Hi Omar I love perfumes with Cardamom like JPG Le Male Le Parfum, YSL Le Nuit De L'Homme. Anything else you can recommend that is longer lasting and be an all year signature scent? Thanks 👍
I normally go by seasons. I have some that I would never use in summer and others are exceptionally kept and used in hot season. Always good idea to have few versatile ones 👌
As someone new to the fragrance world, I’ve purchased a couple things (reserve privee and invictus victory extreme) but I was never able to actually categorize where in my collection I’d fit them, I just bought them because they were different than what I already had. I seriously appreciate the informative content you make sir 🙏🙏🙏
I own Gentleman reserve privee too and i love it! It's one of the best Iris fragrances in my opinion...i just love this boozy vibe mixed with iris. Great choice mate :D
Prada Lhomme is easy iris to wear but it has sophistication and elegance making it also ideal for the office. But yes, TF Grey Vetiver is great for the office
I am a broke psychology student (*sighs in debt*) with a very limited budget, but your videos got me into fragrances. I was planning on starting my collection with a few cheapies and then upgrade later on. 1. Versatile: montblanc explorer or versace dylan blue 2. Date/night out: trussardi riflesso or moustache rochas 3. Summer: versace pour homme or eau fraiche 4. Clubbing: halloween man x 5. Uni/work: Ferragamo F Black or Burberry Touch These are my options at the moment, but once I start my internship I’ll be able to save some money. Thank you for your content!
This is a very solid framework for building out a fragrance collection. This is how I’m currently building out my current collection, by fragrances that I enjoy for specific occasions. Two things that I’d like to add: every man should have a niche fragrance, differing volumes of fragrances per season, and different types of fragrances for different climates. I live in Florida so I currently have two aquatics in my collection.
I'm currently at 92 bottles in collection. I want to push for 100 but I got my bases covered and as discussed in this video I have fragrances that smell the same or similar. I recently purchased Isola blu from Roja.
I just own 3 fragrances 😂. Versace eau fraiche, Office for men, The Most Wanted azzaro. I prefer fresh and masculine scents. But just with these 3 I always get compliments daily. My gf tells me I always smells good. So solid picks for whatever the occasion.
@@SchoolOfScentYour top 3 recommendations for perfume for outdoor weeding in heat which projects heavily, compliment getter, mostly inoffensive, long lasting??
@@SchoolOfScent PDM Sedley was a hit. Thank you for that, I may really consider buying it, but that price for the scent dosent seem to match. Definitely my kind of vibe though.
I've only been into fragrances for a year now but this is what my ideal Fragrance Wardrobe would look like as of today. Versatile: Roja Elysium Eau Intense (not released yet but assuming this fixes the 'performance' issue) Date: LNDL Bleu Electrique (if it ever comes back into stock ever.. ☹) Professional: Amouage Reflection Man Summer: PDM Sedley Attention Grabbing: ATH Hard Candy Elixir or Afnan 9PM Iris: Amouage Interlude Man Black Iris Leather: Memo Paris African Leather Oud: Xerjoff Alexandria II
blue electrique is gone. I too am sad as I got into fragrance right as it was discontinued, and decided to buy a sample just to try it, loved it, and now cant find a bottle at a reasonable price
I ordered a 60ml of Bleu Electrique four or five months ago. When I got it in the mail and sprayed it on, I went and ordered 100ml right away. It comes and goes, but it can still be had. Best chance to get it is with Fragbuy. I'd recommend going there, finding it, and clicking on notify me. When it comes back, and it will, you'll get an email.
@@jimlittle5769 Yup I'm signed up for notifications haven't seen it pop up in stock yet still waiting. It's kind of funny though because here in the US it's nearly impossible to get, but I hear of people in Europe saying it's easy to find and they can just walk into their fragrance shops and find it.
@@patrickpolak2402 Yeah, I hear that too. There are also some fragrance reviewers who send out info on great deals/hard to get fragrances. It'd be disrespectful to name them here so I won't, but they are out there. Been VERY helpful.
One solid mass appealing niche signature is all you need, my choice is Percival. I’m at the point where I will keep 6 of my designers. Born in Roma edt, light blue forever, Eros edp, most wanted intense, le beau, and cdnim.
