Oh yes Father , you are right .God is the “I Am”.

So subtle. So quiet. So reflective. So unlike anything on this subject that i have ever heard. The best explanation i have ever heard for this. I must listen many times and try to remember. We see the disciples continuing to change their ideas of Who Jesus was.. and Who God, the Father, is. As well as ideas about the Holy Spirit. We hear St. Paul tell us about his struggles.. There is the story of the saint who would build himself a shelter of sticks.. stay awhile. Burn it and move on.. lest he get too comfortable, perhaps.. I don't know why.. I see that we must be on guard, perhaps, to 'burn' our tendencies to stop and settle in.. A hard saying.. who can hear it? I dare to use a scripture here... Thank you.

Fr. Seraphim seems to point toward an ecstasy of apophatic unknowing. But I wouldn't think this to be in contradiction to our call to "ascend through contemplation of the visible archetypes toward their Creator". We just need to use love as our mode of knowledge for this contemplation, as it does not "deform" the symbol/icon it contemplates. This way, everything is a eucharistic offering back up.

I don’t get it, Mystery of the Trinity is one thing, but are we supposed to let go of the Trinity and embrace Arianism to not own anything. It seems silly and inconsistent.

I am confused. I think I am one of those people who questions and to the point of doubting myself, but what about the Bible? Isn't that our reference point of who God is?
