I'm a former FM3/FM9 Turbo user who switched to a Stomp XL. I'll admit to favoring the Fractal's sounds, but hated the UI and also prefer the XL's smaller form factor. I would love a Fractal w/ a Helix-like user friendliness and a Stomp XL-like form factor.
This is exactly how I feel. The fractal sounds cannot be beat IMO. BUT the form factor and UI of Helix/HX is simply leagues above. I love the fact I can tweak literally anything with the fractal but there is something about tweaking a tube screamer and only have a volume, gain and tone knob…
I agree 100%. I have a Fractal AXE FX 3 and a Helix, and definitely Helix is waaay easier to use, as long as you don’t use the line 6 default presets you can get great tones. both are great units, they sound different but not in a bad way.
Totally agree! When I sold my Axe Fx 2 XL+ I actually bought an FM9 (which you see behind me) to replace it. I love both units, but the full rack was just too much. They both sound great, but to your point, just different
I've been using the HX Stomp for bass guitar for a few years. It's amazing. I don't have the XL model, but I like the compact size of the regular Stomp since it easily fits into my gig bag. The Stomp is an amazing piece of gear.
😅😬😬 so I actually went over that at the end of this video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Gr488T3hB0Y.html Essentially it was a stage name because I didn’t think my real name - Ryan Snyder - sounded country enough
Could you show what your signal is like in the hx stomp when using the PS200 and going out to the foh at the same time? I can't make them both sound great, and it's blowing my mind.
@@ryansnydercg I am sending the signal from the hx stomp to the FOH through the outputs, and the PS200 through send using the split signal, but PS200 does not sound as expected, it lacks body
Try the new Fractal FM9 with the most recent firmware/software updates. It was good before, but now I think it's about as perfect as a modeler can get. Seamless audio and switching, thru-and-thru!
Yeah, I didn't notice that. I was only offering insight into my particular perspective... only adding to the conversation. Not trying to persuade anyone either way. I stopped trying to persuade people about very much of anything years ago! 😛 I'm a 100w Marshall Super Lead/Fender Super Reverb guy myself. I've found the FM9 (turbo or any Fractal incarnation) to be close enough I don't have to lug around dual Marshalls and dual Super Reverbs (I love stereo rigs) any longer. I still prefer real tubes and pushing serious air through 4x12 bottoms. But the Fractal is so close my back and/or crew guys' backs thank me for the change. Other than pros, I seriously doubt anyone can tell a difference anyway. Once one dials in a good sound that is pleasing, tone, is tone, is tone, is tone, no matter how one chooses to achieve it. Cheers! @@ryansnydercg
Dude I couldn’t agree more! The latest fractal is essentially at the tonal level of real amps. And not having to carry around 40/50 lbs amps. Amazing. And the feeling of having air pushed behind you can be achieved with amp modelers, just requires a little bit more gear