An old-man-beginner is a unique category, I think! I just got into this about three years ago, around the age of 62. So it's an odd combination of being a "novice" but also being "old", i.e., already possessing a certain maturity of taste even without the actual practical experience. I find that you don't need to have come through all the fragrance aficionado's "stages," i.e., you don't start at 62 with an 18-year-old novice's tastes. In your 60s, and especially if you are a content, monk-ish single man like me, you're not looking for anything "bubble gum," definitely nothing "sexy," certainly not "beast mode." I'll also add that my tastes keep me away from anything overtly vanillaIn my three-year experience I find that I tend very much towards "niche," definitely away from anything caricaturely cologne-ish, after-shave-ish. I love something with an enchanting, fascinating "quirk," some captivating (i.e., to me if nobody else) hook, the thing that transports you somewhere and creates around you, like maybe in your office if you're blessed to have an office to yourself that people drop in on, a tastefully subtle but distinct ambience. I have fallen in love with things like Oriza L. LeGrand's Chypre Mousse, CdG's Rouge (Beets and Frankincense, my first splurge), Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum, Geo. Beene Grey Flannel, MB Explorer, L'Etat Libre d'Orange 500 Years and Sous Le Pont Mirabeau, Tauer Au Coeur du Désert and Incense Rose (wow!), Nicolai L'Eau Mixte, Hermes L'Ombre des Merveilles (a wonderfully simple yet enchanting "dumb reach" all year round), Victorinox Black Steel, Panouage Matières Libres Patchouli Figue, Lalique's Encre Noire, Diptyque Kyoto (Beets and Rose), Sisely Eau de Campagne (tomato leaf!), Xerjoff Torino 21, Amouage Jubilation XXV and Beach Hut Man. And finally, a long-discontinued one I cherish my three tiny vials of, Mauboussin M Generation. Plus Guerlain Heritage (among a number of Guerlains I'm crazy about) is a magnificently classy Sunday-go-to-meeting scent, especially in the cooler, darker months. I realize this channel is mostly for young guys like Omar, but still there might be some older newbies like me who might find this interesting.
Segregating fragrances as appropriate for certain ages is complete nonsense. Trust your nose and wear what you like. No need to buy into RU-vid influencer nonsense.
I took your recommendation from your last video on alexandria black panther. If it isn't a 9/10 at least I expect a 50% discount on your Mr fragrance cologne
I got it too and I really love it. A kind of soft grapefruit and lots of ambroxan. Seems simple but it's done really well. I'd look up the discourse around letting it macerate for a bit as well. Some claim it gets much better after you let it sit.
Versace Pour Homme is a wonderful fragrance and perfect for summer, hot weather. On my skin, it really is a very light projector, that’s the only drawback… I think I could wear 1/2 bottle (lol) and it would still be gently scented to those around me.
Thank-you for that super helpful vid. Can you do one that shows which brand has the best one/two punch? By that I mean, which brand has the best combo of daytime and nighttime must-haves. For eg YSL Y for day and La Nuit for night...or Dior Sauvage for day and Homme Intense for night. Maybe a top 10 countdown?
Orto Parisi Bergamask Penhaligon's Sartorial TF Noir de Noir EDP Musc Ravageur Frederic Malle EDP TF Grey Vetiver EDP Acqua di Parma Sandalo EDP Xerjoff Renaissance EDP Terre d'Hermes Parfum Dior Eau Sauvage EDT Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Intense Chanel Egoiste EDT YSL Bleu Electrique EDP My dreamed future life collection of course, there are also some other perfumes that I really really love and they can also be potentially linked to my life wardrobe.. This is so hard to create such a well rounded collection for us passionates.
because of videos like these i have collection of perfumes that i don't like, and perfumes i will never use. the only perfume you must have is the one you like!! period!!!
Always funny when people suggest Dylan Blue and Y EDP for younger guys only.Literally any guy of any age can where them very fresh scents so they aren't really age oriented.Angle Share is a very sweet scent yet no one calls it immature scent has no age.
Dylan Blue is for guys 16 - 31 years old. Y EDP is for ages 19-43, while Angel Share is for guys 27-29, then you have to stop wearing it for a while until your kids graduate high school and you can start wearing it again in your 40’s unless your bottle went bad. If so you should replace it with Encre Noir which is the type you must wear as you stare death in the face well into your early 90’s.
