As I said in the video, things like the power plan do not seem to be so cut and dry, so I will be digging into them further for content in the future. Even though I did not have a solid answer for it, it did not feel right leaving it out of the guide, so I wanted to mention it. I did not want to make claims about it that I could not substantiate with my own tests and other sources. (Oh and also, yes, this is a bit of filler content as I work on some other projects. I'm still alive, and stay tuned!) Anyway, thank you for the support so far, and let me know what you guys would like me to cover below! Thanks for watching :)
I benchmarked all the power plans on Intel i7 12700F and balanced gives the highest FPS and best 1% lows. Performance, high performance and turbo actually decrease performance lol
if you have a decently modern system (something within the last 6-8 years at the very least), there's very little you can do in Windows/NVidia settings that will genuinely affect FPS. what you get is what you get, there's nothing that will "unlock" a hidden significant amount of FPS. Most Nvidia/Windows "tweak" videos are nonsense made by people who have zero clue about the settings they are telling you to change. Not talking about OP, just tweak videos in general. And some advice is just plain stupid. Do not turn off Core Isolation/Memory Integrity, that is an important security feature and has negligible performance impact. Another example is Power Plans. Changing it to Extreme/High just runs your CPU at max frequency all the time (even when not gaming), which is just a waste of heat. If a game is running, your CPU and GPU will automatically run at their max performance regardless of what power plan you have (unless you manually gimp them). More "tweaker" nonsense hogwash Best thing to get good FPS in tarkov is have an X3D or 13th/14th Gen Intel CPU, low latency RAM, game on SSD, and a decently modern GPU (RTX 3000+ or whatever the AMD equivalent is). These parts aren't even expensive. A 5800x3D + 4060 Ti ~$1000 USD PC will run Tark at 1440p 120+ fps on most maps. GPU doesn't really matter, just get the best CPU and RAM you can afford. A X3D with a 3070 will get more FPS than a i7 8700K with a 4090....
or maybe, I don't know, the devs can just optimize their game? like legit you shouldn't be averaging 120 FPS on the most modern specs, and no one should need to invest thousands of dollars in parts just to play a game comprised of spaghetti code xd
@@mzmzmzmzmzmzmzmzmzmzmzmzmzmz or maybe, i dont know, dont be poor and buy a pc that will run the game you want to play. or maybe, i dont know, play literally anything else
most likely just means you have a sufficient system to begin with. not sure what you were expecting, but this was clearly meant for underpowered builds
Unless you only have 8 gigs of RAM you should probably not be messing with virtual memory because virtual memory is much slower. Its not going to make up for real ram when running 3D applications and so there will be no real difference in performance unless you are drastically below the system requirements for the game.😊
It will take effect if the game asks for more than 8 gigs of ram. Virtual memory won't increase FPS, but will allow the game not to stutter. This is very rare tho, as 8gigs of ram is mostly enough for many games. The thing that matters allot tho, is the ram being dual channel. So if someone wants better perfomance, they better have two sticks that are compatible with each other. Also why not take 8gb x 2 RAM. It will also help overall perfomance of your system.
If I have 32gb of ram and 2 512 gb nvme's is it better to use no page file at all or would I benefit having it turned on?. I've always had it on no paging file at all
i messed with Pagefile based on peoples recommendations and personally it hurt me more than it benefited, Klemintime is telling the truth with everything. And personally I also have 32 gb of ram and no i left it on system managed since last time i had it changed i had 16gb's of ram with tarkov and once i upgraded i bluescreened a couple times since i didnt revert it back (No HDD) i hade it enabled on using a SSD, also upgraded to M.2
With that much RAM you don't need to worry about it at all. Most of the performance fixes these guys go over have zero impact unless your specifications are veey much below the recommended
i use windows+R and type msconfig then in the services tab you can disable all the launch services you dont want with easier ui, carefull tho make sure you check the hide microsoft services
This will fix things sure but really want fps boost buy 7800X3D went from 7600 to X3D I now sit at 144 fps most maps at 1440p with 7900xtx streets went from 60-70 fps to 130+
@@AKmumu When the devs are just like top fuel dragsters (fueled by vodka) it isn't very realistic to expect anything optimized. Just like the last 8 odd years has proven.
If you have discord, turn off its overlay that had issues for my buddy even though he had a 3090 TI and an i9-14900kf, if that doesn't help definitely reduce the amount of processes in the background, and ultimately not alot of people say this but, upgrading your computer's hardware is the best option, I did it and boy did it feel like heaven
Hey- it's klem on my old account. It's an option only present on Windows 11. I thought I mentioned that in the video but I couldve forgot, and if I did I'll post it in the pinned comment when I get back home from work. Sorry for the confusion!
@@NevioKluge Usual mid -max settings. I noticed that if you have fps less than 45, then the delay is significant and even noticeable during turning. it is unnoticeable, conda fps is not lower than 60-65 fps, then everything is quite good. I have 4090 and in 4k it is impossible to achieve good fps, higher than 100 is not realistic, especially with good settings. optimization of course leaves much to be desired.
It might be that you have an old system that is incompatible or that you have an older version of windows. Is everything up to date and what are your specs?
Nice guide, try to relax a little bit though. Seems kind of like you are tripping over your words and stuff. Do you have a script prepared to read from? Really great info though
Sorry, this one was recorded after work. I normally run without a script, as if I have everything memorized it tends to flow a lot more naturally. I feel like I sound way too monotone or artificially excited when I do have one. I had some notes in this one that I was referring to, though, which may have contributed to me sounding a bit odd or tripping up. (I.E I had "Optimizations for Windows Games" written in my notes- thats where that trip up came from lmao)
