There seems to be a batch of these receivers coming a bit offset for binding out of the box. This means the receiver seems not to bind at all. Just move the fine tuning to -10, or -50, try different values both + and - and try to bind. After the binding do the fine tuning process again to get the best out of the receiver
gosh ... finally i found this. today i had a couple of time of rxloss and after i upgraded the firmware and fine tune it, it works awesome. Thank you, sir !
@@NordFPV I tried so many times to get this receiver to bind, but it just wouldn’t but after watching your video! Bingo it bind the very first time! Thank you again 🙏
Thanks! I just got this (from you) but couldn't figure out why I was losing connection and the values jumping around in betaflight. After fine tuning (no other guide mentions this) I found that at 2 I lost connection, and after changing to -70 it was working just fine! THANKS
I'm quite surprised no one else mention this. These receiver comes almost always with an offset of -50 - -70 and it's very difficult to bind if you don't start with that kind of offset.
@@NordFPV indeed. I managed to bind fine, but the red led was just pulsing dimly and couldn't understand why (new to all this) but thanks to this video I didn't have to tear it down again :D
Any idea why R1F fail to bind with Jumper T-lite? By the way, there is no just "FrSky" under multiprotocol in the radio, there are only FrSky X or FrSky X2. And I suggest FrSky X is correct one to use, isn't it?
You are right, FrSky X is what you should use, and there has been a batch of these receivers were you need to move the fine tuning to -50 before binding the first time. Try -50, or +50, and keep moving farther if the receiver is not binding. Seems like some of these receivers have a very big offset out of factory. When you bind, do the fine tuning process again to make sure you are in the best spot
What if I only need 7 channels, does it transmit all 16 channels? I set the channel range to 1-8 but I am able to send channel 9 data on my edgeTX Jumper t18. I read that transmitting more than 8 channels will add more latency.
On this specific drone, it's quite tight to be honest. It works, but there's barely room. You can always put it on the top, but I don't like to have things over the gyro.
@@NordFPV Id rather do not mount it on the top since i have Tbs nano pro and its getting toasty there , i suppose i will put 1/2mm shim under mounting screw to elevate AiO bit. Tnx for info!
@@NordFPV Got a question i mounted R1F in my Tinyhawk2 freestyle and im getting failsafe at 100-150m connections are good im using soldering pads near SPI antenna i have enabled all settings in betaflight so im not sure what causing the issue now. Thank you
@@martingru All depends on the place where you are, the noise, trees, bushes, etc. One thing you can always check is your antennas, and as I say in the video fine tuning is important. That said, around 200 is not a weird number for these devices
@@NordFPV Im flying at plain field with almost no buildings at all with no trees ,from advertised 1.5km 200m is VERY poor i dont want to fly so far but stock SPI inside TH2F got me up to 200m :)) Ill try to reconfigure it one more time and check it out when stops raining. Thx for answers.
@@NordFPV I connect a jumper r1f in the iflight f7 fc in the T2, 5v and ground. The receiver connects to transmitter put not respond any movements. Urart in the 2 position rx serial, i put all the configuration following the iflight diagram and still not respond. Did you know what is the problem? Thanks
I've seen this a couple of times. What you have to do is to do move the fine tuning frequency before binding. Either a lot to the + or a lot to the -, try with -50 first and try to bind. If it doesn't work try with +50 and try to bind. Once it's bound do the fine tuning process to find the ideal place. If 50 doesn't work, try with other numbers, 25, 70, etc.
@@NordFPV in BIND mode Green light solid, Red light flashing slowly is what the 1 page manual reads that comes with the R1F, but i get red/green solid just like yours. however it does not bind with my Taranis x9dplus (OpenTX 2.3.14 / 2021-07-23) ACCST/D16... got me two R1F's but both act the same. There is no freq tune afaik on the X9D.... (i have the same packaging as you showed ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BUzlGOji9hc.html )
@@crabsodyinblue There has to be a fine tuning section. That is not particular of a radio, it's part of OpenTX the software of most of these radios. These receiver comes a bit offset and it's a MUST lately to move the frequency a bit before binding.
