If you like dark ceilings you could get an LED star mat that creates a star sky inside the van.. (like they do on Rolls Royce).. The mat would be installed behind the black roof lining and each little LED would be an individual star shining through.. Impressive feature at night.

Glad to see you guys back. You're looking great as always. Got to say, I can't believe the progress yous have made. Loved the journey. Also, I use to work for DPD and I know some of the bugs around the vans but I'm amazed at how much work yous have done. It looks amazing. Great work.

Hello you both! I just subscribed after seeing some of your nice content. I wanted to share a good idea for curved ceiling panels: Use vacuüm under foil to glue large curved panels. Just prepare a single large curved mold in advance that is airtight and covered in (teflon) tape so it can be used over and over again! This is a wellknown technique and is commonly used in the yachtbuilding industry. Hope it helps you increase your business. Keep on going! Cheers
Oh hey, I worked with CNC machines and I'm procuring a laser for my next job at a new shop. They are very cool tools but cnc does better at production things, your projects being custom one of a kind means all the time spent programming isn't saved when you could just cut it by hand. Laser on the other hand is good for making templates or things out of thin wood/plastic. Thanks to it's speed I could see laser used in your shop, but again it's still better to be used in larger scale production.
Great progress, great extension of the shop 👍 Not in the CNC thing yet but soon. Making some changes to our office/workshop to host a large scale CNC, ideally combined with a laser, if our plans of a CO2 laser combination works. Diode lasers are just not powerful enough to make sense. Sorry for the OT, I know you have another insulation topic video, but Im wondering about the glass/rock wool insulation in the structure. Dont you think moisture will enter that area and condensate within, gets wet and mouldy? Dont know if youre planning a vapor barrier though, then it would be no prob 😉 *edit* ..well, got it in the vid, seems like youre going for a full vapor barrier, not ususal in the van conversion biz but why not! Looking forward to the results. Actually I was considering to add some PI humidity sensors in the isulation areas, just to get some data for that ongoing moisture discussion 😁

Seems like the height gained by using a curve much less than the thickness of those pieces, perhaps just screwing the ceiling panel directly to the metal would be better?
By removing the middle of your beams to save weight you also serendipitously created hidden space to run wire or pipe if needed 👍 Also, is it just me or does Mitzi look a little bit pregnant?
I see you screwed the ceiling framing into the metal. Did you not create a big thermal bridge? We had some screws in our ceiling and they got really cold and had condensation