@@SchoolOfScent what would you recommend instead? Something playful, attractive, and gets great reactions. Can be a day scent too, but I’m more looking for a spring/summer evening fragrance atm. Budget is €100
do you know why there's so few people talking about 19-69 fragrances? I tried a couple. I love Chinese Tobacco it's super special and Miami Blue a banger for summer. You should look into them
Love Dylan blue, love Bleau de Chanel. But absolutely don't like neither YSL Y not Salvatore Ferragamo Aqua Essensiale. At all 😐 As well as neither of their flankers.
I like seeing the Malaki line by Chopard in your video. Musk Malaki is definitely the best - this is what I call "clean" fragrance. It is super long lasting, very clean and professional and absolutely unisex. I receive so many compliments with it. However, I do not like any of the others, including Oud Malaki - all other scents in the line are annoying to my nose
Hello please can you recommend an affordable Alhambra fragrance I can for my man, something fresh, clean and sweet for everyday , he’s in his early 30’s thanks
Since I sub to your channel I feel it's my duty to give you some honest feedback. You should be recommending general scents / tones for each category - your picks seem like advertisements rather than helpful advice.
Omar have u tried D&G the one mysterious night? Im surprised you havent spoken about it. People hype that stuff like crazy recently and its suppose to be middle eastern style. Would like to hear your thoughts
@@SchoolOfScent hm well I just recently ordered it here in Canada it finally became available after being exclusively sold in the middle east for so long. Hopefully you can get your hands on some
6:01 I don't think Versace Piur Homme is "safe" my coworker's husband comes to pick her up, and I can smell him. It smells really good, but it us a loud and distracting fragrance. I asked him what it was was and he said VPH. I think vanilla and all are safe as long as you don't over spray.
Rate my collection, lol : Sauvage EDT, Bleu de Chanel EDP, Le Male Le Parfum, Lá Nuit de L’Homme, Prada Luna Rossa Black, Prada L’Homme, Zaad (Imported from Brazil) , Starwalker, Davidoff coolwater, Drakkar noir
How is auster n Diaghilev amouage interlude black iris, kutay, crush on me, electimuss octavian, Nasomatto black afganon santal 33 , nishane sultan vetiver 😊
I love leather fragrances! I also wish they could manufacture a fragrance that smell exactly like gasoline I would buy it instantly. It's too bad gasoline is dangerous otherwise I would smell it all the time.
@School of Scent Yes I have it, unfortunately it feels weaker than I remember it from when I was in my twenties (I'm 45 now). The pure gasoline fragrance would be perfect for me to wear at home, I doubt it would be wearable in public 😁
Post videos with engaging titles and thumbnails, if they perform well enough early on, RU-vid's algorithm will generally push it to people, its more of a consistency thing than hoping one video 'changes everything'
What about fragrances with lavender? I've been looking for a great lavender-based fragrance for awhile now and sadly they just don't seem to get any love.
What’s the number 1 mens cologne that turns everybody’s head when walking by, breaks necks, fills a hallway and room, when walking by they say damn who smells that good, leaves a scent trail, people drool, I need to know,
@@SchoolOfScent perfect. Which one do you think i should get? Cdn im LE costs about 55$ and cdn um E costs 33$ which one should i consider buying first?
First point I disagree with: "versatile fragrances". The last thing a collector needs is a versatile fragrance. If you are going to collect then you are gonna have a fragrance for every occasion. I dont see the need for "a fragrance that does it all". Second point: "loud fragrances". I dont think anyone specially needs loud fragrances. If you need to grab attention you need a therapist before a fragrance. 3rd point: To introduce someone to oud, avoid occidental ouds especially Oud Wood that contains none. We cant smell any oud in this so he is not gonna discover what it is. Triad or Oud Monarch from Bortnikoff could be good beguinners oud fragrances if they have the money, with a lot of natural oud. Oud Maximus could be a good way to introduce him to stronger ouds. For cheaper, Ajmal proposes Mukhallat al Shams at a good price. Qurashi blend special from ASAQ isnt expensive too.
Rasasi Hawas is one of those loud fragrances. I love the smell but is too strong for my nose. I wish they create another (new) fragrance (keep Hawas the way it is right now) more soft/weaker.
Most wanted as a loud/club fragrance is insane. It's more of a get close enough to me to smell it date night fragrance. Also, every Iris fragrance ever made should be thrown in the trash lol. They're so offensive to my nose 😭. Why do men like smelling like someone's grandma 😭 if my nose has to LEARN how to like a fragrance, that ain't it lol
