Venue looks cool...I have only ever been to one LAN, but it was awesome at AMD headquarters in Markham. Went with OCN...all nighter...catered...Ln2 overclocking...AMD gave away tons of hardware. Was a great time. Would love to go to a Quake LAN one day.
@@filmopfil Nothing out of the ordinary for veteran Quake players. Player spawns are in fixed positions and can be forced by standing in the correct location (it always tries to choose the furthest). All items spawn at a set interval. By keeping track of what weapons, health and armour your opponent has, where they spawned and putting sound into the equation, you can make very accurate predictions of where your opponent is. At the highest level there's also just familiarity with the players. At a certain point you start figuring out the specific playstyle of every player - which angles they try to hold, exactly how aggressive are they, how fast or slow they move between key locations, etc. etc.
Ton1 knows the position of the enemy 100% of the time. Sometime he is 'off' just to not look suspicious. Don't play Quake, but in any BR this is a sure sign of cheating.
LOL ! The answer is in your response: you don't play Quake, so you can't understand what's happening. Everything is learned in this game, especially the respawn of opponents based on our position. We can force spawns, etc. When I'm off, it's just because I'm losing map control, and I'm listening to know when the enemy takes a mega or a big armor to contest it in the next rotation. We always know where our enemy is 70% of the time because we have over 10,000 hours in this game. Quake is not a BR!
@@yvespcn There is not a single game where you, given any skill level, can constantly track someone like he does here. He might be good, but not that good :) BTW, see to more players here does the same. And as Shaft said, 17 players signed up, only 5 had played Quake before, they really can't be THAT good 😅 I'm normally watching top streamers, and they immediately spot any cheaters in a game, and they are WAY less obvious than in this case.
@@happydaydreamer1 You don't know the game. Any Quake player will understand that Ton1 is not cheating. He's far from being the best player in terms of tracking in this game. I invite you to check out Serious, Faye, and many others. It may seem spectacular, but it's just Quake.
@@happydaydreamer1 They ARE that good. Rohm was a Quake Pro League challenger and finished top 8 in another LAN couple years ago against the world's best. Yes, this was a small-scale event, but these 2 particular guys are veterans.
