Salutations friends!
I have wanted to start reviewing entire houses, and perfume collections and I thought it would be fun to start off with the super trendy and hyped Nirvana fragrances from Elizabeth and James.
I give a mini review of all 4 fragrances, and let you know what I think of the entire line, and where these fit into within the perfume.fragrance world. If you are interested then keep watching!

You say you are not cool, but I don’t agree. You are you. That’s cool in most people’s books. Awesome review, and you explain it easily for people who may not know much about perfume to understand.

I've just discovered these fragrances when I stumbled upon a roller ball travel size of Nirvana Bourban at TJ Maxx and as soon as I got home, I immediately began hunting the others down. I can't speak on the other fragrances, but I'm in love with the one I have! Somedays I don't want something overly complex, so these would work great for those days. Great video!

Love all 4.. Bourbon I only wear in the fall ( day or night!!) White is / was my office scent White mixed with Black is my day off scent Black is my evening scent Rose is new to me but I love this during these warm days and cool nights Great discounts now out there so perfect time to stock up

Great video! These have just launched in the UK and I've finally got the chance to try them. I just posted a first impressions video and really wasn't sure on them, they definitely need to be tested on the skin. I *think* Black might be my favourite so far

Hello my beautiful friend, I know I’m late to the video and super late to the nirvana and James perfume line I only started to buy those about two years ago when they started showing up at tjmax and Marshall’s. I first bought the black and white one and liked it sprayed together and alone and then recently found the one called amethyst and Bourbon which I like even more the Bourbon one reminds me of the Replica one by the fire but even better. Like these very much and will continue to look into what else will catch my eye.

Great review! I had such difficulty trying to understand the notes when I smelled these in sephora, but after hearing your in depth description I think i'm gonna give them another try. I hope you plan to review the two new ones soon! French grey & Amethyst

My personal favorite that I almost wear daily is the Bourbon & I would love to know which would combine to create a beautiful layering scent out of the entire Nirvana collection, including the Amethyst & the French Grey (if you had tried those two as well)?? Beauty meow, thanks for this video. I have nirvana black and white. I usually layer them, but black is my favorite. I tried the newer releases, but I prefer the black and white release. They are soft, clean, and sweet.

I agree with your thoughts about the packaging, very minimalist and unisex. That's what pulled me first to trying these out. I was expecting to like Black and Bourbon (because I'm "cool") but surprisingly ended up loving Rose and picking up White more often. ha. Regarding the trend towards more simplistic fragrances, maybe it's because the profit margins are bigger or the raw materials are getting more expensive/ harder to come by???

Maybe. I think sometimes also people assume complex fragrances seem to be more mature or harder to understand, so having a simpler more minimalist fragrance might make their target market wider and help them sell more. Either way as long as they create a beautiful juice it can be minimalist or complex, I love it all!

I love the rose in Nirvana Rose, but on me it quickly loses the rose and I just get a muddy vetiver. Nirvana Bourbon might replace my Atelier Vanille Insensée once it’s done as my basic vanilla.

These fragrances are in fact easy to wear but in a good way, It's focuses on a few notes that are distinctive by their cleanness and sophistication. I'm a perfume snob and tend to care less for designer fragrances, but I smelled niche perfumes that felt so much cheaper than this. My favorite are Nirvana white and Nirvana rose.

I hated bourbon when I tried it on Sephora but I got a free sample in an order and I honestly have grown to love it. that cologne esque scent is so unique and different to what I'm used to

Marianne Vanderlip I had the same experience, when I smelled it in store. It was way too strong for my liking, but after getting the rollerball of bourbon, it's become one of my favorite from the Nirvana line.

I love Nirvana black. It's my fave from the line. Have you tried layering them yet? When they first came out the white and black were marketed to layer. They almost smell entirely different that way. I haven't layered the bourbon or Rose ones yet. Great review and you look fab with your hair down.

I’m wondering if the Nirvana Bourbon I got was legit. To me it smelled like bonfire smoke. I got no vanilla at all.

I loved this video! I have only smelled the two original ones, black and white. I liked black better but not enough to buy it. It's like it was trying to be sophisticated but just couldn't. I don't know. I don't have a good nose for scents, and I guess that's one of the many reasons I liked this video, bc you mentioned that. So now I have a question, can we train our sense of smell to enjoy other type of fragrances, I would like to branch out, but I've tried and I just don't seem to be able to. What are your thoughts?

I like the way the Nirvana white smells but it isn't long lasting on me at all.I love floral fragrance but like them to linger on me,this is a no repurchase for me.

I feel so called out for still being a bit of a fragrance n00b and preferring simpler fragrances xDD honestly, for me, the heavier, more complex ones trigger my migraines, and just... smell like old ladies? It depends on the fragrance, of course, but I find perfumes stronger than Nirvana White to be too "in your face." I just want to be able to smell my perfume on myself, and carry a soft cloud throughout the day of what I'm wearing. Because of this I lean towards EDTs, instead of EDPs, but I like that Nirvana White is an EDP that I can wear without feeling overwhelmed.

I’m the same exact way. I love perfumes that sit close to the skin. I don’t like my scent to be louder than I am. Less is more!!

You will love Gardenia Violet by Gucci ... (purple bottle) as for Nirvana, I just got the bourbon one....I tend to buy sandalwood / vanilla fragrances for night ware....but after your review I'm nervous about the bourbon....does it dry lighter fragrance?? does it become more vanilla or more something else? i like the spicy ness of it too....but not too much vanilla which is what i'm worried about

Amy Hackmer I highly recommend the Bourbon myself. Although many may not agree it tends to be my personal favorite out of their entire Nirvana collection!

@@Silly87410 I am pretty sure I posted this when I was still trying to decide if I wanted it. I ended up getting it. Layers nicely with John Varvatos Dark Rebel. Another perfume I got that accommodates masculine users is Jason Wu's Velvet Rouge. I'll have to search through your videos to see if you reviewed it.

Very strange to me but after hearing great things about this line I've tried each a couple times and they pull a chemical smell on me. Can't figure out why they do that but as much as I wanted to like one or more they don't work with me

I don't think thats odd, I know a few people who get some chemical/synthetic smells on them.
