moved the f.port to TX1 and did Salk of the rest of the magic by setting up a softserial and so forth, I got all of the telemetry that you can possibly have. Now even my LUA scripts work. Have a fantastic weekend! Cheers, Sam
Thank you for this video! Is there an uninvert hack for the Jumper R1F receiver? It has quite a few SOT23-5 packages, one of which I burned up and had to replace, which was an inverted tri-state buffer (I forgot the exact part number) I have a Mamba F405 receiver and I can't find a special S.port on it, out of ALL the pins it breaks out, none of them appear to be S.port...... I have not found any documented way to do this, so I might give it a shot, but it might require replacing such chips with noninverted equivalents.
Thanks Side Advice! Really liked your video on fractional share investing! Didn't even know that concept existed! You've given me Something new to look into! Have you researched exchange-traded funds (ETFs) yet? Thank you!👍
Yes, very nice... if only it worked on my taranis X9 lite :-( I'm getting RC receiver inputs, but NO telemetry. I had to upgrade my R1F to latest firmware (2.1) because my transmitter is on 2.1.6.
Hi TMac, Any idea on effective range? The product specs say > 2km. Is this really true (or even close)? At $20 a piece, I'd be tempted to use a couple of these in my giant scale gasser (with powerbox for servo power). Thoughts?
hmmm, not sure I'd do that. To begin with, I don't use these F Port receivers as they're "troublesome" to connect with F4 flight controllers and I've moved on to Crossfire receivers. So, I'm not certain of range capability. Secondly, I believe these use "pre-V2.x" ACCST protocol had random, uncontrolled servo movements sporadically at times. Not noticeable with quadcopter s, but apparently not good with fixed wings. FrSky updated their FrSky receivers protocol (V2.x and beyond) supposedly to take care of this, however, I do not believe non-FrSky receivers such as this one have access to that 2.x protocol (I do not know this for certain).
hi, you will face these problems with jumper t lite controller and jumper r1f receivers. browser browser receiver, betaflight CLI set serial_halfduplex ON set serialrx_inverted = ON as . but it is not active, the engines are not running. what could be the problem?
Help please its normal tu have continuity betweem the signal pad and negative in the r1f jumper receptor or its a problem....thanks for the video Ill be waiting for your answer thanksss
Thanks for watching! Start at this time mark ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hwJtnkVq274.html then setup in Betaflight following this process ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hwJtnkVq274.html . If you look at at a product page for the Jumper R1F receiver, you'll see it uses the FrSky ACCST D16 protocol (language it "speaks to the transmitter with). So, the next question is, does the Jumper T-Lite "speak" this "language" (use this protocol? By looking at the product page for the Jumper T-Lite, whether its the version with the CC2500 chip or the 4-in-1 module (which includes the CC2500 chip) the answer is yes, it does support the FrSky ACCST D16 protocol
As mentioned in this video, the R1F uses F Port. The R1 V2 Mini does not. If you'll be using an F4 flight controller, I'd stay away from the R1F since F Port requires a "special" pad on the flight controller (as mentioned in this video) which not all F4 flight controllers have
@@TMacFPV thank you for reply. I am buying F3 controller. What do you prefer R1F or R1 V2 Mini. A guy said that V2 has more range. Can I get RSS feeds in R2 mini?
Hi sir do u think Dalrc f405 fc can support this r1f? Can i just connect to sbus pad in fc? This receiver is having a price cut in local hobby shops. Cheaper than the other evil company's
If you're speaking of the DalRC F405 AIO FC, look at the pinplout diagram under product details at the following link. It shows how a receiver is hooked up to SPort which I believe I cover in this video m.banggood.com/DALRC-F405-AIO-Betaflight-F4-Flight-Controller-BEC-OSD-50A-Blheli-32-3-8S-Brushless-ESC-for-RC-Drone-p-1300573.html?akmClientCountry=America&ad_id=454664038781&gclid=CjwKCAjw2dD7BRASEiwAWCtCb2pSjDVpO_ae01a8R8rNtwr7yNaEeJp5S8X-Hb4BqNvU3n8vwe_EOhoCPh4QAvD_BwE
According to it's specifications, it's effective range is >1.5km. Many factors go into what range you will get out of this (or any other) control signal link. This includes the environment in which you fly, obstacles, etc. I do not regularly fly the R1F . I fly (and if you want strong control signals at distance and penetration through objects) Crossfire
He upgraded my taranis x9 lite to Access 2.1 protocol and now I can't bind the Jumper R1 + receiver, I can't upgrade the receiver to 2.1 either. I have tried different firmwares of the xsr receiver and it does not work. Because I understand that for the receiver to bind, the radio and the receiver must have the same firmware version, right? Thank you
Its my understanding the X9 Lite uses ACCESS protocol. The R1 receiver does not. You will not be able to place ACCESS firmware on the R1. So, you will not be able to use ACCESS on the transmitter and try to bind an ACCST receiver (like the R1) to it. Are you using an XJT Lite external module with the X9 Lite to use ACCST D16 or D8 protocol? Both your transmitter and receiver need to have/support the same protocol.
@@TMacFPV I have a couple R1s and I can't find any R1Fs so I'll have to try it, though there might be a problem on F4 FCs without inversion because apparently there's no place to tap in to uninverted sbus/fport signal like on the frsky rxs, must be why they came out with the R1F. I have a spare XSR too, but they don't have pre 2.0 ACCST F-port firmware, so can't do that with my T16 either.. Got to love frsky *eyeroll*. I want telemetry and smartaudio on these 2-uart boards dangit, lol, nevermind camera control.
