Around the 35:00 mark, while discussing splitting Variables in different Collections and/or files, it seems you really haven't tried it out. The advice to have a Collection for each Variable type (color, typography, spacing) will create as many mode switchers that they are Collections or files, even if they share the same mode names. The only solution for now is to have all Variables that share the same modes (for instance brand theme) in one Collection and one file.

Exactly. I tried this as well with the result exactly as you mentioned. Even if the mode is the same name across files, it'll still require you to change them each individually.

I'm still in the blue with naming conventions and variables, don't think they managed to provide an answer to this. Perhaps it's just a loose and informal standard less thing at the time.
