Let's make fractured cards! These are perfect for using up your card scraps and patterned paper stashes. Cut the paper into different shapes and build up the shapes like a jigsaw puzzle.

The reason I was asking if there were another way to make the card is my Cricket Explore doesn’t always do the best on intricate cuts even under the best conditions.

These cards should be ok as there aren't any intricate cuts, it's just straight lines and simple shapes. However, if the card is tearing, try a lighter cut setting. I have so many of these paper pads & I rarely use them. This is a brilliant idea! You are really good! ❤ thank you for showing us how to make our own. I’ve been using the contour button more. It really does make things easier but I forget about it. lol Thank you Sarah for putting these videos together for us ❤

Could you use a solid color for the background and add your cutouts making sure you have a border so the background color will show?

I'm not quite sure what you mean. The cutouts fit snugly into the 5x7 inch border piece, so there wouldn't be room for another colour to show through unless you modified the template in Design Space.

@@CraftWithSarah I wasn’t very clear. If you cut your shapes and arranged them on a solid color making sure to allow for a border around each one so the background would show, would that work?

Do you mean-cut the shapes smaller so the background shows instead of the border framework?

@@peggypipkins2267 So just positioning the shapes on the base card, instead of using the frame? Yes, that would work but it might be a little tricky to line all the pieces up straight.

I don't have any packs of patterned paper but I just switched the fractures to print then cut and then browsed and picked out patterns for each of those. Super hard to match the patterns up to others each time but hopefully it will look cool. Off to cut that here in a bit.

That's a great idea :) Where are you getting your patterns? Some websites have paper backs available with different patterns that all follow the same kind of theme or colour palette, so they will match. Creative Fabrica have lots of packs like that.

@CraftWithSarah I just got the patterns in the patterns palette in design space. I posted my dolphin card in the contest post. I didn't get one section perfectly lined up, though; cataracts are not my friend!
